This was actually far from sketchy or that could mean I've just been to a lot of sketchier things hahahaha. I firmly believe in going to different schools for services like hair, skin, massage care...because hey why not support a future professional...they have to learn and practice and I don't mind paying less! It was easy to call and leave a message for my preferred date and time. I called in the morning and received a call back that afternoon (when there was clinic). There are limited days and hours that the students have clinic so keep that in mind. It worked out for me because luckily there are evening hours. Check in was easy and at the time of my service a 1 hour massage is listed as $40, no add ons available that I know of. You pay before starting. Josie was my student and she greeted me and asked if I had visited before. I had not so she gave me a brief rundown as she guided me to the changing area. It's a large dimly lit room with multiple massage beds. Relaxing spa music was playing which is great for potentially snoring or awkward breathing sounds which could occur. I was given a very large sheet which I appreciated as some other places I swear try to give me the smallest square of fabric possible, barely covering all the goodies....not an issue here though! I took of everything but my panties in order to need impede on her flow. She led me to her massage bed and I hopped on! She asked if there were any specific areas I would like addressed and I told her my lower back gets on/off tightness. I received a full body massage and always felt properly draped at all times. Pressure was applied and changed as needed on various body parts and she checked in with me to ask if I was ok multiple times. I had an amazing experience! I tipped her in cash after my service...so be sure to bring some cash for your student. My first time here and will definitely be back when I'm in the area! As with any service based school, of course your experience will vary depend on who services you but verbally everyone will have the basics down to be able to service you...I've not had any issues and hope the same for you LOL If you've read this far thanks! You're a real one :) Pro tip...upon opening the door to enter...there are stairs immediately leading DOWN....do not try to run in or you will definitely be eating some stairs...potentially looking like an awkward slow mo cartoon gone wrong.

Friday night at 6:30 we went to the spa, kind of dejected and expecting disappointment. Well...WE COULD NOT HAVE BEEN MORE WRONG! Upon arrival, we were pleasantly greeted and directed to have a seat in a very comfortable waiting area. Within minutes we were taken to the massage room. The door opened into a clean and inviting area, where soft piano music and wonderful warmth filled the room. When we were ready, two ladies came in, and without any words just started working on us. As strong, yet gentle massaging began on my back, I began to relax. There was no chit-chatting going on between the women. They were completely focused on us. The only sound in the room was the peaceful music. Eventually some warm oil massage was done, and I think I felt a hot stone gliding up and down my back, which felt amazing! Hot towels were a nice surprise, too. In addition to massage, gentle stretching was directed to my back, arms and legs. I am 62, overweight, and out-of-shape, and yet I felt at ease as muscles I probably never use were being twisted and pulled and rubbed. I honestly felt like I was being worked on by a machine. I didn't feel hands or elbows pushing at me...everything felt like a smooth, warm roller gliding over my skin. The masseuse did not neglect my ankles or feet, and it all finally ended with a bit of attention and pressure to my forehead. We had been treated to a solid hour of heaven, peace, and comfort, and we were so completely relaxed. How relaxed? We could barely get ourselves dressed and I refused to even attempt to get my bra back on. We felt wonderful - like stoned noodles leaving the room. Anna and Paule had been our masseuses, and both my husband and I were beyond satisfied with their attentive massages. For the rest of the evening both of us were just useless haha. And here is the best testimonial Sea Spa will probably ever get: After arriving home, I found my big bull of a husband crashed out on the sofa.....on a Friday night.....watching..... a Hallmark channel Christmas movie! As for me, I will have to return to Sea Spa to retrieve my forgotten bra. Bottom line: This was a wonderful experience that we will definitely treat ourselves to again. :)

Another customer arrived; around 3:40, we both waited but clearly he was totally sketched out and took off. A woman came out and I asked if I could wait until 4; after saying I made an appointment for 3:20, then 3:40 but was told both times she was wrong. She then placed me in a room and shut the door. I waited and no one ever showed up. As I was leaving the woman said "she didn't come? So sorry." Something really off about this place - I do not recommend.

It sucks b/c I actually was looking forward to this extension after 4 years and they did not do a good job at all. I had visited Beacon Massage when they were on Newbury, so this was the first time I had been to…read morethe Beacon Street location. I haven't been in quite some time, but I had been gifted a Groupon that I needed to use before it expired, and since my regular massage therapist (at a different business) was away for a month, I decided to cash in my voucher. This massage was nothing like the previous ones I had received from Beacon Massage. For one thing, a good 15 minutes of my allotted massage time was spent on a lecture about my posture, my sleeping position, my stance, and my exercise habits. If I had wanted such advice, I would have gone to my chiropractor or my doctor. Second, a good 10 minutes was spent with the massage therapist seeing how "uneven" my body was, which required me to be on the bed in my clothes while I was told that one leg was slightly longer than the other, one hip was higher than the other, etc. Very strange. Third, I had asked for a focus on my upper back and instead most of the massage was spent on my arms. When I opened my eyes to peak at the clock, 15 minutes had gone of just arm work! I was told to flip to my front for only 10 minutes of back work (remember, 25 minutes had been spent on a lecture and fixing my "unevenness". After leaving the room, I was treated to another lecture about my posture and how I shouldn't ask for back work, and then the massage therapist immediately asked how I wanted to tip. I always tip, but I still find it rude to ask outright about it, especially after having just lectured me on things you think I need to correct in my life. I'm very disappointed by this massage, especially since I previously had some decent ones from Beacon Massage. I visited for a relaxation massage, but instead received a lecture about my body that was pretty condescending and anything but relaxing. I won't be coming back.
