The woman I spoke to NEVER responded once after our meeting and I was totally ghosted. STAY AWAY. I would strongly caution anyone considering LaserAway in Somerville (or any location for that matter). I was treated with settings that were far too aggressive and suffered burns in my Brazilian area that have left me with permanent discoloration and scarring. After reporting what happened, I spoke with the Northeast regional manager, Sandy (or Sandra). She told me she had been brought in to "clean up the mess" in this region. She acknowledged my concerns, offered me any treatment I wanted at no charge, and ultimately agreed that a refund for the remainder of my package was appropriate. She assured me it would only take a few days to process. That was weeks ago. Since then, I have repeatedly called the Somerville location and sent multiple text messages to the regional manager. My calls and messages have gone unanswered, and I have been completely ghosted. I have been an extremely compliant client, attending every laser hair removal appointment exactly every 6 weeks without missing a single session. After 6 treatments, I have seen zero improvement in hair reduction despite spending upwards of $2,000. I, like others, have also spent way too much money to not write a review. I do not spend money on myself ever. But I really wanted my hair to be gone. So I spent $3600 to get my bikini, legs, and underarms done (which I am still paying off). I went for 8 sessions which I'm sure now is a scam because i see almost no results. They said the hair could be 70-80% thinner. I can confidently say it thinned out by like 10%: I also want to point out that I never missed or rescheduled a single appointment. I showed up exactly when they told me to and followed their pre and post care instructions perfectly. I'm also very pale with dark hair. What they called "the perfect candidate." After bringing up my concerns about no results to everyone (nurses, and front desk staff), they said it was hormones. I am not on a hormonal birth control, I have no kids, and I got sterilized years ago. So I am not pregnant nor will I ever be. So saying it's "hormones" feels like a blanket statement that they tell people who complain. They also tried to blame me for missing appointments which really made me upset because like I said I never ever missed or rescheduled. I dealt with whatever appointments they gave me and rearranged my life around them for a year. What's even more insane is that when I was done with my final session and they asked how everything was, I told them it didn't work and I wasn't happy. That's when the sales pitches started. "Oh, well you can purchase more sessions for this price, and I TOTALLY recommend it because you have already done this much so you should really keep going." I said there is no way I'm spending more money. But she actually kept going. They were very pushy that I needed to buy more sessions... I get that she has to make sales but Jesus Christ. Really trying to get me with the sunken costs. Here I thought they'd work with me and try and help me out but they offered me nothing. $3600 gone with no results. I don't like the feeling of writing a bad review but I spent way too much money and this was way too much of a scam to go without complaining. I spent around $2,000-$3,000 (still paying this off) and hours of my life driving to and from appointments for bikini and under arm laser treatments to see no results. I had brought this up to my nurses and the front desk girls (early on and more than one time throughout the past year) and their only response was that hormones were to blame and that I will need to buy touch up appointments and that "everyone always needs to". Every patient having to purchase hundreds of dollars more in touch up packages is a huge flaw. I am not purchasing those because of course I am not going to see different results if I haven't already. I can't speak to other treatments at Laser Away but I would recommend that if you are interested in hair removal here to just go somewhere else. They're very obsessed with selling whatever they can which I get and I don't feel bad to ignore those comments or tell them I'm not interested. I go to the Somerville location for Laser Hair removal, and so far so good. I'm really here writing this review for the service Morgan offers. She's wonderful. That being said, this is a wicked busy location. All the staff are super friendly and helpful, but you have to take charge of your "laser aspiration." I've had 4 or 5 treatments so far, and all I had to do was ask for a higher intensity on the machine, saying "I'm not noticing a difference, can it go higher." Scheduling is a little hard, I notice they like to book you 6-8 weeks and I feel my body needs 4-6 weeks, so I just advocate for myself and everyone really tries their best. It does get annoying how booked they are so you have to be persistent on the booking for yourself. While it looks like I am one of many dissatisfied customers, I actually had great success with my underarm and bikini treatments with 80% reduction in overall hair and pain was very minimal. My legs, however, that I got under the same package, have not had any reduction in hair growth and hurts more than any pain I have ever experienced (child birth, IUD, waxing, etc). Due once to their scheduling error and once to my tardiness, I am 2 sessions behind on my leg treatments while complete with my underarm and bikini. Due to the sheer pain and lack of progress, I asked to switch out my last to sessions to a different area. These areas are cheaper for them to treat as they take less time, but I was told it was corporate policy that they would not switch out the treatment areas. I asked to speak to corporate. They told me they already escalated it to corporate. I asked for a number, they offered to have their manager tell me the same thing again. I am here to warn people that they lock you into these hugely expensive investment packages and would rather insist on giving you a treatment than listen to what their clients want. read more

I've never written a bad review in my life but I feel like I need to save others from wasting their money the way I did. I paid well over a thousand dollars for a service, religiously came in every 4-6 weeks and followed aftercare instructions religiously. 8 weeks after my last treatment and the results are just... not good. I didn't feel as though the technique used was adequate and there were certain areas that I paid for that weren't targeted as well as others. I tried for weeks to get in touch with someone to discuss my concerns to no avail, finally today was able to speak to someone. Don't waste your time with the online chat or email- they won't ever get back to you. When I finally got in touch with somebody, I was told that the hair growth I am seeing is "hormonal" and they attempted to try to get me to pay for maintenance sessions with them rather than stand by their service and try to make things right. I just got off of a phone consultation with a woman regarding laser hair removal sessions. However, I was very disappointed in how I was treated and with the crazy high prices!! To begin, my phone call definitely started off very scripted. It felt like they were just trying to make a sale, and not build a relationship with a potential customer. She asked what my needs were, I told her I just needed pricing, and then she went into a long sales pitch without ever giving me a price. One I finally got a monthly price, I immediately calculated my own total package price. When she asked if I would book, I told her I was hesitant as those prices were sky high compared to other medical grade facilities in the Boston area. She got defensive, then told me to call back if I changed my mind and HUNG UP on me before I could ask the rest of my questions. She didn't even say thank you or goodbye. Half way through, I told the nurses that I was worried because I started seeing hair growth again. They all chalked it up to "hormones" at the time and only one nurse ever actually "upped" the laser's strength upon my request. I knew my hair was corse so I figured that may have been why it was taking longer so I even let them suck me into another ~$1000 maintenance package to try to stop the hair regrowth & now after over 12 treatments, I am getting hair regrowth like crazy. I am very disappointed with my experience today at LaserAway at Assembly Row , I made an appointment over the phone the employees were very attentive , I made appointment to do botox because in the front window there is a sign written 10 dollars a unit , even though I confirmed with the employee who would make the 36 units for the cost of 10 dollars a unit, when I went to pay at the receptionist she told me that 10 dollars a unit was only if you bought the annual botox package, otherwise the value would be 15 dollars a unit . I go here for laser hair removal. I've been told multiple times and promised that with every session I should see 10% reduction but that's not the case and I've done 4 sessions already. Not all nurses fully cover the entire area when doing the laser treatment. Additionally, it's so hard to make appointments. If you had asked me a year ago my opinion on LA in assembly row, I would have given 5 stars and raved about them. However with 2 sessions left in my laser hair removal package, I will not be returning to this business. Somewhere between October and December the ENTIRE staff changed. The nurse Asma left, Kayla and Devon from the front desk, gone. And they were all the sole reason I felt so comfortable coming to this medspa. Ever since the staff changed I received nothing but grief, attitude, and utter incompetence. Because I was a laser love member I received $200 off any service the month of my birthday, I decided to use this for re-upping my lip filler. I scheduled an appt for 6:30. It takes me over an hour to get to the location coming from another city and at 6:05 pm I get a phone call "we need to cancel your appointment the nurse left for the day" I was so angry at this inconvenience I asked "how much would you have charged me had I called right now and cancelled?" And in the most condescending tone I was told "we wouldn't have" which is BS since every confirmation tells you the cancellation policy to avoid a late fee. After asking multiple times for a refund on the service I already paid for and did not receive they kept just offering to reschedule. I finally decided to just move it two weeks out for 11 am. 2 days before my appointment I received and email confirmation for my appointment, then the day before my appointment I received a text confirmation for 1:30 pm. Confused about it I called and was told they had to move my appointment and that someone called and spoke with me which was absolutely not true and I told her I could still make it but I would appreciate better communication for such an expensive service. Now I got to my appointment and the girls at the front desk didn't even acknowledge me, they took me back for my numbing 10 minutes late and the girl didn't even know how to apply it and gave it to me to finish applying the numbing. The service itself went fine the nurse was nice but I pay for 1.2ml of revanesse and only like .3 was used. 3 days later my lips looked back to what they were before but I had a follow up 2 weeks later. This appointment again was for 11:30. The day before my appointment I get a confirmation text for 5:30 pm!! I call them absolutely infuriated at this point, I'm unhappy with my previous service and the customer service and they keep canceling/moving my appointments. When I spoke with them they just told me if it doesn't work I can reschedule, I told the girl on the phone I'm UNCOMFORTABLE coming to this medspa now, everyone that works here makes me feel unwelcome and uncomfortable and I'm unhappy with my lip fillers I'd just like a refund and then I'm never coming back, not even to finish my laser package. At this point she says hold on, puts me on hold and comes back and says they can move my appointment to 1:15. Since clearly they aren't going to refund me, I decide to just go to my appointment the next day at the, again, new time. I expressed to the nurse I'm not happy with the size and shape of my lips and she works to correct them. After one pass over I'm still not happy so she goes through for a second pass over. I tell her at the end of the service I'm no longer comfortable coming here for services. As I check out, I ask if I have any upcoming appointments, & I don't so I leave. I will not be continuing my laser appointments, I am forgoing the last two because this place just makes my skin crawl at this point. They are so rude over the phone, the front desk is rude to your face, they don't acknowledge you as a paying customer for COSMETIC procedures that affect you permanently. It's honestly a disgrace, I will never be back and I will never recommend this place again. It's really sad because I had bad lip filler experience in 2020 and Kayla and Devon were the only reason I felt comfortable to try again and they left the company as far as I know. They are almost never on time for my appointments. One time, I was put in a treatment room and waited an hour on the chair in my robe due to them running behind. No one came to check on me. Another time, I had an appointment and when I checked in, the woman told me that my appointment time was actually 15 minutes later. I told her it wasn't and that I received confirmation texts saying it was at the current time. She responded that corporate shifts appointments around and doesn't notify anyone??.. I've also received inconsistent info from different people who work there. I was experiencing a lot of pain with laser and a woman at the desk told me they could give me numbing cream for free next time. At my next appointment, I brought it up and the people at my desk said that numbing cream isn't given for laser, that it would take 30 minutes of waiting after applying, and that it's typically in a package to purchase. Also, I finished 8 laser sessions and I still have a decent amount of hair and had to purchase a set of more sessions. I know the hair removal differs person to person, but it's disappointing after already experiencing poor service. I was considering getting laser on an additional body part but will look elsewhere. read more

I've been a customer with LaserAway for a while now and I have bought multiple packages. My first 3 sessions went well. However, later on down the road scheduling issues became frequent. This latest appointment I had booked for at least 3 weeks prior at there new fenway location. When I arrived at my appointment time no one was at the front desk. I called LaserAway and they "apologized for the inconvenience but the location opening has been pushed back"... at this point I had taken time off of work and been rescheduled with them multiple times. What's even worse is that they even CONFIRMED my appointment and yet had failed to tell me no one would show up... what a waste of time.
