DO NOT GO!! Upon entering my nose started stinging from the strong chemical smell, there's obviously no ventilation and immediately does not seem like a clean shop. I had an appointment at 3:40, sat around till 4:10 until I asked one of the two people there that was watching a show on his phone if he was doing my nails or someone else (mind you there was one person getting a pedicure and that's it). When they took my gel polish off they only used the drill shaver thing and I had to pull my hands away MULTIPLE TIMES because it was getting too hot and burning my fingers. He used the tools he had just used during a pedicure and I watched him hardly rinse them (I should have left after that). When he was clipping my cuticles he cut me and I started bleeding, he did not even acknowledge it and continued around the blood. The rest of the cuticle cutting was painful and near blood drawing and then he used a very corse buffer on my nails over my sore cuticles which was extremely painful. My nails look TERRIBLE there's obvious spots on my nails where he just did not go over with the top coat even tho he did two layers. I went to Gifted Nails for gel mani/pedi and eyebrow waxing, and all three services were a disaster. If I could go back in time & stop myself from going there - I would do so in a heartbeat. I go to nail salons frequently, and this is the first time I had to ask the technician to stop digging into my toe. Which she by the way proceeded to do anyway until it started bleeding. I didn't have any hang nails there and her English wasn't sufficient to explain to me why she needed to do it. Pictures of my gel manicure are attached. First one was taken one day after my visit. Second one is exactly one week later. Poorly applied gel started separating from the nail plate almost immediately. Washing my hair was impossible because it kept getting caught in my fingers. Technician applied over 4 layers of gel - I still don't understand what for. And as you can see - it wasn't even applied evenly. I also suspect their gel is of low quality because the layer that you see separated destroyed my top nail plate layer (which hasn't happened in the past with other gel). I also had to argue with my technician because she kept trying to upsell me on tips. Excuse me but this is such a specific service that not everyone wants / needs! Back room was filthy. And they didn't change the top sheet on the table for me. From the looks of it - it hasn't been changed for a long time. I was wearing white clothing and got yellow stains that won't come off afterwards. Gross. Eyebrow waxing itself was ok but she wouldn't trim them even though I asked her. I tried to insist but she just kept saying no, and again - she couldn't explain to me why due to her English. So I just gave up. As a side note: I overheard another technician arguing with one other customer about the nail color they chose. This is a personal choice, and should be a non-starter! The cost was $100 for all three services which is fine as long as you provide good quality service. This was not the case. There was also no hand or foot massage. I would absolutely not go back to this salon even if other technicians might be different / better - just not willing to risk it again. read more

If I could give less than 1 star I would. The entire time the technician was too busy chatting on the phone and shouting out answers to the quiz show on the TV to pay attention to the pedicure. My wife said that it was the worst pedicure that she's had in 30 years and would never go back. Meanwhile I was wondering whether my technician had EVER done a pedicure before. I'd attach a picture of my foot but I don't want to gross anyone out: for 2 days I worried that I'd lose my big toe and I was wondering if I could sue them. Never again. Probably once of the worst salons I happened to visit. Cluttered, messy, filled with junk decor and unnecessary items all over the place collecting dust. The beautician who took care of me knew nothing about nail care. I was cut, nipped and the entire manicure was just a torture. She was rough and rude. I asked for a design for Valentine's Day and she could not even do a heart shape design properly. However, she charged additional $6 per finger per design. A five year old would do a better job. Check out the photos. I'm giving them two stars only because I walked in without an appointment and they took me right away. I would not step my foot in the place again and I just hope the cuts and abrasions will heal without any infection. read more

Walk-in pedicure mid-afternoon on a week day. There were three people working, two of whom seemed to know what they were doing (probably owners of the place), but the other guy was absolutely and utterly clueless. It had to have been the very first time he had ever attempted to give anyone a pedicure. It was truly bizarre, how awful it was. Worst experience. Many times, I should have just gotten up and left, but the owner(s) kept trying to talk him through the service and fix it, so I just figured it would be over eventually (and, no one was speaking English at any point, so it was very awkward). When they had the gall to charge me full price for the service at the end of the experience, I just decided to laugh it off, but I will never use this salon again. Also, the salon itself is dirty, hot, and smells strongly of chemicals (no ventilation). Would recommend you try every other salon in the area before this one! read more

alright y'all, i'm gonna try to make this quick, but i also don't want to do them dirty so i'm gonna give you the low down on what this place is all about. i'm up here from summit, nj for about a month and half way through my stay i realized i needed a fill in (for acrylics) DESPERATELY. so, being the bougie person i am i spent 5 whole days researching places that have good reviews and actually work with acrylic nails. needless to say, i bit the bullet with this one and made an appointment for the same day i wanted to go. y'all... this place is SO GOOD! everything about it is super cute and everyone is incredibly nice! the business is recently under new management, but i think it changed for the better. not gonna lie, i did have to wait a bit before they could take me (there are only so many workers there), but they apologized and thanked me profusely for my patience. ugh, i can't get over how smooth everything went! the guy that did my nails (i'm so upset i didn't get his name, but i will when i go back) looked at all the damage (and it was NOT cute), fixed it perfectly and quickly, made small talk, the whole nine yards. i will say that these guys are jesus's #1 fans in the sense that there are religious statuettes and cards all over the manicure stations; so if that bothers you or you're gonna be a turd about it, skip the drama and find somewhere else. only reason it's not a five is because i feel like everything has room for improvement. anyway, i highly recommend Gifted Nails! read more

I went in under the new management. Liked the layout, liked the music choice. the old mgmt always had some talk show (like judge judy) on. That was not relaxing. i was in need of a manicure. i did not need polish, which is a good thing. the clear polish is chipped off three fingers (1/4")and all i have done today is type and file. maybe the polish is old? Wow!! I just hung up the phone with the rudest gentleman at this salon! You only get one chance to make a first impression and this guy lost a customer before my stepping foot in the door. I called the salon to inquire if they did acrylic nails with gel polish. BUYER BEWARE. This place is the absolute most nightmare of a scam I have EVER fallen for. I was a customer once a year and a half ago when I first moved here, had an awful experience. I chalked it up to perhaps a rough day for the business, so last week I gave them a second chance and I don't have words for how frustrated I am. Let me just preface this by saying, I have NEVER left a negative review anywhere about anything. I write thank you letters to companies for excellent service, it's just in my personality. But this place.... This place needs to be called out. A few things: The staff is not polite at all. The building itself is dirty. One of the men will belittle and criticize you for everything, from your posture, to telling you you're not allowed to look at the tv, and your body language, and forces you to stare at his tacky religious shrine, instead. . He makes himself known very clearly by the overwhelming amount of Jesus tributes at his station and on his body (i love Jesus for the record, but there's a difference between honoring Him and exploiting Him horrifically and in a place of business, I feel there should be a clear and professional line). He did this to me at my first visit and I was pretty surprised, though I'm an adult and let it go in one ear and out the other. However, when I returned last week with my eleven year old daughter, he doubled down on this with her, ruining her first manicure experience and reducing her to years after we left. He also clearly thinks he's God's gift to the nail world and women, lauding his work afterward and repeatedly making statements about how amazing he is and what great work he does (and honestly, he's given both of us the worst manicures we've ever had in our lives, when he worked on me, he cut my cuticles to the point of blood and every nail was uneven and jagged not to mention missing polish in several cracks and crevices. I could do a better job with my eyes closed). Last week when we were there, I got a pedicure. The woman who did mine was kind enough as far as the stand offish demeanor of the staff goes, however, she got incredibly frustrated with me several times when I asked her for the simple length I wanted, ignored my requests about it, and when I asked her not to trim my cuticles she totally ignored me and cut them all down anyway to the point where several bled. And I limped away from that pedicure honestly, I've never felt so hurt after letting someone touch my feet. There was nothing gentle about this service. When I arrived home I had to use my own tools to fix literally everything she did, which honestly wasn't much, since I asked for a watered down pedicure with no polish, no filing, no cuticles, just two false nails on my big toes that had broken down badly and a quick rinse. But beyond the disgusting artistry and shockingly awful customer care, the most infuriating aspect of this salon is the blatant price scamming you will suffer if you go here. On the phone, they will quote you one price. When you arrive, you will see another posted on the wall. But when you ask for what you'd like, they will tell you they "cannot do that" for some vague reason, that there's something wrong with your nails and you need more. They did this to me twice, and also my daughter. I was quoted $45 on the phone for both my daughter and I this last time. When we arrived, the price went up to $55. When all was said and done, my daughter got a very simple gel manicure that wound up costing $55 "they said" while telling me over and over he'll cut us a deal and "only charge $45 but don't tell anyone" (saying this loudly in front of other customers, so it was hardly believable as an act of kindness for just us); and I got a mild foot rinse and only two toe extensions they told me would cost $10. When we left, our bill magically came to $100. I was choking on my anger and surprise so badly that it was all I could do to even offer them a mild tip, though it was nothing compared to the generous tipper I always am, yet I believe in karma and couldn't bring myself to totally stiff them. I was so enraged I had to exit the shop immediately before I lost my temper and will NEVER be returning. This business is an absolute embarrassment to Manchester, VT, and a clear and blatant pricing scam in every way possible afar and apart from the horrible service and poor craftsmanship. Do NOT waste your money. There are several shops in Bennington just a short drive away that you will fare much, much better at. If I can prevent just one person from going through what we've been through here, then this review was worth it. read more

I don't usually leave reviews, but feel that I had to with my experience at Gifted Nails. I did not have an appointment, so I went to the salon at 10a, hoping they would be able to take me for a gel manicure. My sister bought e a gift certificate. Tim was able to take me, but his scheduled appointment arrived, so he had another gentleman do my nails. Tim had talked me into doing a dip manicure, as my nails were weak. I agreed. The new manicurist proceeded to tell me to next time make an appointment. He wasn't very kind about it. He squared my nails so severely, that I don't recognize my hands. As the days wore on, my fingers ached incredibly...very painful. And now I have a bruise on the inside of my palm, in between my index and middle finger. Finally had some time to try this nail salon after a lot of my co-workers raved about it. I will admit, I was hesitant to go after reading the reviews online which aren't that great. Being a transplant from the far reaches of NJ I have high expectations. This was your typical Asian nail establishment and I couldn't have been more thrilled. The owners were nice and my appointment was only about 10 min after the scheduled time. I found it clean and there was a typical nail salon smell but not too overpowering. A full set of tips with gel French mani was $50! In NJ? this is at least $80 and up. 2 weeks later and they still look as good as the day I got them done. I've already made my next appt. read more

I decided I wasn't going to do that ever again but since this is the only reasonably priced place in my area, I wanted to continue to get my nails filled there. Well, the man who owns the salon was really rude when I went in to make an apt. Apparently, they don't do fills not because the one person they have on staff will be in vacation for over a month. What kind of nail salon doesn't have more than one nail technician on staff? I get life happens but this apparently is a regular occurrence and it's annoying. So don't expect to go there and be able to get the services they offer. They only do manicures now. Nothing special. Too bad. I liked their work and the lady was so nice. If I could leave less than one star I would seriously consider doing so. I've been getting pedicures on and off for over a decade at various salons on both the east and west coasts, obviously having both good and not so good service. Never have I ever had such a lousy experience. I came to this salon with a friend based on a recommendation. After arriving a few minutes early, only my friend was seated on time. I sat and waited for my scheduled appointment time for a good 5+ minutes before being seated next to my friend for our "joint pedicure". The female that did my feet never once made any effort to make conversation or ask if I needed/wanted anything specific done with my feet (didn't even ask how short I wanted my nails), meanwhile the gentleman doing my friends feet couldn't be more friendly or attentive to her, even going as far as to take a blade to her feet to remove access skin. Being the laid back person I usually am, I didn't really care that the woman didn't bother to remove all the prior nail polish from my toes as it was a lighter color than the new one I had chosen... But then for my absolute favorite part (which is why most people get pedicures) My leg/foot massage lasted a total of 5 whole minutes. After rushing through the entire pedicure process it didn't come as a surprise to me that she flew through the polish job. To add insult to injury I sat for an additional 11 minutes (I know because I watched the clock and went through numerous dry cycles) while my friend continued to get exfoliated, massaged, polished and overall pampered. When it came time to pay I confronted the women who did my pedicure and asked her why I was being charged the same fee of $28 dollars for a 20 minute pedicure while I sat and watched my friend get more than twice the time and attention than I did for the same exact price? Again, it gets worse... The customer service is actually worse than the pedicure!! The women (who is supposed to be providing a service to customers that ideally should result in satisfaction) didn't even respond to me. I was baffled at this point so I actually asked her, excuse me I'm trying to talk with you do you have anything to say to me and all said was no. So I again tried to explain to her how odd it is to come in with a friend for the same service and get seated more than 5 minutes after her and finish 11 minutes before her.... Regardless of what happened during the actual pedicures the whole thing was just really unprofessional. At this point I knew I wasn't getting any type of discount, and frankly I didn't care, I just wanted her to acknowledge the situation, or god forbid fake an apology. But nope, nothing. So unprofessional there needs to be another word for unprofessional. Needless to say that was the absolute worst experience I have ever, ever had. Not only will I NEVER go back, nor will my friend. I will also never recommend it to anyone. I would rather pay an untrained monkey than ever return to that "salon" ***Also... Ditto what that other person said about the poor air quality. Every breath you take in that "salon" is like putting your nose to an open bottle of nail polish and taking in a huge whiff. My measure of a good manicure is how long it lasts without chipping and this salon rated very high. This place is good to go to in a pinch! Unfortunately, the air quality is not good. Hardly any ventilation, and with the acrylic nail solutions, the air can be terribly stifling. They have fans on the workstations, but they never seem to be on. If you happen to have breathing issues, I would recommend you research other places with better ventilation. A very good price-point for many, but overall, I would not recommend if you happen to be that weekly-monthly mani/pedi person due to the ventilation/air quality matters. read more

Made an appointment but had to change appointment 3 times because the timing of a horse show is so unpredictable, they were very pleasant and accommodating. This nail salon is a joke. I called the day before and left a message for three appointments and a time we would be coming. I specifically said if there was an issue accommodating the appointments to call me. I did not get a call back. When we arrived the next day, I was told they could not accommodate us. This was a day out with our mom and were totally disappointed. The salon was empty so the reason we were turned away is incomprehensible. The manager was not apologetic and made no attempt to accommodate us. Take your business elsewhere because this place doesn't care about customers at all and doesn't deserve your money. read more
