I looked up the salon next door to Phil's but the only stylist there that day (early Monday afternoon) was busy with a client and didn't take walk-ins. I had seen the sign for Phil's Barber Shop earlier in the week (conveniently located within walking distance to Walgreen's) but I wasn't too keen on waltzing into a barber shop and asking for a bang trim vs. a shave. However, since I couldn't get what I was looking for at the first salon next door, I noticed the two chairs in Phil's were unoccupied and saw a nice lady who's name I learned is "Luz" awaiting my arrival as if I had actually made an appointment. I had to walk in and ask if she could fix my fringe. Luz was very professional and is an excellent listener - which is highly important for personal services such as this - especially the first time around with a new client/stylist or "barber". Luz did exactly what I was hoping she would/could do to clean up the mess I had made by cutting my own bangs and she definitely knew what she was doing; so kind and knowledgeable. First, the fact that we were able to book a couples massage online the night before was incredible. These appointments can be difficult to arrange without booking well in advance, especially when you need two massage therapists available at the same time. I honestly couldn't believe we were able to get an appointment, so I called to confirm. Sure enough, they were ready for us exactly as booked! When we arrived, Ashley and Luna greeted us warmly and escorted us to our room. Before starting, they took the time to understand exactly what each of us wanted, asked about any concerns or problem areas, explained the entire process, and made sure we had no questions. We both opted for Swedish massage, which is my personal preference. My wife usually prefers deep tissue but sometimes finds it a little too intense, so she decided to try Swedish as well. My wife had Ashley, and I had Luna. Honestly, this was probably the best massage I've ever had! I'm typically very ticklish when it comes to having my feet massaged, and that part can sometimes be more stressful than relaxing for me. Not this time! Luna got it absolutely perfect. My favorite part, though, was the attention she gave my neck, shoulders, and hands, especially while I was lying on my back.
