Do not bring your vehicle here. They are CROOKS! The service was horrible. I brought my vehicle here to get my radiator checked because it was leaking antifreeze not oil and I paid for a diagnostic which they did not perform. They fixed my oil coolant which did not need any fixing because it was not leaking oil. They are very unprofessional in communication with customers. They kept my vehicle 3 days and when I picked it up while driving home the vehicle started smoking and jerking and it ran hot, so I immediately returned it back to the shop. I was told my vehicle ran hot because of the weather by the shop owner, which was a lie, it ran hot because they did not do a diagnostic which I paid for. They kept my vehicle for 3 weeks afterwards without any communication but once. I was always the one who had to contact them. They did not try to compensate me on what I had already paid for of the oil coolant or try to do a discount to go toward the radiator repair. So, money was wasted fixing something that did not need to be addressed and I left with the same problem only worst because my vehicle was in worse shape than when I brought it there in the beginning. I do not recommend this company. I rate them a zero but the 1 star it is since they have to be rated. read more

I wish I could give lower than a 1 star. They took my problem, and made it worse. I have more issues with my climate control in my truck than what I did when I dropped it off. radio keeps turning off now, so I went to remove my panels to make sure they connected everything properly and THEY DIDNT PUT BACK ANY OF THE SCREWS. now I have to buy hardware for my dash kit. Radio wire harness was pinched, and now I see bare wire. From the bottom of my heart, thank you Gibbs. thank you for costing me more money. I truly hope people read these reviews and go somewhere else. Jones auto in Covington is who I go to now, they actually do good work, communicate, and look at ways to save me money, not make me spend more up front, or to fix work they did. My daughters 4Runner had an oil leak coming from both sides of the valve covers. The owners called to let me know that both valve covers were cracked and proceeded to find the best deal on replacement covers. The work was not only done in a timely manner, but it was done well. They are UNDER New management! They basically had my jeep for 3 whole days, didn't even fix the problem. Tried to charge me 800+ for something they couldn't fix. The light came back on as soon as I left the property. I will not recommend no one to come here. read more

These guys seem really nice and willing to help. The only problem I had was they wouldn't listen to my husband about what was wrong with my car and therefore my car did not get fixed. I guess they get use to people not knowing what they are talking about but I only took my car to them because my husband did not have time to fix it. BE AWARE!!! The new owners are rip-off artists! In the past I dealt with Rusty who was pretty fair and honest. I took my vehicle in for a squeaking noise. I got a call from Hector with the diagnosis. That is when I found out this place had new owners. Hector said I need Struts, ball joints (upper & lower), steering rack & pinion, inner & outer tire rod ends. I had recently had my ball joints replaced so I thought that was odd. The recommended work was estimated to be almost $3700. I took my vehicle to another shop and they put it on the rack and invited me into their shop. They confirmed and showed me that I didn't need struts, ball joints (upper & lower), or steering rack & pinion. They said I needed the tire rod ends and a boot for the rack & pinion. I then called and asked for the owner (Charlie) to see if he would go along with the story. To my disappointment he stuck with the script. I paid $130 dollars for the diagnostics charge and I'm thankful to have learned this lesson. I just pray they didn't do anything to my vehicle to try gain future business. The actual work I needed cost less than $600. The guilt had to be getting to Charlie because he called and said he would refund the $130 which he did but it's too late because he has already showed me who they are. I WILL NOT GO BACK AND NEITHER WILL THE SEVERAL PEOPLE I HAVE RECOMMENDED. WE WORK TOO HARD FOR OUR MONEY TO BE RIPPED OFF!! read more

A couple of weeks ago my low tire pressure came on. I thought it was the cold weather but I had not one but two nails in the sidewalk of my tires. The tire place wanted me to add an alignment for another $99. I could at this time from paying for tires and being in a hurry to get to work. My husband goes to Gibbs Garage foe his truck and really likes them. I decided to take my car there and have them do the alignment. He came back in about 20 minutes and said my car did not need an alignment; it was dead on. He checked all the fluids and did not charge me a penny. He said he doesn't charge for checking. Not only do they not call before doing additional and significantly more expensive work, but they also drove out ALL of my gas, which they explained away as "Well, we had to test drive it and make sure everything was working." Test driving or not, a half tank of gas should not be used! Then they had the audacity to tell me to continue driving it to ensure everything was ok. If that's what you claimed you were doing in the TWO days you had my car, then why do I still need to drive it? Sure, they got it done quickly, but this company is full of crooks. They bait and switch prices, lie about what they've done and have HORRIBLE customer service. If you don't get the guy who condescendingly chastises you for not calling back in 30 minutes, you get the imbecile who has no clue what's going on and has nothing but "I don't knows" to offer. Had a terrible experience with the owners of this Garage. Initially they appeared to be good folsk, but in the end, Gibbs turned out to be just like every other repair shop. Overcharging customers for parts and labor and refusing to stand by their work. Had them look at my 2005 Mazda 6 because I had a check engine light. When I brought it in it had diagnostic code P0455 (emission systems leak). After looking over my vehicle they assured my wife that the check engine light was due to a faulty gas cap, but I also needed front brake pads and a new drive axel. The diagnostic, service and parts came to $499. A bit pricey in my opinion. And my initial concern (check engine light) was conveniently brushed under the table and rendered fixed by replacing my fuel cap with a new one. Did I mention That I paid $78.50 for a smoke test to find a faulty fuel cap that turned out not to be the issue as they had diagnosed. Anyway I had the recommended services performed on the 8th of July, and 1 day later the check engine light returns. Anybody who knows a bit about cars knows that if you clear a check engine code without actually fixing the problem the code returns in a day or two. After bringing the car back to redress the issue Gibbs tried to charge me another $400 dollars to fix the problem that they had mis-diagnosed the first time. I relied on their professional opinion and they dropped the ball.and instead of correcting their mistake they pretended as if this was a new issue totally unrelated to the original check engine light 2 days ago. And here is the kicker, my wife asked for the "supposedly new" diagnostic code so that we could cross reference it...and guess what, it was the same code from previously P0455, they never fixed the issue. They just gave me a new gas cap and found a bunch of other issues to work on because it was more lucrative. How dishonest is that. Like I said, typical repair shop. Only thing they care about is lining their pockets. read more
