I had a great time visiting this venue when I arrived here for a card show around Saturday at 11…read moream. Since it's a local, there's lots of parking available, but beware since there are bad drivers in the San Jose area... I typically park by target and get my steps in trying to get to the mall itself. There are also other local services to eat or shop at, such as Mendocino Farms, Shack Shack, and Gen KBBQ. Typically, I've been to this venue about 3-4x in the past for two things: going to the King Eggroll for Chinese food or if my family wants to go here. Now, I've added a third excursion of going to card shows. I really enjoy this opportunity to connect with the local community, since the mall is fairly "dead" in atmosphere and energy. Now, the card show brings in a lot of life to this mall, and adds a lot more foot traffic for the businesses, shops, and restaurants at the mall. My only issue is how the aisle walkways can be crowded with people. There's only about 1-2 security guards that I've seen, which is a concern for handling people traffic. Overall, it's a good experience and I would come frequently.

Some of my favorite shops are Mariette Chocolates, Hicklebees independent book store, and Footwear, Etc. My chiropractor and massage therapist also have offices there. we have been to old town Los Gatos many times before and although there is limited parking this has…read morenever been a problem before. we were going for a planed dinner at Teleferic (a place we have enjoyed many times before) however upon our arrival researched out a parking spot and found someone who was leaving two stalls behind where we were in the fairway who would give us the spot, so we backed up to take advantage of the spot. before we could do this another car tried to swoop in and take the spot. I tried to explain to them that we were waiting for that spot. the amount of entitled vitriol that spewed forth from that car was astounding! there was clearly no reasoning with them. as they were screaming at me a security Gard from palamerican approached me, telling me to move on. I informed him that the person leaving was giving me their spot and I intended on taking them up on the offer. the palamerican security guard told me that I had passed the spot and to move on. I told him of the arrangement and that I was backing up to the spot but he had no interest in listening to me. he clearly had no interest in resolving this situation in an amicable way, nor did he want to listen to my reason. why? it was because he was being racist. why do I say this? the car load of people who were acting out and yelling were Indian (south East Asian) and he was too. clearly he was siding with them and didn't want to listen to what I had to say. rather than trying to deescalate, he told me that he was calling the police and trying to intimidate me by videoing me. neither of which worked. choosing to move to higher ground after a few choice words I moved on. after reparking my car I looked to find him so as to get a name and report his unprofessional actions to his supervisors, which I informed him of. upon contact, he flat out refused to identify himself At which point in an effort to intimidate me further he said he was calling 911 again and the cops would come and get me.(being in law enforcement myself, not sudo-law enforcement I said "go ahead, ill be over here having dinner") no cops ever showed, (as I thought because police don't really want to deal with such nonsense created by amateur poorly trained security personnel like this joker. and obviously they have had problems with this guy before, or otherwise they would have shown up.) however his unprofessional behavior cast a Paul over the night and turned what should have been a pleasurable experience and evening into a night of attempted intimidation and negative experience. is this how Los Gatos treat their visitors? obviously they don't need my money, but we plunked down over $200 on dinner and drinks at Teleferic while the guards friends went to the bobo shop. bottom line, the food was terrific, but why should we come to Los Gatos to spend our money when we are going to be berated by the amateur security personally they hire. Its a sad loss for the restaurant, as it is unlikely that we will return after our experience with the racist poorly trained security guard and all the other businesses that we would have patronized in the future will also take a hit, and more importantly, this is exactly what we will tell our friends and colleagues about our experiences in Los Gatos and why not to go there Los Gatos- don't bother going, they don't want you!

If I wanted to visit both Sprouts & Target, I'd park near Sprouts, get one of their carts, sanitize it, go to both stores, and return the cart to Sprouts. Now, Sprouts has put those detectors on their carts, and the magnetic barriers aren't even close. So, one has to move their vehicle within one shopping center and wipe off two carts in order to shop at both stores. And it makes me more likely to eschew the store I need only one or two items from. Assuming others do the same, it's bad for business. And of course, it's very off-putting for customers like myself. Please fix this.

There are a lot of local favorites, like Eleanor's discount Fashions, Heartbeat Cafe, Trailhead Cyclery, Alicia;s cafe and much more. Lots of brick and a cute rose garden in some areas. There also is a large overhead area over the sidewalk to stay out of the rain. One drawback is the people who smoke, sometimes including weed, near the businesses where people are trying to sit outside and enjoy. Other than that, a nice mall.
