There were some stores and T&T Supermarket at the BACK of the building. I did not know the first day I was here. A very pleasant mall to walk in. Ross had good prices and lots of home items too. Westgate Mall is a bit of a tale of two malls. The outlet stores are the reason I keep coming back -- Nike, Old Navy, Gap, and Nordstrom Rack are all solid, and they're connected to the inside of the mall. There's also a Target and Ross, which are convenient anchors. But beyond that, the inside of the mall is pretty much dead -- lots of empty storefronts and barely anyone walking around. The food court is limited: a boba shop, a burger place, an Indian restaurant, and King Eggroll. The recently opened T&T Supermarket has definitely brought in traffic, but since it's not connected to the inside of the mall, it doesn't help revive the interior. Same goes for the stores on the outskirts of the plaza like Sephora, T-Mobile, and others -- good to have nearby, but they don't feed foot traffic inside. To be fair, the mall itself is in decent shape -- it could use a remodel, but it's clean and maintained. What it really needs is more quality restaurants that connect to the interior to give people a reason to actually walk through. Parking is great and easy, which makes quick outlet runs painless. I'll keep coming for the outlets, but I'd love to see the inside come back to life. read more

This is just an observation I made during my visit at Westgate today. There was a time when I remembered places like Westgate Mall was a places where you could browse, sit for a few minutes, people-watch and make an afternoon out of it. With store closures and turnover affecting the atmosphere these last few years it just feels less welcoming. When seating starts disappearing , the experience can start to feel more transactional, almost like the message is, "shop and leave," rather than "stay awhile and enjoy yourself." For shoppers, especially older adults, families with children, or anyone who simply wants to take a break, the lack of seating can make a center feel much less inviting and can actually discourage longer visits. read more

I had a great time visiting this venue when I arrived here for a card show around Saturday at 11 am. Since it's a local, there's lots of parking available, but beware since there are bad drivers in the San Jose area... I typically park by target and get my steps in trying to get to the mall itself. There are also other local services to eat or shop at, such as Mendocino Farms, Shack Shack, and Gen KBBQ. Typically, I've been to this venue about 3-4x in the past for two things: going to the King Eggroll for Chinese food or if my family wants to go here. Now, I've added a third excursion of going to card shows. I really enjoy this opportunity to connect with the local community, since the mall is fairly "dead" in atmosphere and energy. Now, the card show brings in a lot of life to this mall, and adds a lot more foot traffic for the businesses, shops, and restaurants at the mall. My only issue is how the aisle walkways can be crowded with people. There's only about 1-2 security guards that I've seen, which is a concern for handling people traffic. Overall, it's a good experience and I would come frequently. read more

I didn't even know this place existed in West San Jose , I only discovered it while passing by to eat somewhere. The outside itself was nice but the inside? The smallest mall I have ever seen? I don't even know if it can be called that. More like an indoor tiny walking area with some lesser known stores and not much to see. Some nice restaurants sure but that's all it is. Cool little mall, not many places to shop. The majority of the mall, is one level, for the exception, being Target which has two floors. I think it's great for hosting events, because it's spacious. There's a ton of food inside and outside the mall to choose from. read more

This review is for the food and drink at food court. They both sucked. King Eggroll express had the worst beef broccoli we've tasted, flavorless and weird, something was not done right. Egg roll ok. Ordered a winter melon fruity tea with basil seeds from Gong Cha. On kiosk, I asked for less sugar, still the whole drink tasted way too sweet as if they've robbed a sugarcane plantation and dumped all the sugar in the drink. I absolutely disliked it! Set your food /drink standard higher, Westgate! Then maybe there'll be more footprints. Great mall's food is much better. This mall is so unalive. read more

My daughter and I went to Westgate Center to explore while my husband met his friend at Starbucks. It was good to get out and it was such a nice small mall. I think it's actually an outlet mall. They have stores like Nike, Game Stop, Party City (which was having its closing sale), Old Navy, Gap, Nordstrom Rack, Target, Carters, TJ Maxx, etc. We enjoyed walking around indoors to the various stores. I remember going here when Burlington was here. It must've closed because it wasn't there anymore. We bought a few things for pretty good prices. We bought from Nordstrom Rack, Ross, and Game Stop. Westgate Center has potential and it has a lot of great stores like the best Nordstrom Rack in the South Bay, Target, TJ Maxx, and great eateries as well. But for some strange reason, the other side of the shopping center is really dead. On the side that's facing Saratoga Avenue, you can see it always looks popping but on the other side facing Hamilton, it feels like a ghost town. Sometimes it's quite empty when you're walking through the middle of the mall as well. Hopefully something can be done to revitalize some of those weird areas. I do like going to Westgate for my fix of King Eggrolls or shopping at Target or grabbing the latest fashion at Nordstrom Rack. But the other parts that I mentioned, it feels very neglected. Today was Day 2 of Winter wonder market ! We were pleasantly surprised at all the commotion and excitement that filled the hallway along the food court entrance up to the escalators to Burlington coat factory . The atmosphere was buzzing with laughter , cheer and tons of creatives selling their art work , stickers & products . Value ranged from $5 ( spinning a Pokémon wheel for prizes) upwards to 2,000 for collectors items including rare or limited edition prints of football players and trading cards . The service vendors and staff were very friendly and helpful in reaching the customers to engage and ultimately buy the products. My family and I really enjoyed this community event and hope to see more creators in the near future have an open space to continue to showcase and sell . read more

Westgate Center itself is a 1/5 star mall, The Salon Professional Academy (TSPA) being the only relevant part of the mall. Great hair for an affordable price (no global bleach). Mall itself is pretty much dead. I'm giving this mall more points because SJ Made's Annual Friend Fest was hosted at Westgate this past weekend. Not my favorite location because it is soo far from me, but it's always nice to have free parking. It sucks that the venue was smaller and therefore the capacity-- the line was soooo long after I finished shopping. I feel like long lines for SJ Made are usually during the first opening hours only. This place does not have any good stores to shop at and that includes Target. I was at the grand opening of the Walmart neighborhood market, which closed without my knowledge because I stopped going and working events at the mall. Oakridge and Eastridge are the only ones worth visiting and perhaps Milpitas or Valley Fair, if anyone is willing to go there or wants to pay for parking. read more

It's a pretty nice mall. I came here on a Friday afternoon and there weren't too many people. The most popular stores are definitely the Target, Nordstrom Rack, TJ Maxx, and Ross. Also some of the stores are only accessible from their outside entrance which means having to exit the mall and walking around the outside to the exterior entrances of some stores (I don't mind because I like the walk but I'm sure it's an inconvenience for some). There are a few food options available at the small food court which I will definitely try out when I come back here. Plus, there are a lot of stores in the surrounding area so this is definitely a good area to shop at! read more

Westgate Center is one of the shipping malls still doing okay in the Bay Area. At least much better than many shopping malls I have visited recently. The shopping center is still bustling when I'm there on Sunday afternoon. Many customers are coming to see the stores in this shopping mall. They have one of the best Nordstrom Rack stores in the area. The parking lots are huge, and easy to get a parking space close to the entrance. It looks very safe to me, clean, and the parking spaces are standard size. Lol! This is one of the critical elements of my feelings about the shopping malls. I hate to park my car in those very narrow parking spaces! read more

Very small rectangular layout strip mall indoor one stop shopping center. Depends on your purpose for coming here. I like that it does have a very small public food court area with tables and chairs. Security guard present. You can find good value in these affordable retail outlet stores, such as TJMaxx, Ross, Burlington Coat Factory, etc. There are great selections and it's not expensive for the average population. Saw Nike and an active gym located inside too. The center is not crowded with long lines during weekdays and parking in the lots are a breeze. It's easy to get in and get out especially located not far from Hwy 280. This place is very low key. By the way, there's an Indian/Napalese restaurant inside. It looks super yummy and attractive, so I will be stopping by again to taste their foods. Very delicious looking meal sets and you can order from machine outside by the door. Mainly mothers, seniors, and locals off work walking around. Center is not huge. Gong Cha for beverages, Sushi restaurant, and Chinese food option is available in food court. Saw a Mexican food place, but not sure if they are open. Ice cream/sweet stop? Yes available. Parts of food court area was dim in lighting by the entrance doors. If you're looking for a quite place to walk around, this is it. Otherwise, not much happens here and people are probably going to get bored easily because it's a very small strip mall place. When my daughter was young we used to come to Gymboree Classes and go to Target. The food court has grown but nothing eye catching for food. But it is a spacious location and the stores have a ton of space. Just not much for shops depending on what you are looking for. The place is very well maintained and has a security office. There is not much for us at this location that I can't do down in gilroy where we live. But I do enjoy stopping by when in the area. read more

FAKE SANTA REPORT THIS LOCATION if you're going for the kids don't do it! not here! I was invited to attend a Santa greeting for my grandkids all four 1-2-8-9. I have been to many before and felt a true Xmas realistic feeling before. But these guys folks get an f - Santas coat with white sleeves and the white color was grey not white from being not washed or replaced for years very disappointing to see a company as big as this mall using such a cheap Santa costume and the imposter actor should take some lessons from what Santa should be saying and not so concerned about picture sales .final comment as soon as he hits the floor is when Santas is smiling and waving does not start when you hit the chair -these kids idolize Santa but not the one i witnessed very concerning FROM XMAS PAST --- note to this Santa; don't go out if your suite does not match and never in time has it been more important that your suite needs to be cleaned after every use not thrown in a corner shame on you Westgate! I started coming here in the early seventies back in the day it was a great mall, everybody would come and hang out here. Now after its second or third facelift is just not happening. Don't get me wrong if you enter a store from the outside of the mall, there are some nice stores but the center of the mall is just crap. I normally come here to go to Nordstrom Rack and that's about it, this mall is pretty empty or dead so to speak. It has so much potential to be a great mall if they had more stores and at least a food court. They are trying to build it up little by little, I believe their latest addition is The Nike Store and that's a breath of fresh air. They have a few big stores, very few little stores and 3 main food and beverage spots which happen to be Starbucks, SmashBurger and Sushi Boat. It's a clean plaza with plentiful parking. The shops are all lower end (Ross, TJ max, Burlington, etc.). Selection and service at all the shops we visited were inferior to the same stores at other locations. Food court available if you get desperate. Malls seem to slowly be going the way of the dodo. Extinct. I was surprised as to how much parking there was here, especially with Christmas around the corner. This isn't the largest mall in the world, but they do have a pretty awesome Santa to take pictures with. There aren't many stores and this place doesn't get very crowded. but it's a trend I've noticed in a lot of malls. Amazon is killing the mall culture. With that being said, this is a pretty easy mall to navigate through. Doesn't have the largest selection of stores, but there are a few quality ones here. I LOVE this somewhat outdated "small mall." I used to go for the huge malls that get all the attention, but realized I always ended up at the same few stores. This mall has a super nice Gap outlet, great Old Navy, Nordstrom Rack, a two story Target, a perfectly funky Ross, and a Starbucks etc PLUS a veggie grill in the parking lot and none of the overrated Great Mall insanity. Westgate is a little gem here in the area! They have an alright food court, a tad better now that King Eggroll has arrived! They have a Target, Burlington Coat Factory, Sporters, GAP, and NIKE outlet so you can fear up! Avoid Nordstrom Rack because it's overrated and over priced...just my opinion! Outside the mall there's a Subway, Blue door, willow Street pizza, Buffalo Wild Wings , Veggie Grill and nothing to do with food but a Game stop! This little mall definitely holds its own!
