Cute little area in the Evergreen neighborhood. I would give them a 5 star rating if they add more shops and restaurants here. It's a very empty place, but with beautiful sights everywhere. Lots of public parking lots and 2-hour off street parking. Not much is happening during the pandemic here these days. Empty for lease office spaces and retailers that are not usually open for business. One breakfast & brunch place stands out. One cafe and yogurt ice cream place is popular. One very small coffee shop, but very little foot traffic. Only one ramen place is here, but it's usually open in the late afternoon to evening hours. Saw a neighborhood Walmart on the side. During the daytime, there's rarely people sitting at the benches by the water fountain in the center of this place. Farmers Market opens during limited hours on selective days, but not much selections either. Very relaxing area to walk around, but I didn't like all the cars constantly driving around the circles. It's really not a popular or busy place to begin with. You can find some empty tables and chairs outside during this pandemic. What I enjoy most about being here is that it's just a simple place to sit and relax, especially if you don't want to go to bigger retail streets or busier neighborhood districts. The colorful buildings and beautiful single family homes give the area an uplift. Overall, it does feel very casual, safe to walk or sit around. I haven't seen much ghetto people or activities here yet. Enjoy the short stop if you do decide to come here. Sharing some beautiful views today.

Here's the hub for all things Evergreen. Over the years I've seen this center evolve during my excruciating jog-bys. Tai Chi in the morning, family time in the afternoon and teen hangs at night. I've witnessed it all. Now they're holding movie nights, Farmers' Markets and food truck events on weekends. Whuh? When did they bring the party to my neck of the woods, and how have I been missing out on all the fun these recent years? It makes me proud to see it all in full bloom during the outdoor seasons though. Sure, this hasn't been the prime spot to hold private business. I've seen many-a-occupants toot it and boot it: Quiznos (what happened to his chain?), that one creamery that served everything but ice cream, and of course Lunardi's (R.i.P.). It seems like only Chase, Walgreens and Evergreen Coffee Co. had the only real staying power since it opened. Sad. BUT the neighborhood turnout is always great and they give enough of their time and occupancy for the city to develop even more real estate both residential and business-ish in the area (See: Citi Cafe, Walmart, the new townhouses that look like firehouses). Nice place to take your young'uns and pups for a stroll then cheat and eat at the ice cream place that serves burritos and bulgogi or whatever. Idek anymore....

I got a random Facebook invite to go tho this great plaza for a free concert and free family friendly movie night. Nothing to lose and the possibility of seeing a new unknown area of San Jose. The experience was great, very nice sunsets from this point and well taken care of trees, grass, fountain and nice stores and restaurants around. I did not have the opportunity to take a look at the stores, but I think they have done a good job in trying to make this area very cozy and 'village like' and it was very nice to see all the people with blankets over the grass listening to the music and in happy mood, zero conflict there. Very mellow. A nice area to live, I would say.

Enjoying music and dance.

Evergreen Village Square is a fun place to hangout in the mornings during a weekend. They recently started having Off the Grid food trucks on Saturdays from 11-3 and have the Farmers Market on Sundays. It's a nice family environment and for the food trucks, I'd recommend bringing folding chairs and picnic blankets!

Ask the Community - Evergreen Village Square

Anybody knows anything about the Tai Chi classes? I understood they took place on weekday mornings around the fountain. Are they still taking place?

I'm not sure for now, but before a group of fans just met on Evergreen Village Square for Tai Chi ,I guess on Saturdays at 8a.m.
