Downtown Willow Glen is very cute! I love how it's family friendly and I see a lot of babies out at night. There are many dogs, too. Unlike downtown San Jose, we can stroll around with our baby without inhaling pee and weed or having to hear bums yell at each other. For about 10 years, Bill's Cafe and Aqui's used to be the only place I went to get decent food and drinks (mmmm...Industrial Strength Swirls!), but now there are many places to choose from. Yuki Sushi has great sushi and sake samplers, I enjoyed a Mediterranean omelette from John's, the sweet rice and mango from Blue Mango was yummy, and the burgers I had at Main Street Burgers were excellent. Every time I'm in the neighborhood I must have ice cream in a waffle cone from Willow Glen Creamery! I have yet to try Stumpy's, I'm excited to check out the new Opa, and I still need to know why The Table is getting so many good reviews. I just realized there's a lot more restaurants I need to check out. I should come here more often! I wish there was more parking and maybe I could give this place 5 stars!

Trick-or-treat on the ave 2015

This is for the Trick-or-treat event they have every year here for the kids. It's a petty long few blocks that the kids walk up one side then cross to the other side of the street and walk down the other side. It's great that about 80% of the businesses pass out candy to the kids. My kids have fun every year. We looking forward to next year. I need to get down to willow glen more to support local businesses here. There plenty of good places to eat and also some great places with dessert. Thanks Willow Glen business owners for taking care of the kids

Downtown WG is a great spot. Whatever time of the day it is, there is something here you can do, or eat or just hang out. There are plenty of places to go for breakfast. The Starbucks is pretty much at the end of Lincoln, but Pete's Coffee, Noahs Bagels and Jamba Juice is right smack center of Downtown WG. My favorite brunch spot is Bills Café, they get pretty busy, but if you are lucky they will seat you right away. Oh and they have great mimosas, they put strawberries in theirs to look fancy. For something quick I grab bagels from Noahs or donuts at Manleys. If you like fast food, the only one they have is Jack in the Box. There are plenty of coffee spots that I have not tried out here yet. When it comes to lunch there are so many options. They did just open up a Main Street Burger that I want to try out. But when it comes to pizza they have Round Table, Willow Street Pizza, Jakes Pizza or Pizza My Heart. There is Chinese food, nothing I like. They have Opa, new bigger spot right in the center of WG. They have Sushi, my favorite spot Yuki Sushi. There is also a LeBuolanger for sandwiches. I really like Crepevine which is not just sweet stuff, it's a must try if you haven't already. If you are looking for something sweet, they have a nice little candy store called Powell's that has everything. But if you are looking for ice cream there's a Baskin Robin, Willow Glen Creamery or Yogurt Cove. All very nice places to get something sweet. You can do Aqui for dinner or just drinks. There is also a place called Goosetown, but I've only eaten there for lunch. There is Subway for something quick. There are other Mexican restaurants if that's what you are looking for but nothing fantastic that I've found yet. Oh and if you are looking for your bank I think they have all of them. BofA, Wells, Chase, Citibank all within walking distance. A must do in WG is when they have Dancing on The Avenue, where they close off the street for a one day festival. Lots of fun. The one thing I wish they did have was a good Pho and pearl drink spot!

I'd have to say that Downtown Willow Glen is a hotspot in the Bay! Tons of good eats, shops, salons and nail places for those that care to pamper themselves! Just to give you a snapshot of the places that attract MY attention, let me throw up a list: Crepvine Yuki Sushi Taiwan Restaurant Bertucelli's La Villa Powell's Sweet Shoppe Willow Street Wood-Fired Pizza Willow Glen Frozen Yogurt & Ice Cream Shy Salon CVS As you can see, this strip pretty much has everything covered! I didn't list ALL of the restaurants, but it is pretty diverse. From pizza, sushi, crepes, burritos, and painting your own pottery, you won't be disappointed. Keep in mind that it does get pretty crowded on weekends, so expect long wait times and lines. I guess you can say that is expected for any hotspot in the Bay right? Conclusion: Great place to stroll, eat, shop, splurge, and get pampered! Parking can be an issue at times, so plan accordingly!

Living in the area for about ten years now, I've come to love this charming town. I'd say it's more of a family-oriented neighborhood & the locals are quite friendly. During the weekend it's thriving with families, dog walkers, & shoppers. There's something for everyone with a good variety of restaurants, boutiques, & coffee shops all along Lincoln Avenue. The town also offers various events throughout the year. My personal favorite is Ladies Night Out which is two times a year & a free event. Christmas is another beautiful time of year with the tree lighting ceremony & Christmas Tree Lanes. Truly, Willow Glen has a strong sense of community & is a lovely little town.

Willow Glen is now a nightmare with it's lane closures called the "road diet" from Minnesota to Coe.

My adventures in employment always lead me to new territory for exploring!…read more OK, I'm just going to come clean here. I'm a bit directionally impaired and half the adventure is just getting myself there! You tell me South I go North, left and I turn right! So wAen I arrived at the Garden Theater Plaza, saw the old, colorful theater decor on the outside, I entered with my typical hazy-eyed confusion. A pleasant surprise, the theater has been renovated to house a bevy of local businesses including a sushi restaurant, bridal store, fro yo shop, the post office, 2 hair salons, a nail place, and a cafe. It's so convenient that I barely even make it outside during lunch. The clear winner is Top Nosh, whose baking mastery makes its tempting presence known to even the upstairs offices and my growling stomach. And on Saturdays (May thru November, 8:30 am - 12:30 pm) the Garden Theater holds the Willow Glen Farmer's Market. My biggest suggestion for improvement? The elevator could use some immediate updating too. I'm sure that Mr. Otis would understand as it is a bit crotchety in its old age. Although it's been reliable and hasn't failed me yet (hopefully, that won't lead to a review update), quirkiness is not the best characteristic in an elevator! I scheduled online to complete the ppwk to pick up a firearm for Wednesday, April 29th @ 9:00am. I know that getting there early on the weekdays is the key to not having to wait in line. I got there about 9:02am. I told the gentleman, a middle-aged Latino man with a gray beard and mustache, at the gun counter that I had a 9:00am appointment. He told me that he wasn't ready and was still setting up and to join the queue by registering at the kiosk. I registered at the kiosk and got a text from Bass Pro at 9:35am that my 9:00am appointment had been cancelled. Now, I was number five in the queue and it was now 10:45am. I had to leave for another appointment. I was not a happy camper. Driving to my next appointment, I called for a manager. I told Marcos the situation and he would get back to me to investigate what transpired. He called and left a message. His message relayed that I didn't get there until 9:16am and that there were several customers ahead of me so my appointment could not be accepted. That was the most ridiculous thing I ever heard; someone was trying to cover their @ss or @asses. This will be my last purchase at Bass Pro stores and I will shop from an independent store where they take accountability and take care of their customers.

I have to say, it's a nice change of pace. Lately, I've started popping in here before I hit up Target, and I've found some surprising stuff. I actually found a doorknob here that Home Depot had for like 3X, and a new hose for the house. My pre-teen daughter has even come around on the clothes, which is a miracle in itself, and she's super excited about the beauty section. My only complaint is that I found a new shirt here for the exact same price as a used one at the thrift store, which felt like a complete foul on my part! But other than that, it's a solid place. They have tons of clothes and a good selection of household items. I hope they stay because they seem new and busy right now, so fingers crossed!
