Without question, the best contractor experience ever. Juan and his crew are not only masters at landscape design, they are craftsmen, and frankly, artisans too. Their attention to detail on the joinery of our new redwood retaining wall and deck railing replacement far exceeded my highest expectations. I recognize woodworking is not NASA, but with these guys, it might as well have been. Precision, craft, kindness, dependability, and fair pricing = 10/10. My only regret is that Juan and his crew aren't general contractors, bc we'd have them do everything! Included Photos: After/Before Side note: I also appreciate that Juan's crew were consistently the same guys day after day for our large (to us) project. That tells me his guys are treated well and have chosen to stick with him as employees rather than one-off contractors. A++ read more

Juan/Giant Landscaping helped transform our yard! Our front and back yards had become overgrown with weeds and dead plants. Juan helped us decide on native, drought resistant plants that would be easy for us to maintain. He provided expert guidance and was easy to communicate with. After just the first day we were thrilled to be able to actually see our yard with the weed removal! Juan and his crew were always professional and kind. It seemed like there was nothing they couldn't do! In addition to plants, they paved the front curb area of our sidewalk, installed a gate at the top of our basement stairs, and painted our concrete in the backyard. Each request was met with options and a professional opinion which made the whole experience seamless. We would recommend Juan/Giant Landscaping again and again! read more

I'm going on 7 years now with Juan and his team and they are outstanding. Best landscapers I've ever had.

Every spring when our cherry tree blossoms, we think of Juan and how grateful we are for the love and care. Great service, and a great person. I recommend Giant Landscaping to one and all. Juan and his team have been working for us for almost twenty years and have done an incredible job in every way. Installation. Maintenance. All of it. They started by upgrading our plants and putting in a new lawn. They installed a beautiful patio, planted trees, put in a basketball half-court and hoop for our sons and built and a beautiful planter's box on our deck and filled it with white azaleas that we look out at from our kitchen every day. Juan can build and design anything and has even replaced our wood deck and back stairs. He also ordered and planted a large tree in front of our house, planted a cherry tree and maple in the back, and installed our irrigation. Juan is resourceful, industrious, has real integrity, maintains our property beautifully, and is always there when we call with a question or concern. We have been fortunate to have been in our house for over twenty years, and even more fortunate that we have had Juan to take care of us all of this time. read more

I knew that I would get on with Juan the moment he first came round to look at the garden; he surveyed the area and I told him approximately what I wanted. He then came round and we spent a couple of hours making and refining a plan. He then gave me a line by line estimate - from what he thought the plants would cost to what his workers earned. I've never had so much transparency before. Then his workers started ,what a great crew they are very accommodating and what a laugh we had. Juan came by every couple of days to see what had been done although he was in constant contact both with me and with the crew by phone, text and photos. I cannot recommend this company enough - from the transparency, to information and recommendation on the plants. It was a fairly long project in rain and wind ( around Christmas) to 70 degrees in February. The garden is beautiful , exceeded my vision. Thank you Juan read more

Juan and Giant have been taking care of our landscaping for over a decade. He always makes sure his crews know what to work on when they arrive. His fertilizer program has made a real difference in the appearance of our yard. Definitely knows his stuff on plant selection. We have never even thought of using anyone else - for sure worth the money. read more

Juan is super responsive, helpful and reliable. His crew is great. Giant went above and beyond on our hardscaping project. Highly recommend!

Great gardening service! They will help select and when needed swap out plants, and reliably arrive when they say they will. Super friendly and easy communication, too. read more

Juan and his team far exceeded my expectations! Great communication, professional and trustworthy. They provided a competitive estimate, yet the final bill was lower! Juan explained they didn't end up needing to dump as much soil so he removed that charge. I would have never noticed so greatly appreciated his honesty and work ethic! I was so happy with the end result - it was immaculate. And they cleaned up any mess that was made in the house from transporting gravel through our home to the backyard. My experience was excellent and I would highly recommend them! read more

Great experience with Juan and team! I've used them twice -- once for a complicated job involving moving pavers in my backyard and cutting roots from a tree and once for general yard clean up / maintenance. Both times they did a great job -- very professional and exceeded my expectations. read more

Juan and his team have been looking after our garden in Bernal for 15 years now, from when we lived there to when we sadly had to move and started renting to tenants. The whole time, they've been great at helping us maintain and stay ahead of issues to keep everything healthy. Our tenants have only good things to say whenever I ask. I would recommend Giant without hesitation. read more

We've been customers of Giant since 2021. We can recommend working with Juan and his team. They've done maintenance and a few upgrades and repairs for our landscaping. They're easy to work with, communicate well and most importantly do a consistently good job year in and year out. This is in contrast to another well known service we worked with perviously which did a great job with the design and install but the quality of the maintenance fell off after a few years. We are going to start a second project with Giant in a few weeks. read more

We've been using Giant Landscaping for about three years to maintain both the front and back of our home, and they do an exceptional job! Juan and his crew did a terrific job installing an irrigation system in my yard, including drip lines to pots on my deck. Juan worked with me, taking notes and offering expert advice, until we came up with a plan that pleased me. The result has not only greatly enhanced my garden, but brought peace of mind knowing my plants will be watered. In fact soon after Juan installed the system I was away on vacation during an intense heat wave. When I returned all my plants were in good shape! Thank you Juan and I look forward to working with you again in the future. read more

We have had an excellent experience with Giant Landscaping for the past two and a half years. Juan outlined a plan for cleanup of our yard in 2021 when it was really overgrown due to the pandemic. After that, he and his team began regular maintenance visits, caring for our plants as well as our trees. They have also power washed and cleaned the hard surfaces, reseeded our small lawn, and helped rebuild a very large planter that holds an ornamental tree. The crew are experienced, thorough, and easy to work with. Juan is an outstanding central point of contact and very responsive. I really appreciate that Giant Landscaping hauls away the green waste so that our bin isn't excessively full. We are able to fully enjoy our yard thanks to their help! I highly recommend Giant Landscaping for their attention to detail and professionalism. read more

Giant Landscaping: I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them. Very professional, meticulous, accommodating to my request, and honest. Moreover, friendly and polite. read more

Juan and his crew are impeccable. Don't even think about hiring another landscaper. Juan was recommended by our architect, whose yard he landscaped. Juan and his team listened closely to our needs and vision for a new backyard space in SF. They have us great ideas based on our lifestyle and life stage. His quote was realistic and he continually communicated at every step of the process. Now we have a backyard that we are proud of, and will actually use. Giant didn't just meet our expectations, but exceeded them in 2 specific instances: first, a gopher showed up and began devouring our brand new garden the very first week! Juan insisted that he'd cover the cost of the gopher removal service. Second, Juan and his crew accelerated our schedule to meet a specific deadline for a birthday party. He didn't have to do either of these....but he did them both. Hats off. Giant Landscaping is the only landscaper I'll ever use. read more

Giant Landscaping - Catio grass, custom cut by Juan! - Gardeners Near Me

Juan, the owner of Giant Landscaping and his entire team are exceptional at what they do. I recently purchased a new home in the Cole Valley area of SF and wanted to redo the back yard. Juan responded to my inquiry instantly, and was able to come out to the house and provide me a bid within a week of calling. In addition to incorporating all the ideas I had for the work I wanted done, he gave amazing suggestions to make the end result even more amazing. He was always aware of my budget and offered several options to provide a wonderful end result and keep on budget or even come in under budget (as I did). The best surprise of all was how much detail go into the work they do, I had no idea. The demo, the prep work to build a beautiful garden along with all the various steps towards the end made the whole project turn out much better than I had expected. It's clear his team respects him very much, as they work hard and many of them have worked for him for years. Juan himself jumps in to do the work when needed, which I thought was very cool an owner isn't above getting his hands dirty. I highly recommend Giant landscaping, and you'll love working with Juan. He's extremely friendly, knowledgeable, and a detailed oriented person. read more

Giant Landscaping FLAKES. I called these guys because of the already stellar yelp reviews and I was scheduled for a prompt consultation for my yard, in which I needed some hardscaping fixed. Juan and crew came out to offer me a rough quote, and said he would send along an estimate. The estimate was never sent. I followed up days later by phone, asking if I would ever get the estimate. I got an email back saying I'd have an estimate that evening. That was a week ago. No estimate, no follow-up. Guess they must be overflowing with business. It's been weeks since Giant came out to my place, and I was really, really looking forward to their services. All I can assume is that I'm not deserving of their services because I have a low-bid (under $1000) project. I have to wonder exactly how much money I'd need to spend to be worth their while. :-( Shame. Was looking forward to getting my patio fixed, and if that went well, hiring them on for much more extensive landscape overhauling. read more

Juan and his crew at Giant did great work tearing out old steps that were not built to code and rebuilding a small deck/landing, removing old fencing and rebuilding a new one, pulling out overgrown plants and a diseased tree, and cleaning and pressure-washing the concrete surfaces in our yard. Here's what you get working with Giant: * Communication: we always knew exactly what was going on, when, and for how long * Responsiveness: Juan is reachable by phone and text message whenever you have questions * Diligence: The crew offered to work weekends to speed up the project, which doesn't work for everyone but was perfect for us * Organization: The team keeps the work area tidy and stores equipment after hours * Transparency: We knew what costs would be at all times; if there were options, Juan personally explained the pros and cons and costs * Quality: They take the time to do the work right; our fence is very solid, the deck/landing is also, and level despite a downward slope to the yard; the team took time to fix issues with retaining walls uncovered along the way * Knowledge: Juan knows what will work, what will look good, and will recommend options, assuming you are not an expert landscaper yourself All of the above were very important to us. If they are important to you, you should choose Giant. read more

Juan and his team are top notch! We hired them when a property line dispute required us to move our back fence 10 feet into our garden. Juan and his team moved trees, rose bushes, hardscape, lawn, irrigation, lighting, etc and helped us adjust the rest of the garden. We didn't lose any plants or trees thanks to Juan's expertise. They did such a fantastic job, we hired them on for weekly maintenance (have hired/fired three gardeners before we met Juan). We have worked with other landscape companies, but Juan's team is so much more professional, polite and hard-working. When Juan says he will do something, he does. You would be lucky to work with him. read more

Juan and his team are hands down one of the best at what they do. Their work is amazingly exceptional. Giant Landscaping was our best sub contractor for our project. We performed an extensive remodel of a 5 unit apartment building in San Francisco. Since the landscaping was the part of our renovation we knew least about, I was nervous in finding someone who could help in all aspects, particularly someone who could translate my rough ideas into reality. Juan was knowledgable, stayed within budget, and overall very dependable. I will use Giant on all landscaping projects in the future. read more
