I'm so disappointed. I've been using Giant Direct Delivery for 4 years and have been very pleased with food quality, order accuracy and delivery service until now. The Giant Direct employed delivery people were always very polite, came with carts, and food was sorted into bins by pantry, refrigerated and frozen. Things were still cold/frozen when I received them at my apartment door, and carefully packed. My last 4 orders were delivered by third party (Instacart and Door Dash). What a disaster. The name with phone number they provide for communication was usually inactive. They no longer deliver them to my door, they're left in the lobby or entryway. There are way more brown shopping bags than necessary because most have only 2 or 3 items in them. They usually just pull them out of their cars, with no proper temp control or carts. The text message I received this week was "I'm here. I don't have a cart. Bring one". I asked them to confirm which entrance they were at and they sent me a picture of all the bags on the lobby floor, then they left. I've called Giant corporate, and while the support people on the phone are polite, they don't do anything to resolve the root issue. They offer a Giant GC. I told them to keep it, I'm done with Giant because I still believe customer service is critical. I happen to be on a cane sporadically because I have knee and hamstring issues. Long walks can be difficult and even impossible at times. Delivery to my apartment door is important to me. Leaving these grocery deliveries in my lobby is like leaving them a block away, and then I have to load my cart and walk it back myself. Why exactly should I tip them? I don't know why Giant changed the service but I wish they hadn't. Good luck to future Giant delivery service customers! read more

Now you've got people who, contrary to my instructions, dump groceries at door when instructed NOT TO, don't even let me know they're here. This is closer to the Pottstown pike and nestled in a strip mall that has a lot of stores like Panera bread, home sense, pizza shops, etc. There is plenty of parking and might be a little busy to get in and get out of the area. The shop has all that you would expect in a grocery store, have got vegetables section that I shop a lot, then usual groceries , canned foods etc, they do have take out section of cooked food. They do have a sea good section and meat section. They have a fruits section and have a great collection of fruits here. Recently shopped for flowers at this location and found that they have nice varieties of bouquet at all price points. The checkout was easy to get out. Check out this, and they have a Starbucks inside this location!!! read more

Dealt with a rude and what seem to be a racist employee today while paying for my groceries. This employee did not even once gave me eye contact, said absolutely nothing to me, seemed like she was bothered and the look in her face seemed like she was disgusted with the fact that she had to check us out!. Customer Service is rude and nasty. I tried to get them to help me with a gift card that wouldn't work. She said I didn't have the proper paper (but SHE was the one that reissued the card. My granddaughter tried to use the card and it kept coming back declined. She hid in s back room and said the card was activated and used with a .33 balance. Told them I hope they enjoy my $100.00 because I'm done with them. read more

One stop shop for a lot of things. Got a rebox movie for the night. A powerball ticket. Hit the coinstar for all my change. Got a frozen pizza to eat with my movie rental that night. I also needed some thing to eat for breakfast before work for the week. I found these stuffed hash browns that actually turned out to be more like hot pockets. But it's nice to come here and get all my shopping done for the week. Snacks dinners and lunches. Also the place is clean and fairly quiet. Our cashier was also very nice. She made small talk further than hi how are you. She asked us where we are from and it was sweet. read more

Very disorganized. Items placed in wrong shelves or marked with incorrect pricing. Have to pay attention to the billing else there will always be something incorrect. In the last 10 visits every time there will be one or more incorrectly billed items, because they did not update pricing in their system vs what's shown in the aisles. When you use their Starbucks counter and you get all milk and whip cream and no coffee.. something is wrong the older lady working the counter needs to get her stuff together. I had a bad experience with an employee ... Which was weird and surreal, because if you see prior previews ... Employees here, have been good to me. So... In going bout the routine survey fill out, the usual "impressed with staff", this time was otherwise. I was beyond frustrated. I felt I was dealing with a "Karen", meets a trust fund kid who threatens you with Daddy's money. Not at the beginning mind you. She was just aggressively "No" about the assist. I asked a question, at first .. but she did Not want to be approached much less assist, and let me know it. And each question led to more annoyance. As the interaction synthesized in my brain, I realized I wanted to fill out the Giant survey, to include-the-rude. But i did not have her name. I approached the counter and could not see her tag. So I took a pic. To jot the deets, like: long hair, not bad looking, female, early to mid twenties... But then she saw me. Which was Not the low profile I intended (at first). Cause I thought a rude review, was already enough response. She approached me and didn't like the pic part. She went on a bit about "Can't do." Which I heard, but also... Saw her name tag and said that's ok, I'll delete it, as I really just wanted a name (identifier), for the report (survey). I was nervous, as I don't like hurting people's feelings. So while she gave me the ins and outs of photo-no no. I grabbed my phone ..deleted and showed her the delete. She was still upset... Told me I need to delete it from Trash, Or I still have it, and that she needed to see me delete it from Trash.. The words were acceptable, her manner and loud and aggressive we're getting weird, for me. And. I haven't ever unloaded Trash from a phone. She was telling me that she was going to call the cops on me, (I don't think she believed the part about exchanging the pic, for her name.) Here, it all started to germinate that her aggressive from before was now broaching ... You done me wrong and I will ? set the cops on you. I started feeling akin to the "Karen" escalations I've seen on you tube. She warned me she was going to call the cops. Now she was loudly "Call the cops", Call the cops, a call to arms to anyone who'd listen until the customer service desk, which, I believe said something that made her respond with.." whaddya mean you're not calling the cops?" Still, cops aside, I felt like this was too much. My uncomfortable level was higher than supermarket norms. Her manager came over and nicely tried to show me that in Giant it's not ok to take the pic. I showed the delete to him. And he illustrated to me, the importance of ...going through managers to get the name. I told him I understood that he had the job (to manage me also), but, felt like objectively, this was looking like more and more, me to blame. He told me he would have same meeting with her. (Except I don't get paid to perform a duty) ....I called Giant Customer Service and was told, there are no laws and rules about taking pics. I could photograph whole store if I had wanted. And all employees as well. So. The manager had shined me on. I hadn't thought that it would affect me to the point of not going back. But it's been some time, and I haven't gone back once. There was a woman at the supervisor area, who was extremely supportive. I wrote down her name and can't find it. Thought it started with a T. Unusual name. Pretty. I've been eaten by a pit bull before, and this felt strangely similar ugly.. can't thank that woman enough for giving me the assist. Will keep looking for her name. THANKS for the past, Giant (not sarcasm). But I'm gonna wave off the future. "Karens" aren't a comfortable-shopper business policy. Nor is being yelled at, in a scene causing manner. Good luck with your bakery department. Please note, she didn't want to help me in the first place. Hence, the trust fund baby, reference. Also. The reason I was so prone to the surveys, is because I used to be a manager myself, and appreciated the straight dope. It helps run a tight ship. Looks like you guys got a loose cannon. Nice store but self checkout is a nightmare. Every time I use it and I scan the items I ALWAYS get the annoying "Help is on the way" Same thing happened this morning with 4 customers. The "attendant" was no where to be found. When she did show up I was already frustrated because I had ice cream that was melting. She proceeded to deride me for getting upset. I am so sad that I have to write this; I always really liked this Giant. However, over the past year - 2years, it has gone down hill. I am so frustrated at the lack of hustle in the staff, the shelves are empty, things aren't placed in the proper place according to the signs, example... the other day I needed pie crusts for Thanksgiving. They aren't where they always are. I see the label where they should be, but nothing. I walked up and down isles hoping they would have a special display, but nothing. I go back to where they should be and start the search again, nothing. Finally I asked a young man to help, 20 minutes later (no joke, 20 minutes) I see him again he is going about his business and not looking for me - I walked up to him and asked, "did you find them?" "No", he answers, "we are all out". Now for those who are wondering - yes, I stayed put so he could easily find me. I am shocked and in complete disbelief thar he would leave me standing there, but he did! On my way out of the store I stopped at the customer service counter to ask if they might know if a shipment of pie crusts was do in the next day. The lady there called a manager to help... "oh, they are in a special case, follow me" so I did. No signs marked the special display, which was in a box fridge that you had to lean over to see into, like a freezer at home, in the section with the frozen breakfast foods and rolls. Are you kidding me? Now I had to go through the checkout line again - the Tuesday before THANKSGIVING. Tonight was the last straw for me - I'm tired, want to get in and out to pick up a few things, went to get my iced tea - the kind I need is only available in singles, not a 6 pack, which was 1.80 less, (and this is completely typical for them to be out of the best seller and bare shelves). I need q-tips, but an employee is sitting on the floor setting up a nail polish display blocking my way with her cart. I walk around the isle to come down the other way to get them, she still doesn't even acknowledge that I am there let alone that she is blocking me. I go for my face wash cloths - none there, empty shelf space. I go to get bread - you would have thought the snow storm of the century was on its way - NO MAIERS BREAD - NONE! Empty shelves and messy displays of picked over store-brand loaves... I'm completely dumbfounded from the display's condition. I thought about asking for someone to check the back - but I didn't have 20 minutes to wait for no one to return. I'm sorry, but I'm done - I'm tired of going for fresh herbs only to find there isn't any basil or oregano just tons of sage and rosemary, I'm tired of having to get my 6 packs of tea as singles and then make them adjust at the counter, I'm tired of having to ask if they have Vidalia onions in the back, or even trying to find bone-in pork chops, even at the butcher counter. I'm tired of going there, then having to go to Target to get everything they were out of... It is so sad, but I'm done with this store. read more

I spent about $8,000 a year on food shopping for my family. I think any company that gets that much of families hard earned money should put a little effort into not treating their customers like crap. I have been holding out on switching over to Wegman's but my recent experiences at this store are driving me to make the move and my money. I will say unless the manager "Sue" is working you can almost bet on an extremely frustrating experience. Sue always smiles and says hello, will open lanes if it's busy, helps bag if needed. I wish I knew her schedule it would make it a much nicer shopping experience. The last time I was there the cashier was LOUDLY audibly complaining to the shift manager during my checkout about how she didn't want to work. She was rude and unhelpful. The lunchmeat workers were sighing disdainfully and grumbling everytime a new ticket came in. Look, I don't want to be here either but I don't go around ramming my cart into stuff out of annoyance. The veiled hostility to the customers is getting worse and worse... The produce is good, the meat guys do a good job, the dairy is never expired but good luck not feeling like your a pain in the @ss for daring to go grocery shopping. read more

Don't go here. The staff is unfriendly and unhelpful. Besides the store being renovated right now (means it's an absolute wreck inside and totally disorganized), even when it's not this place will leave you frustrated. The weekly sales often times do not ring up properly, so you have to pay attention to every little item being scanned, which is very hard to do when you're there with children. Supermarket is generally clean and nicely stocked. They have a decent but small beer selection. My biggest complaint is their self checkout. The glass on the scanners are almost always dirty and dont read half the time which makes the checkout process longer and holds up the line! Instead of standing there playing with your phone or picking at your nails, the self checkout assistant should probably clean the glass scanner and refill the plastic bags which are also sometimes empty! Try a regular checkout line, it often times empty. read more

Unfortunately I live much closer to both Giant supermarkets in Exton PA than to Wegman's, but when I have a little time I prefer to drive 15-20 minutes (and shop at Wegman's Downingtown or Malvern) instead of only 4 minutes to get to Giant. Even after they renovated both stores there is no way we can compare Giant to Wegman's, especially the treatment from cashiers, customer service, quality of food, etc. And for some months cashiers are asking customers if we haven't forgotten "something in the lower basket (in case you have a double basket cart)" as if we were for sure trying to steal items from them. I went here this morning at about 5:30 AM. The aisles were cluttered with a lot of boxes, which I can understand due to restocking needs. I passed numerous employees as I was shopping and I overheard them talking about gossip, parents, and sexual innuendos, as if I wasn't even there. Their conversation made me feel very uncomfortable and they seemed like they felt no need to stop as I rolled my shopping cart down the aisle that they were working on. My cashier was also rather unfriendly, and questioned me about every coupon that I presented to him. I used to work in a grocery store, so I understand how coupons work, and I made sure that all of my coupons were appropriate and applied to my order, but I was question on every One of them. They just seemed rude, disorganized, and unfriendly. The store however, was clean and easy to shop. Giants deals for certain weeks are pretty good, and their prices can be better than other grocery stores from time to time, but overall, I will not make this store a regular spot from my grocery shopping. The fact that they double coupons that are less than one dollar is a strong draw, though. Decent store. read more

Knowing there would be a large crowd shopping the weekend before Christmas, Giant of Fairfax Shopping Center at Exton, PA, not only failed to prepare for the crowds, but contributed to their difficulties and made their shopping experience more miserable than it needed to be. Instead of clearing the entry way to accommodate more people, they made it narrower than usual, by blocking the path with large display tables of Christmas cookies, stuck right in the way of traffic. Only one cart could pass through at a time. And in that one remaining narrow path, they put a Rewards Card kiosk that formed a line, completely obstructing the entry way. It was the most unwelcoming, most stupid entrance planning I have ever seen in any store. If they had any sense, they would have cleared the entryway, which normally would easily accommodate four or five carts. As I watched, I saw no one interested in the cookies; everyone was frantically trying to get inside the store somehow. Upon entrance you would soon notice that Giant had even constructed multiple displays in each and every aisle, making it impossible for two carts to pass. Everyone doing groceries for the holidays is in a hurry and come with a list of items. In the midst of this type of traffic, you will not be giving people "ideas" by putting up cardboard displays and blocking their way. If I can't get to the items I want to buy, I'm certainly not going to buy additional unneeded items from those obnoxious displays that have added to my frustration. It is like waiting until rush hour, and then maliciously closing lanes just to infuriate and inconvenience people. If Giant had any respect for people, or cared about their customers, they would have removed all kiosks and displays from the aisles. The Managers cannot possibly be so unintelligent as to think throwing obstacles at people in their most hurried time, is going to help their business. It just makes people never want to come back to their store. I, for one, will probably need months to recover from how angry and frustrated Giant made me in the store today. To top it off, the manager made it more difficult to find products, by moving them from their familiar places and hid them in completely different parts of the store. One particular product I wanted to buy, green beans, took me 20 minutes to find, because they were hidden in the middle of the flower section by the far exit doors. It is impossible for anyone to find them in that weird location. This was obviously not the only product they moved to obscure location for the holidays. Customers had to ask employees to guide them to these relocated products. This added a lot more time and traffic in the aisles. Each stock clerk had a line of customers waiting their turn to get help finding something. That caused more bottlenecks in the narrow aisles, and more confusion, as frustrated customers had to wait 10- 15 minutes for their turn to speak with an employee. I can imagine how Giant employees felt, working for a company that seemed not to care about them or their customers. All I will remember about today is the excruciatingly painful experience I had, shopping at Giant. They created a painful obstacle course that obviously and visibly angered everyone in the store. They aggravated the crowding by rearranging product locations so every customer was stuck in the store an extra 20 or 30 minutes. After 15 years of shopping at Giant, I will not be coming back anytime soon. Maybe I will return again someday, but it will take months to get over the frustration I suffered today. It was not the crowd's fault, it was Giant's fault. It was very avoidable, and very inexcusable. read more

Both, my wife and I, dread going into this store because of the poor service and attitude of the individuals working the cash registers. With few exceptions, they are not helpful and don't know the first thing about courtesy or customer service. I've always liked this Giant, however lately the food quality is terrible. Fresh fruits are rotten within 24 hours. They have to do buy one/get one because in reality between the two cartons you can only salvage enough fruit to equal the "buy one". So far this week I've thrown out almost half of a package of strawberries and one full container of blackberries. This has been happening regularly. In addition, if I shop around 7:00 a.m. I can't even get my cart through the aisles. There are so many boxes and cartons blocking the aisle, just waiting to be put on the shelves. Giant, with so much competition from Wegmans, Sams, Acme, Shoprite, Target, Walmart, etc, please get your act together. It is not too much to ask to have stocked shelves, fresh fruit that lasts longer than one day, and a clean store that is easy to navigate. I would love to be converted back to a happy Giant customer. read more

If I didn't have a small child and husband at home I would have raised heck in this store tonight. The utter disrespect for the consumer from the cashier I had the misfortune of meeting tonight was one for the record books. I work in healthcare and after a long day of treating MY patients with care, I stopped to grab a few essentials for dinner. The cashier was rude, inept, and disrespectful to the costumer ahead of me. When it was my turn, he huffed and puffed when HE misheard me about how many heavy item I had on the bottom of my cart. After heaving them onto his scan pad, he added one more than necessary (despite me telling him I PUT THEM ALL UP FOR HIM) then said "man I asked you how many you had..." Really!?!!?! First off I am a lady not a "man." Second off, perhaps whatever you smoked on your break had your mind cluttered. To top things off when he was supposed to activate my gift card he added it to the total...only an extra $100. The douchebag manager was no better, and the fellow cashier who attempted to help him seemed about as happy as a hostage. I left without using my gift card because between the three of them they couldn't figure out the issue. My family will NEVER return here I don't care if its the last place on Earth. I only wish my husband was there to meet this winner and put him in his place. Horrible! read more
