I like shopping at Shoregate Giant Eagle and I like the pharmacy. My complaint is that the Women's restroom is horrible. The entrance door is horrible too, could use some paint. The inside restroom needs help. This is a real drawback to your store. I hope I don't need it again until some improvement is done. read more

I stop in here once in a while, it's my main grocery store, but it is my pharmacy and bakery. The pharmacy workers are great, always quicker than I expect them to be, and they go the extra mile to help see if GoodRx is better than my insurance (it almost always is) and they are overall just friendly! The bakery always exceeds my expectation. I love their muffins and pastries and come here for Paczkis and other special things throughout the year. This past weekend I ordered a sheet cake for a family party, it was beautiful. We ordered the white cake with the strawberries inside, EVERYONE loved it. I've never seen a cake go over so well at an adult party! Shark was the worker who assisted me Sunday morning and shout out, because everything was perfect! I jumped right in line, almost no wait which was a miracle on a Sunday morning and because I was running late and holding a heavy cake! The woman who checked me out (sorry I lost the little survey slip in the party set up) was so friendly and commented on how beautiful the cake was and wished me a good time! I love that kind of friendly interaction. Speaking of friendly interaction, I didn't see Benny on Sunday, but any time I do, I head to his line, he is soooo friendly! He makes great bakery suggestions for me and is just always in a good mood despite the chaos around him in that place! read more

Man I don't know what happened to this place. Could be the state of the world, poor management, supply chain or whatever but they are always out of essentials. Produce sucks, meat is over priced and mostly out of stock. What was once my favorite local grocer has slipped to the point that I decided to make this review. I hope they turn it around. read more

MindBlown at the birthday cake! They went above and beyond with the detail from the ribbons tied around the bottom of the balloons to layer enough the orange and brown on the cursive! The rainbow moist cake was so pretty and yummy too! Mostly I am mind blown at the customer service in the bakery and the detail in the cake! I'll def purchase from this location when I'm back on Ohio once every three weeks! read more

The one thing I don't like about this giant eagle location is that the employees are never willing to pick up the pace..The lines are always ridiculously long & self check out rarely gets tended to. Causing you to spend more time at checkout than shopping itself. A quick trip, always turns into so much more. However, I think their fresh fruit & veggie selections are better here than other local competitors. But honestly, we don't visit too often because of the check out process itself. I wish management would try to implement additional training or resources to keep the lines moving more efficiently. Possibly, even open additional registers to accommodate shoppers. read more

We went here yesterday, bought two bottles of wine and needed help at the checkout, we used self checkout. The black woman working there was to busy talking and laughing with another employer, she totally ignored us. A lady working the service counter saw us standing there and came to help! It's a grocery store, what can I say. There's a moderate selection of organics, and wines which I appreciate. The fuel perks program is somewhat helpful if you buy here regularly also. I couldn't help but notice the lingering smell of rotting fish somewhere between Tofu, and Rieslings. It's close to me, so it's a staple. read more

Normal grocery store as far as they go but what a maze this store is! If I just go in for milk I bring my hiking shoes! It's way way back tucked in a hidden corner. It's weird layout is not super conducive to quick efficient shopping at all. Prices seem high like most grocery stores except Trader Joe's :) (had to give a shout out for Joe's!!). Let me tell you about the bakery at this location. Hot mess! First of all ,I heard about this bakery before but you know, I decided to go ahead a purchase a cake anyway. I wanted a tiny cake for my son's birthday, the one inside the cake case was cute; light blue with brown decorations on the top and bottom of the cake and white flowers. I told the young lady, that I wanted the same size cake but I wanted it with Almond flavoring and I wanted it to be a white cake. She says she can't do the white cake, she can only do the yellow cake. Okay fine, I'm not going to be the difficult customer and give her a hard time about it. So I get the yellow cake, now on to the decorations... I like the swirl design on the cake in the case but I don't want the white flowers because it's for a boy and I don't want the chocolate frosting I want something like a ombre piping, like half of the icing is blue and half of the icing is white. I thought that this was simple but this is what happened when you have trifling ass people that don't give a fuck about you or their job. "It's just another job". If I'm having a cake personalized for someone, then I think personally, you should give a fuck about your quality of work. The young lady behind the counter flags some lady over and asks her to assist her with a difficult order because she can't do this. What? Bitch you can't do your job and take down a simple fuckin' order? So now I have this older lady (and I'm not sure how she even got the position seeing as how she has extremely poor hygiene and she works in food services.) Trying to over look that part of it, I go on with my order feeling some kind of way and I say that I want the swirls but she makes a suggestion to put streamers on the cake. Once again I'm pissed because you don't give a fuck about what I want and how I want my son's cake to look like, you just want to do what the fuck you want to do. So okay fine, once again, I'm not trying to be a difficult customer, go ahead and put the funky ass streamers on the cake, that's cool. Now last but not least, of my order, all I want is a "J" on top of the cake. I pick up the cake the next day and let me tell you, it's not exactly how I pictured it but yet again, I'm not going to complain. There was a puny little crooked "J" on top with not only the lime green, light blue and white streamers but also dark green and dark blue. What? Is that what I ordered? Yet again, they want to do what they want to do. Time to eat: I get the cake and sing happy birthday and the cake is HORRIBLE!!!! The kids did not like it, I didn't like it at all and it make me sick to the stomach. The taste of almond was pungent and harsh and the whipped icing that I wanted, was not a good combination with the over powering almond. So I called and ask to bring it back. Now: I brought the cake back to the bakery and the lady there said I needed to take it to customer service. I explain the situation to customer service, got my money back and my son and I went over to pick out another cake. The baker was with another customer at the time so I had my son pick out a cake, (there were only four to choose from and one out of four was for a boy so it was a quick decision) While I waited, I told my son to go pick out another dessert just incase he saw something else he wanted. He did a quick look but didn't see anything that sparked his interest. By this time the lady is now done with the happy customer and she walks up to my son and I from behind the counter and says, "Are you ready yet, because I'm ready to go!" BITCH! Hold up! I'm like, "Really?" and she says, "Really." Are you fucking kidding me right now bitch you lucky I'm in front of my son right now and I don't dare curse in front of him? So I'm like, "How dare you talk to me like that and especially in front of a child? My child does not deserve to be treated like that on his birthday, it's bad enough he didn't like his cake and now this?" I told her I would be right back. I ended up getting a manager and telling him about the situation and he shakes he's head or whatever and walks over to bakery as the bitch is walking out of the door for the day . Thanks for the name tag bitch because I did't catch that her name was PATRICIA the first time. The poor guy has no clue what to do so he gets the cake and the box and sends us on our way in about a minute, it was just that simple. As for Patricia in bakery, I want her FIRED! That is no way to treat a customer or her child! I will never buy another cake from this location EVER! read more

All of my experiences with this paticular store have not been good. On several occasions they have messed up my husbands medication. If I hadn't noticed before I left the store there could have been some terrible consequences. read more

Its just down the street from me, so its convenient. I hate the new store lay out, and they keep moving things around. It would be awesome, if they would leave the store lay out alone. It is NOT user friendly, and the way things are set up, doesn't really make a lot of sense. I waste a lot of time wandering up and down aisles because I'm looking for things and quite frankly its a HUGE annoyance. There is a decent wine selection, and the closed coolers for dairy are a lot nicer looking and I can see where it is probably far more energy saving, so props for that. I do most if not all of my produce and meat shopping at Sweetberry now because they have better prices and much higher quality goods, and get the other items I need at Giant Eagle. I do use the GE pharmacy, and they have a good staff who works there. read more

I have shopped here for years and purchased a prime rib roast for my family's Christmas gathering as I had NEVER purchased a cut of meat from this store that I was disappointed with. Well, this time it didn't work out too well and I returned with the receipt. The manager, Steve, explained their refund policy which I had not met as I did not bring the roast in. However, he made things right and needless to say, I will be making future meat purchases here. They go above and beyond to ensure their customers are satisfied. read more

For the life of me I can't understand why the employees that work in the meat department at this location are so reluctant to wrap up any of the good steaks that are on display. Every time I request two Porterhouse steaks the workers feel the need to 'aggressively advise/suggest' the other steaks on sale already out on the floor. In most cases the steaks on the floor are not up to par with the displayed steaks. When I tell them that I don't want those steaks they either get irritated (complete with a deep sigh and eye roll) or tell me they need to cut some and it's going to 'take awhile'. What am I missing here?? For several months I chose to just drive further out to the Willoughby Commons location and get my steaks there but why should I have to go out of my way just to be able to purchase an item that's for sale peacefully?? I shouldn't have to make my request more than once and put up with a nasty attitude. Especially when these steaks are not free or cheap!! read more
