I love this store. It is clean and well stocked. Customer service is efficient and friendly. It is well managed, with manager often interacting with customers. Its reward program works for me. I dont get gas here, I choose to use my perks mainly for food--As gas is cheaper at BJs wholesale club. You have to check meat tho. Sometimes the expiration is that day. Yikes. Decent store, especially if you have flexibility to shop the store circular. I certainly, by far, prefer "The Eagle" to Meijers, but then I'm a Pittsburgh girl. I miss the $5 Friday donuts, but I've made the sacrifice to head over to Krogers $5 Friday donuts or, better yet, Costco's almond Danish. This Giant Eagle store is clean and well stocked with friendly employees. It is on the way for us and is much larger than our very small, former Big Bear store, closest to us. My biggest complaint is not something under the store's control. My GPS directs me TO the store, but leaving is impossible. I want Reynoldsburg New Albany Road. The GPS wants to put me on 161. That's out of the way. So I shut down the GPS and tried to retrace by steps and was frustrated when at a choice point, all the signs had some form of "New Albany E,N,W,S" in them. I was so confused, I thought I was in Pittsburgh! Bring your own bags. It's a good habit to get into. And it is slightly pricey, but your stuff lasts longer, so I think it's a wash. Cheap stores aren't so cheap when you have to throw things out because they have spoiled or have no taste. read more

Used to be much better, when they had prepared foods. COVID killed customer service. The prices are way more than Kroger's for the same exact items. Sometimes the items are of a higher quality, but not really worth twice as much. It is a very convenient location, right off the highway. Easy in, easy out. Bakery only review. Still not a fan of thawed donuts, but the cake items are excellent. My family is a big fan of ordering these delicious cakes. My wife regularly chooses the White Elegance cake. It's a crowd pleaser. Don't need a whole cake, order your favorite cake recipe as a a cupcake. Just one or more is fine. This last time we paid extra to have the cake sliced and individually packaged so that everyone could take a slice of birthday cake home with them. They are very accommodating. I know it's hard to judge a review when taste is what matters. All I can say is buy a slice or a cupcake to try it out. read more

This Giant eagle is a very clean store...I appreciate being able to purchase walleye fish as I had not had walleye in quite a few years and it was on sale at the time and I purchased quite a few fish. Giant eagle will not be my primary store to frequent as the prices are extremely high. Plus you just have to remember to bring your own bags as they charge for bags which I don't have a problem with, it's just that sometimes you just forget to bring your own bags. read more

I've never been a particular fan of GE. Okay, when they used to have super double coupons, and when I could get 30 gallons of gas for free. But they are overpriced and have less selection than other places. In this case it was handy, but they did not have what I wanted. I got one little thing and left. Poorly handled one-way entry and exit for social distancing: no markings for entrance/exit until you walk right up on them; should be visible from the parking lot since they are far apart. And yet, once you get into the atrium, people have to go in and out the same opening, so what's the point? And they have their other exit, by the prepared foods, closed. Usually this is a safe spot to grab a money order that is mobile deposit friendly. Unfortunately, the last time I went in for one, nobody cared to inform me their deposit system has now changed. I've had to run around to cash a check since they won't give me a refund after telling me they could because of western unions policy. I have USAA and can't simply deposit it. Nobody ever knows how to run the system. They didn't care to try and gave attitude when I asked in the first place. Don't get money orders here. You'll waste your time and spend more money to fix an issue because of laziness. Customer service is shot. read more

Tried curbside express. It should be called side yard sloth. After arriving I called the number, was on hold 7 minutes. Then he tells me they haven't printed my ticket that he'll get it and tell me substitutions. (Note to self. No substitute) Pretty sure the substitution was not brand for brand but flavor for not flavor. He says what parking spot. We will bring your order right out. THEN it's 30+ minutes later and still no groceries. Small order too. Express? Not even close. Next time I'll wear a mask and do it myself. read more

You would think someone at their corporate office would look at this stores reviews, see a 2.5, maybe look at Kroger's across the highway and realize something needs to be done. Rude doesn't begin to describe these people. I went in at 10 minutes till closing for something quick, turns out at 5 minutes till closing they turn off the freezer lights and you can't see inside. People were too busy standing at locked doors (like someone was going to come in), so I left and just said screw it. This store had me for one thing that their competition doesn't have. Just lost me as a customer today..2/16 at 1:15pm. Two women roaming around the produce department without masks and when I mentioned it to THREE WORKERS they all shrugged their shoulders and said there was nothing they could do. This included the worker whose job it is to screen customers coming into the store and to remind them to wear masks. I pointed to a sign on the Giant Eagle door that said masks are REQUIRED but she looked at me and said nothing. I stopped here randomly to go get a few things before going to a friends house and had a great experience. The store is super clean and they even have people cleaning grocery carts in the entrance! Everything is very organized! They even have a liquor store in the back. Employees were very helpful, I had some questions in where things were because I had never been in a giant eagle before. Uh Oh. I have to change my review after trying to shop here for a holiday meal in the Latin tradition. I have to say that the Latin american section has a lot of taco bell products and very few actual Latin food items. The store itself is very pleasant and if you are not looking for ethnic groceries, you are likely to find everything on your shopping list. Try to make some tamales and you are out of luck shopping here. I just took it down by one star for the lack of ethnic items that are useful for real cooking. Note, I wasn't going to do the cooking myself, but I was in charge of buying the supplies and on a snowy day I wanted to go somewhere close by. In their defense, Kroger (located across the way) did not have any of the items I needed for this project either aside from the pork and the flour... I guess it is about supply and demand. This is my go to grocery store and always take care of me plus the floor perks help with lowering your costs. During the coronavirus they had all their customers and employees in mind when they set new rules and regulations everything is super reasonable everybody working there with super patient with the customers that were freaking out they ran out of stock around the time that everybody was buying up food for COVID-19 shut downs they did their very best to restock as fast as possible only one or two items that was on My grocery list we're not able to be found however that only lasted for maybe a week or so and everything was restocked and ready for me when I came the next time read more

We quit shopping here for a while a couple years ago when they were remodeling and stock was hit or miss. Recently returned because Kroger near us is so horrible. Meat and produce generally fresh and decent price. Bakery is awesome. Store itself is very clean and well organized. Much better gas/grocery perks than Kroger. This is a great grocery store with a lot of options, especially for beer. I was impressed with the variety of selection but I couldn't find anyone to help me so I gave up. Their ethnic food sections were a little lacking, as someone who grew up an expatriate this is important to me and they weren't equipped for my needs. That isn't a bad thing for everyone but it is why I wouldn't plan to be back. I like to do all my grocery shopping in one place. Otherwise, this is your standard issue grocery store. I have just about had it with the customer service, or lack thereof, at this location! There is a very indifferent attitude by the cashiers to help load groceries into a customer's cart after ringing them up. The cashier I had today (Caitlin) rang up my groceries, I paid, and then she stood there staring into space while I loaded my own groceries into my cart! Mind you, there was NO ONE else in line and she literally had nothing else to do but help me. This is not the first time in the past several months this has happened, each time with a different cashier. I have been to other locations and received much better service. I greatly prefer Giant Eagle to Kroger for my grocery needs, and the New Albany Giant Eagle is a nice alternative to my regular in Gahanna. Familiar, yet a nice break from the norm. Built only a few years ago to accomodate New Albany's recent growth spurts, this Giant Eagle feels a little larger than most, and is definitely cleaner and more modern. I don't think the selection of food and products is quite up to the Gahanna GE, but it's still impressive and does occasionally have products other GEs lack. Especially with the bakery, deli, and sushi bars, if I can't find it in Gahanna, I take a quick trip up the road to New Albany. Candy aisle not doing it for you? Look around a bit. This place has one non-grocery perk that keeps me coming back: eye candy. That's right, from the customers to the cashiers, the New Albany Giant Eagle is a hot bed of hotties. Cosmic rift activity? A secret society? Or are grocery stores the new place for single young professionals to meet and mingle? This one might be! The prices are WAY too high. You have to spend SO much money to get anything worthwhile off of your gas purchases. If they let you do more than one fill up (say 2-3) with the money off per gallon, that is the only way it would be worth while. I buy my beer and my fish/butcher counter items here. I was told by associates at the New Albany location that they've had issues with keeping employees. Due to being understaffed the hot food counter was closed by 4:30 for quite some time when I'd stop by after work to pick up some baked chicken. Now that the hot food counter has new staff, it's still been hit or miss as to whether the baked chicken is sold out by 4:30. Today, I called ahead of time asking that an order of chicken be put aside for me. For a number of years I've been ordering an 8 piece baked chicken with 4 wings an no drumsticks. Today, when I called ahead of time and asked for the same thing, was told that they could no longer substitute 2 wings for the 2 drumsticks. This I know sounds trivial, but being a loyal customer and getting this same order for years and then suddenly being told that was no longer allowed came across as being very inflexible. For several years, I had been on a first name basis with associates working the hot food counter. Due to turnover, to the new staff I'm now just another customer who has conform to a policy I had never heard of and can no longer buy the same chicken order I've been getting for years. When I pull off the highway coming home from work, I can turn one way and go to Giant Eagle and get some chicken with my other grocery items or I can turn the other way and go to Kroger and get some chicken. Seems I now no longer have a reason to turn in the direction of Giant Eagle. Sad. read more

I used to do all my grocery shopping at this particular Giant Eagle. About a month ago, I bought noodles and when I opened them up, there were dead bugs inside. I understand mistakes happen. There's also a huge walk in beer cave and wine section. The meat and seafood departments are average size. They also have a toiletry section too. If you need New Albany apparel or OSU gear the have a little cove near the registers. Then there's also a pharmacy. Be sure to sign up for the free Perks card. You'll rack up fuel and food points fast. They also have a gift card section, so stock up on gift cards and earn even more fuelperks. read more

I like Giant Eagle as a whole, yes their prices are a bit higher than other grocery stores but in general you can find some really good deals and their deli and bakery are fantastic. This GE location though I will say I'll never go into other than if I need to grab 1 or 2 things out of conveinence since I do live literally acorss the street. The times I have tried to do my normal grocery shopping I can't find half of what I'm looking for and the layout of this store is just awkward. Really the only positives about this location is the wine selection. Go around the corner to Kroger for your groceries though. read more

I made a special trip to Giant Eagle in New Albany thinking they would have good peaches. It was a wasted trip. The peaches looked lovely and were nearly ripe so I bought a few. When I cut one open to eat it was grainy, mushy, no peach taste! ALL THE STORES SEEM TO CARE ABOUT IS HOW THINGS LOOK! Maybe I'll just take a picture of the fresh fruit rather than buy it. W hat is the problem? I know the peach growers raise good peaches so why can't the grocers put them in the stores! I don't buy apples anymore because they're hard as bowling balls! Very clean well stocked store. Large fresh seafood and special cut meats in display cases. Huge perk is on your Giant Eagle for gasoline. GE adds 20¢ for each 50$ spent in the store. It really adds up quick, I had many FREE fill ups. read more

Twice in two weeks I have been in the GetGo store and the same employee is not wearing a mask. The first time he actually passed me in the narrow isle without wearing a mask. I reported this to the store manager. Then again today the same employee was not wearing a mask even though the store sign states they will be. There are some really great employees at this Giant Eagle location, but the store has a ton of problems. I wouldn't recommend wasting your time here if you like fresh produce or good selection. I can't even count the amount of times we've had to return produce upon bringing it home and opening it because it was rotting. We've also been lied to by employees who have no clue what they're talking about. A great example, during a summer holiday the store was out of frozen hash browns. When we asked we were told they didn't have them because there was a shortage from the company and that no one had them. We drove 5 minutes down the street to Kroger to find their freezer fully stocked. It's bad enough that the people doing the ordering for this store are so terrible at their jobs, but it certainly doesn't help when employees flat out lie to customers. Every time we go to this store they carry less and less of the products that we like/use. We've complained on several occasions and nothing has ever changed. It's a shame to have such a convenient location with such disappointing products/services. read more

Waited in line for 15 minutes for service at the customer service desk. There was only one person in front of me. Got up there to the counter and I was only a counters space away from the employee and she looked at me, grabbed her stuff and walked off to go take a break, but very slowly. Did not say a thing like hello, or somebody else will help you...just simply walked away. She made a very obvious point to disrespect me. Emailed customer service and they replied back assuring to get to the bottom of it. I replied. They never did. I replied again in July, 5.5 months later and still no reply That was in January 2013. Still haven't heard anything back. Nobody in my family, not my wife and her family, nobody has ever returned to Giant Eagle and never will. You lost a couple of dozen customers on that one. read more

Prices are a lot higher than nearby grocery stores and their organic section is pathetic. They have grass fed steaks (which are amazing), but they're typically out of stock. I'm not sure what's up with their cashiers, but they're not very friendly and there usually aren't enough checkout lines open. You'd be better served by visiting the Kroger nearby. read more

What wrong with saying Thank you? Every time I come here its the same line from the cashiers, Have a good one! Even the older cashiers are too lazy to thank a person. That is so rude. Don't the managers in this place realize how terrible this sounds. I brought it up once to a new manager and he barely said a word.
