We happened to walk past this place on our way to the supermarket. We stopped in for a quick bite to eat for lunch and were dismayed to learn that the bar was open but the restaurant portion was closed. The owner was a charming man who invited us back for dinner, which we accepted, much to our enjoyment. The food was spectacular. The owner is a talented chef who obviously loves his work. The cafe offered a buffet for a very reasonable price that included sushi, which my daughter fell in love with. I had a steak dish that melted in my mouth. My husband had pasta in a spicy red sauce. It was so good we promised to come back the next day for dinner also. We did and were not disappointed. We stayed in Montecatini and found this place by luck. It was Friday evening & they made an exception. The atmosphere, service & food were exceptional. We got super spoiled at this place! After having drinks on a Monday night at 11 PM (2 hours after they officially closed), we asked about their wine tastings. The owner told us he could arrange something and we agreed to come back the next day at 9 PM (closing time). When we did, it turned out that they had arranged for the sommelier to stay later just for us. He had us taste 4 wines and set up food pairings for all of them. After we finished several hours later, we got served some liquor and the sommelier insisted on having another shot with us when we paid. All in all, we ended up having two great nights there. The foods they paired with the wine were great (though their veggie stew could have had more taste) and their contemporary take on tiramisu was surprisingly good as well. They would probably have been a 4.5, but the amazing level of attention we got here makes sure that Giada Cafè is a solid 5! If we ever make it back to Montecatini, we'll definitely return. read more

We had a wonderful experience at Giada Cafe. The warm seafood salad and salt crusted sea bass shared between my sister and I was the perfect light dinner. Seafood was incredibly fresh, well seasoned, perfectly cooked and such a great value. We were completely satisfied and too full for dessert. As others mentioned, carafes of water were one euro each and both white and red house wines were excellent for just a few euros per glass. The owner and his servers were friendly, kind and very accommodating. We will return soon to try their handmade pastas. read more

Visited upon recommendation of Gate1 travel guide, Carolina, and was not disappointed. Sipped on a smooth Chianti while I waited for a salted crusted sea bass which was moist and flavorful. We were also treated to some of the owner's personal olive oil made at their family vineyard. Delicioso. Would highly recommend and definitely would go back. Our tour leader recommended this place and we ended up eating there twice because it was so good. The father, Michele, is the chef and the son, Ricardo, does the serving. The Mom helps in the kitchen. The menu is quite varied and very reasonably priced. The very thinly sliced beef, arugula, and shaved pecorino cheese appetizer was delicious, and the warm calamari salad was AWESOME! Our friends had the salt encrusted whole sea bass, and it was moist, and tasty. We had bottled water (only 1 Euro), and a bottle of the house white wine, very good and only 10 Euros per bottle. The first night we had the clam linguine and it was good, but not as outstanding as the food the second time we ate there. This place is a bit of a walk down Roma Curso but well worth it!! My partner says she is willing to fly back to Italy just to have more of the calamari salad!! read more
