    Caprese Salad

The best part about this hotel bar/restaurant is the low regular prices and the even lower happy hour prices. During happy hour, which is approximately 3-5 (please ask for the exact times as I'm not sure of the start time), beers are $3.50 a bottle. Service is friendly and efficient. The food, although reasonably priced is merely acceptable. The perogies my wife ordered were bland. She gave me one she couldn't finish and I needed to add an excessive amount of salt to give it some taste. It purported to be a potato omelette, but it needed something else to give it some flavor. The fish tacos were better. They had some flavor and seasoning. We also had caprese salad, which was good, but the tomatoes were not ripe. You would do better buying some basil and ripe tomatoes at the grocery store and making this at home. But this dish was only $10 so at least you don't get overcharged. We later came here for breakfast the next day. Although the hotel advertises a breakfast buffet, there wasn't one, which is a fail. So I ordered the omelette that says in the menu I get a choice of Ham, bacon, sausage and then a bunch of veggies and cheese. In fact, the server told me, you get all that stuff. No choices, much like the old Wendy's "where's the beef?" ads. While the result was good, it was a lot of meat and ridiculously salty. The wife ordered the malted waffle, which she enjoyed.

Came here for dinner before a broadway show. The service staff were kind and the service was timely. The food was comforting on a cold winter night. The french onion soup definitely hit the spot.

I have gone to this restaurant and bar multiple times the last 3 years and was never impressed until Crowne Plaza took over. My friends and I enjoy the location as we want to meet at one of our hotel bars so we can visit between events. The other night I found myself alone and wanting a nice glass of wine and dinner. Even though I was not staying at the hotel I decided to try it out for dinner. This is located in the playhouse district and close to everything downtown and near CSU Campus. They have a decent happy hour menu and options. (They also have a large wine menu) I ordered a seasonal beer on tap and a cheese platter. The appetizer was super good and had a few jelly's and olives, grapes and granola to compliment it. The menu has the normal restaurant options but i asked my bartender/waiter what he recommended and liked best on the menu. He told me to order the shrimp and grits as it was his favorite. I am not a shrimp and grits kind of gal, but he highly recommended it. Wow! Was he right!! It was simply amazing. Shrimp, sausage and cheesy grits were really good. The people next to me ordered the lobster Mac and cheese and said it was "ok". I will definitely be making a trip back to try some other items as my appetizer and dinner were simply wonderful. It was a nice surprise at a hotel restaurant. Nice job Ghost Light!!

Beautiful decor that mixes a level of sophistication with a little drama as you see the bright lights. Plenty of seating and even a private room that can be rented out. The drinks are phenomenal and the staff is friendly! The menu offers a mix of unique cocktails (and can be made as mocktail a too) and small bites. Upon recommendation, I tried the F.W. Marg drink. So good! The most unique aspect is the watermelon ice cube. As it melts the drink flavor changes. Creative & fun way to enjoy a cocktail. We were able to snag a couple of seats as 2 people were leaving. The place obviously lived up to its name. It's a vault, I get it... But what's cool about it was exploring all the extra rooms and booths. Certainly fun to get lost in it. I was also impressed by how festive it was. They were already decked out in Christmas decor, and the bartenders were in ugly Christmas sweaters. The cocktails were notably pricier than neighboring cocktail bars in the $16-$25 range. Their most expensive one was $35. I wanted to get The Safety Deposit, but they didn't have chartreuse at the time. I settled for the Post's Pom, which was nicely refreshing but overly sweet. My friend got the Cleveland Trust. It was tasty but also too sweet, and the charred dried orange killed the taste. My olfactory and taste senses were so confused. Can't say that The Vault was my favorite bar solely based on the quality of the cocktails, but can't beat the vibes.

Would not recommend!!!…read more Came for a night out from outta town. They charged $10 at the door. We walked in we're the only ones there. They had swings at the bar (which was nice). The bouncer proceeded to tell us we couldn't sit there and that we had to move to the room which looked like a warehouse that they added on and was freezing cold. We decided to get a drink. But that was kind of difficult. They didn't have more than 10 bottles to choose from. They were advertising Avion throughout the club. The bartender said they were still recovering from All Star weekend. And that's why they didn't have much to serve. But a few moments later I saw them bring out a bottle of Avion and serve it to a VIP table. Also be ready to pay $30+ for one single drink and $5.00 for a bottle of water. The Bartenders were also talking negatively about my group of friends and I. 3 steps away from us behind the bar. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL ESTABLISHMENT!

Plus there was a $10 cover, just for us to be the only ones inside. It was also freezing inside. Insane! The bartender was clearly annoyed because we kept asking what type of liquor they had (you know, since there was only 12 bottles). When they didn't think we were paying attention, the bartender told who we presumed was the owner that we were annoyed and he said "well tell them to go away". Then they had a nice chuckle. We just paid $90 for 3 shots plus a cover charge and you want us to go away? Ok, bye! Will NEVER go back.

I was able to visit in a recent trip to the city and would recommend it to those going for a visit as well. Located in the House of Blues, you'll have to enter through the 4th strewn door and head straight to the back. Most "speakeasies" I have visited in the US are pretty obvious (like someone sitting in a chair, directing you to a set of stairs behind them to enter the "speakeasy"), but with the entrance to this one tucked away behind a place with live music and food, it had more of an authentic feel. The friend with me that night even questioned if we were in the right place as I strolled to the back of the restaurant and walked up to the girl seated at a podium. "Excuse me, but is this the way to the foundation room?" I asked her. She affirmed, and we were soon on our way up an elevator. When we got to the second floor, we were promptly greeted by a host, Julius, who showed us around. The decor is sumptuous, a blend of Moroccan, Indian, and Jacobean flair. After checking out a room with relics from an Indian temple and looking at the rooftop (with an Instagram-worthy floral wall), we decided to grab a cozy spot near the bar and ordered a drink. As we sipped on our Old Fashioneds, Julius came by to check on us, and we watched the place fill up with an array of people in a festive mood. It was a lovely way to end a night in Cleveland, and a place I highly recommend that you check out when you're in the area!
