Shaken Steak Pasta | IG @moniquedao
    Monique D.

I wanted to try this place despite it having only 3.5 star ratings, which actually kinda surprised me as the food was actually delicious! I had Special Egg Noodle Soup which has everything. I like that they were generous with the amount of toppings. The bowl is a little smaller than average, but it was the perfect size for me as I don't really eat that much. Overall I enjoyed it. My BF had Shaken Steak with Pasta. He liked it, although I thought the pasta could've been marinaded a bit more for more flavor. But other than that I thought it was pretty decent. The pasta took a bit longer to come out, and I guess one of the servers felt bad and told us it was on the house! Yay!! Our final check was pretty much just for my noodle - the pasta AND Vietnamese Coffee were comped! So we really appreciated the gesture and will definitely come back again.

    Mi Thap Cam

I got the mi thap cam and it was decent. The broth was fairly bland and did not live up to the hype I was hearing from my family who are native Californians. The establishment was extremely packed when I went so there is a clipboard for you to reserve your spot with your name and party size. It is decorated really nicely in the front. The service was great considering how busy it was with us getting seated & food coming out fairly quickly.

It was a friend's recommendation and I'm so glad it was one of those, I'm so glad you shared this with me! We really enjoyed it we got number 10 and 12. Both came out hot with a good portion size. One is a small and the other a large. I enjoyed it with egg noodles and clear noodles, glad we had the option of mixing it. There wasn't as much egg noodle but I didn't mind it too much since we like the clear noodles. Veggies it comes with are crown daisies and bean sprouts. Soup on the side was ok, nothing to write home about however, I've been thinking about the noodles. Loved their combo of garlic, dried shrimp and little crispy pork skin pieces. I also enjoyed dipping into what I'd recommend is some soy sauce and vinegar with chili oil and green pickled garlic chilis. Chef's kiss. Be careful they're spicy! Loved the kick. The service was great. We were checked on consistently and the staff was friendly for us first timers. Will be back soon would definitely recommend them!

Servers were great and they were attentive! The food was mediocre, the portion was okkk? Not too little not too big. I enjoyed the dish but I wish there was no noodles and I wish there were more flavors. The dish felt a bit bland and only has a mild flavor.

I'm not sure why this restaurant is always so crowded. I came here for lunch and the place was packed. I ordered the Hủ Tiếu Nước Thập Cẩm, and it was nothing special. The portion was disappointing, with very few toppings, mostly just a lot of broth and noodles! The cơm gà wasn't good either. Usually, at other places, cơm gà comes with fried rice that has a nice golden color, good aroma, and well balanced seasoning. But here, they served plain white rice , lacking flavor, I'm not enjoyable. The chicken was also dry. At $19.45, I felt very overpriced for what I got. The restaurant was clean, but extremely noisy because it was so crowded. Service was fast, though. Parking was also easy to find when I visited.

Stop by this place for lunch and got here at a good time it gets busy real quick. We ordered the shaken beef with pasta and also the combonation egg noodle soup. Both dishes were good! Only wish the wonton were boiled vs fried. The salted lemon drink was good. Would come by if I was in town.

    Pho Ga

Came here since they had a variety of dishes and I was craving pho ga while my parents were craving for mi. I love a great pho ga with the ginger fish sauce to dip the chicken with. I saw on the menu that their pho ga had a heart next to it signifying it was one of their top dishes. I decided to give it a try and it was pretty decent. The ginger fish sauce was super flavorful and had a bit of a kick from the fresh peppers. The pho itself was average, but a bit too fatty for my liking. Additionally, the plate of chicken they give to you is actually fresh chopped chicken, but I am more of a white meat fan and they just give you a majority of dark meat with very little actual meat on the pieces. Maybe next time I can ask for just white meat, if they have that as an option. My parents ended up trying the mi kho, and it was actually pretty flavorful. I think I would prefer that dish over the pho next visit, or maybe even try their shaken beef with noodles that several other tables were ordering. I would say this is just the typical Viet spot. Nothing too crazy to go out of your way for, but a reliable comfort food spot.

Food: Hủ Tiếu Thập Cẩm - broth is really good, soft noodles, yummy meat, loved the pork skin when it's crispy. There's a quail egg, squid, liver, and more. I loved adding veggies and jalapeños for spice to this dish. Hủ Tiếu Hoành Thánh - broth is so good! good amount of noodles and loved all the toppings. good wontons, good portion. Service: Standard service experience Ambiance: Warm cozy feel inside. Casual dining experience for some good Vietnamese food!

got the hu tieu dry w shrimp, pork, & quail eggs. it came w 3 shrimp, thinly sliced pork, pork rinds, crispy fried onions, dried shrimp, lettuce, green onion, & a fried wonton w pork & shrimp filling. on the side came bean sprouts, chrysanthemum greens, & a bowl of broth. i was happy w the portion size, the flavor, & the quality of the ingredients. i also appreciated that water already came in to-go cups. service was v fast & the place was clean, including the bathroom

We went here for lunch and it was packed. We had to wait a few minutes to be greeted and seated. The restaurant was clean and bustling. Our orders came out pretty quickly and portions were a bit disappointing if you order it dry style with a side of soup. I wish there were a bit more noodles for the Large portion that I ordered. Maybe if I ordered it as a noodle soup, it might have been better. Will have to return to try it again in that option. A lot of people were ordering the beef bones.

    Kathy L.

Pretty solid noodles. I got the dry noodles with soup on the side. Parking isn't to bad. Nice place for a family meal. Service was fast.

My first time coming here. It's very clean and the environment is super cute. Staff was helpful too. Chicken and rice hai nam- this is a little different chicken. You get half of a sizable chicken. I would say this dish can be easily shared among 2 people. Roti chicken - some of it was good some was a bit dry from over frying but the flavor was very good. Hu tieu- this noddle dish was just average for me. This would be a good place to bring coworkers for lunch.

#7: mì khô thập cẩm = $15.95 for a large

3.5 stars I came here for lunch with my mom on a Monday and boy was it cracking. My mom ordered the #7: mì khô thập cẩm ($15.95 for a large) which is their house specialty. This bowl comes with the works: heart, liver, shrimp, squid, meat, ground beef, quail egg, etc. She liked it, but it was a little heavy with the innards. I ordered the #9: mi hoành thánh, bò viên, thịt ~ egg noodles with wontons, beef balls, and pork ($13.95 for a small). I like eating mine dry so I asked for it khô. Soup comes on the side and in my case, it came with 4 pieces of wonton.the wonton soup flavor was coming in strong, so I enjoyed that. And up until this point, I didn't realize that my bowl was missing the bò viên. Oops. The noodle base to each bowl was fine - not quite memorable. The noodles had a nice chew, but other than that, there wasn't much to them. The presentation was a little sloppy and the small size was v small, so I suggest sizing up. Although it was better than expected, I don't think Ghien Mi Go will make it into my mi rotation.

Mai Phat still exceeded them! It has since become our go-to lunch spot, as well as a local favorite for my wife's family. They specialize in egg noodles - served either dry (with broth and main protein on the side) or wet like a conventional soup bowl. My personal go-to is the dry mì sủi cảo - egg noodles with sliced / ground pork, huge wonton dumplings, a shrimp cracker, and broth on the side. The wontons come in a super rich and delicious sauce that I actually got scolded for pouring over my noodles lol. The light and clear broth is very refreshing and well-seasoned. Excellent mix of perfectly balanced flavors from every component. Add chili crisp for extra oomph. My wife loves the mì gà quay - fried chicken leg & thigh with the signature egg noodles. This is honestly one of the most perfectly seasoned and cooked fried chicken I've ever had, and I've had a LOT of fried chicken. Service was prompt, friendly, and attentive Highly recommend Mai Phat for hearty, expertly crafted, and relatively guilt free Vietnamese comfort food

I noticed another gentleman by himself at a table for four people. Hmmmm. Anyhow, there were about five tables total inside or maybe six. It was very warm inside since there is no AC. This is a type of life where you eat and leave as quickly because it's a no-frills no ambience type of place. That's fine with me except it was pretty hot. They charge you a dollar for a little tiny paper cup of water. I ordered the number one since this is their specialty or what they're known for. My mom had the bun thit nuong cha gio. My noodle soup had a good amount of crab pieces and shrimp. It seemed like there was not a lot of noodles though. I thought the broth was a little bland. I guess I'm just not a big fan of this type of soup. If there is a next time, I'll try the bun rieu. My mother was not that crazy about her dish. She said she didn't really like the egg rolls that much. For the price, the wait and the taste of the food, I likely will not be returning when there are so many other places in the area. I try to support various mom and pop restaurants, but for the previous stated reasons, I don't think we'll be back.
