Keegan and his team are enthusiasts, professionals, and technologically talented. What's…read moreastonishing is how reasonable, fair, accessible, and friendly they are, as well. Example: my Mercedes extended warranty expired so I got a quote for out of pocket to do the "service A" or "service B" package. $350 or $800 -- they would decide once they started work. Dealership also said the car needed engine filter for $225 and spark plugs. Keegan's did service A package (plus seal ring and synthetic motor oil ) for $130 and filter for $17.50. Spark plugs are "fine -- do them next year." Altogether, Keegan's saved me at least several hundred dollars and kept me from the gamble of upcharges that are a structural part of dealership service centers. I do not blame the system: it is what it is. There is dramatic overhead for a business selling, financing, and servicing cars -- along with managing an enormous lot. It is expensive and the money must come from somewhere. But once a car's service is out of pocket and IF you still want the best level of attention for the car: Keegan's is an unbeatable shop. Highly recommend. Happy to answer any specific questions.

We found the car posted on Craigslist and it was way better in person than in the photos. Overall it was a great experience and we're glad we found Medfield Sunoco.

They will try to ruin your car…read more I went here for the first time for an oil change on June 23, 2023. Halfway through, the guy comes out with my supposed dirty air cabin filter and asked if I wanted a new one. I declined as we take care of that ourselves, and he went back rather upset. After I paid and started driving off, there was a new rattling noise that hadn't been there before. I immediately went to different mechanic who checked it out and said that something from the air filter must have fallen in when the other guy took it out to show me, but he couldn't reach it and I'd have to come back. I had him check everything else they did - like tire pressure and guess what? Three of four tires were overfilled. My husband was able to take out what was in the fan and causing the rattling noise. Drumroll please......a 1inch nut. Imagine that! I wonder how that got in there. But wait, there's more! I went back to the website because it had the "AAA Approved" logo on their contact us page, so I called AAA. Guess what! AAA does NOT have them on their approved list for mechanics, towing or any service. (This might change once they get their visit from the AAA field agent.) But so you know - you've been warned!

Reposting from my Google review since we all search for good help at different sites…read more.. HIGH LEVEL: Doug and his staff are not only highly skilled at automotive work, they have great integrity, work with excellent detail, give fair pricing and don't give up on a highly challenging problem or problems. They have incredible persistence on solving problems. My Story: When I initially went to see Doug, the owner of Dover Automotive, it was just to do some work on the wheels since the bearings were old (excuse my lack of mechanic background I may mix up my wording a bit). Doug replaced the bearings and even got the car inspected (it was overdue by several months since I just bought the Subaru), changed the oil and a few other nice details I didn't think about. We thought we were set to go! I was moving to Vermont in a few weeks and this was our only means of transportation. If you don't have a car in Vermont, you're in trouble. Uber, even cell phone coverage don't exist out here! A day or two later the car started to overheat! It was not related to the work Doug and his amazing team did. He was methodical and meticulous: he first ran through what is A. typical and B. cost-effective for both of us. The thing is, the car overheats EVEN when it idles! It wasn't related to the engine so it was a mystery. No oil leaking, the radiator didn't have a leak, but he checked in detail. It's very common for Subaru Outbacks in the early days (99 to something like 05) to have the headgaskets fail and rust and leak which is super bad and you need to replace. He replaced the headgaskets but oddly enough, the overheating persisted. We researched more and found out this particular car and year for some people (99) has had some issues where there is a bubble left behind the dashboard and you have to make this funky tool to eliminate the bubble if the bubble is causing it to overheat. Doug not only created this bypass tool (here's where my technical mechanic work lacks knowledge) but he angled the car several times and angles to allow the bubble to release--well it worked! He bled the car again to make sure and test drove the car about 4 or 5 times on every different day and the car stopped overheating! It was amazing! This was the strangest overheating problem ever. Now one month later, I am with my happy Subaru Outback in Vermont with a car that works so smooth and flawless thanks to Doug and his amazing staff. He tested the car on weekends, was working on it so much--he knew we had a scary deadline which I wish no one has to go through! He took extra good care of us and figured out even the most rare problem for my car and fixed the problem. Phew! :) Thank you Doug and staff! - Tara and RC
