As is sometimes usual in these places that did not happen. They let the air out of all four tire because they said they were overinflated, they were not. They didn't bother to read the label on the tire that tells you they are load range E and should be inflated to 80lbs. They then decided to change the cabin air filter which needed to be changed but not for $60 when they actually cost less than $20. They didn't bother to put it back together and allowed all of the trash that was on top of the filter to fall into the fan causing it to not function properly and make loud noises. John is an experienced and insightful mechanic and Catalano automotive is a great place to bring…read moreyour car for service. After purchasing a used 2025 BMW 540i, I noticed a persistent grinding noise from the brakes at low speeds. I took it to the dealership as it is under warranty. They confirmed the noise but told me that the pads were recently replaced and they can't help me. I called John and described the issue and John asked me to bring it the next day. Although he could not reproduce the noise during inspection, based on my description, he suspected the problem was due to second tier BMW brake pads and recommended replacing them with OEM pads and he gave me a very competitive price. I hesitated a bit given that the pads on it were only 2 months old but then decided to trust his judgment, and he was absolutely right. Once the OEM pads were installed, the brakes became completely silent. The difference was immediate and dramatically improved my driving experience. John was professional, honest, and clearly knowledgeable. I highly recommend Catalano Automotive to anyone looking for reliable, expert automotive service.

I'm extremely disappointed with my experience at this shop. I believe I was overcharged for the…read moreservice provided, and to make matters worse, they denied responsibility for damage to my $8,000 paint protection film (PPF). I brought my 2022 Cayenne S in for a parking brake adjustment. The service advisor quoted a diagnostic fee of approximately $250 and mentioned that the total cost would typically range between $300 and $500. However, I was shocked when I received a bill for around $650. The itemized receipt showed a $250 diagnostic fee and $400 for labor plus tax. In my 20 years of dealing with both independent shops and dealerships, I've never been charged separately for diagnosis and labor when I choose to proceed with the service--typically, the diagnostic fee is applied toward the final cost of labor. For context, Porsche Westwood charges $820 for rear pads and rotors, and $400 for labor--a much more extensive service for nearly the same price. To make matters worse, the morning after picking up my vehicle, I noticed a 1/4" gouge in the PPF on my door. The damage appraisal came to $1,000 including the ceramic coating. I explained to the manager that I didn't see the damage at pickup because it was raining and water droplets camouflaged it. However, he claimed the security footage showed no signs of damage during brake service and refused to accept responsibility. he dismissed the fact that something could have damage the vehicle when they washed it- and kept repeating a brush couldn't have cause that kind of damage. Bottom line: Don't bring your $140K vehicle here. You may end up paying more than you would at the dealer--and with no accountability if something goes wrong.
