The staff is extremely great and securing subscriptions and guaranteeing you walk away with the books you were excited for. Stores like this can sometimes feel intimidating or cold to the uninitiated, but the staff at both the Clovis and Fresno location do a tremendous job for regulars and first timers alike. My wife used to wait in the car when I would go by another shop in town, but the personality and friendliness of Legends has made her a frequent visitor as well! They will either help you find exactly what you are looking for - or provide a glowing recommendation to help you out instead. Not to mention they always seem to have some sort of deal or sale in place! My week feels different if I don't get a chance to stop by. Make mine Legends.

I'll tell you that the two gentleman I spoke to on my two visits were incredibly kind and were able to answer my questions. I collect TMNT comics first so it's nice to actually see those comics in the store. I am getting back into XMen which is good so far and Absolute Batman is wild. I'm in my 40s and have been collecting comics since I was a kid. This is a modern comic shop done right. So I'll stop in twice a month.

What a difference new owners make!…read more It's been several years since I last visited Wonderland in my city and to be honest, I had given up hope on the shop. I happened to speak to someone today who mentioned that the shop was under new management and was undergoing remodeling and I had to go look for myself. My last experience at Wonderland reminded me of a miner exploring the depths of a cave looking for gold that turned out to be fools gold. I remember coming out dirty, after having lifted long boxes in cramped spaces. This time, I walked into an open spaced, neatly arranged area filled with rows of long boxes of back issues that many stores simply do not posses any more. I do a lot of traveling around the country and the first I do is visit the local comic shop. It is getting increasingly rare to find back issues going back to the 70's, 80's and 90s. The back issue selection is extensive with nice organization for modern issues, with some less sorted boxes allowing for a treasure hunt feel. They also offer a good selection of collected edition trades, hardcovers, and even omnibus editions. Their prices are fair and their sales are many throughout the year. My favorite section is the trade in section where they have half off books trades and hardcovers or recently bought collections, I've found many hard to find books for a great price. Collectors choice is not the most expansive comic shop I've been to, but what they provide is a welcoming atmosphere with a plethora of options for anyone looking to experience comics as a new comer or veteran.

Hostile Environment: The atmosphere is dismissive at best. More concerningly, an older staff member was openly using profanity toward my husband who had our child with him. It is clearly not a space that values a respectful or inclusive environment for the next generation of readers. The "Buying" Run-Around: Don't be fooled by their claims that they buy collections. I was given a constant run-around regarding whether the "boss" was in or not. If a shop isn't interested in buying, they should just say so rather than wasting customers' time with vague excuses and poor communication. Normally I am very mind your business but there was a Wednesday I had gone in to look at Pokemon and one of the players was using the N word repeatedly. I mentioned it to the owner and he said he would take care of it but I saw that same individual back again just the other day when I visited. I cannot support a business that allows racism to fly like that and let alone keeps entertaining racism for the sake of profit. i heard one of the other players say the racist's name was Rawl/Raul? Hopefully the store owner wises up and realizes that allowing that individual will eventually harm his brand.
