The very best place to go looking for comics when you are in the mood for hunting!!! Been away too long. Gotta go back!!!

The GOAT of comic book shops in Fresno. Way different now than in the 80s and 90s...all good. Parking can be a challenge, might have to walk a bit, that's nothing on Wonderland Comics though, that's just the Tower District in general. Definitely worth going to. read more

Wonderland Comics has an excellent selection of vintage comics and toys. Timmy the owner is a straight up no bs guy. The shop is very well organized and clean. I used to buy new comics from Legends but seeing how the comics are woke along with the terrible artwork I only buy vintage comics which is why I quit going to Legends along with too many hipster, loud mouth anime hooker looking customers. If you want an old school comic book and toy shop visit Wonderland. read more

Just took my son to buy his first comic book, the staff member was very helpful and friendly in helping him find a comic book for him. They have an extensive selection of comics, figurines and other memorabilia to browse thru. I would highly recommend anyone to pay them a visit. My son learned a valuable lesson of paying it forward today, was a great first experience for him. read more

I was in Fresno this weekend at a family gathering and had some time to kill. Figured I would take some time to look at old comics over a house full of old people for a spell and wandered in here. A bit hard to find at first because of all the one-way streets, but there was plenty of parking. Upon walking in I was greeted by two extremely kind gentlemen. They told me the items outside were price negotiable as were most of the items in store. There is an EXTREMELY large selection of old books in this joint. Hundreds of boxes to look through. Not every book is bagged and boarded but all in all they are in pretty stable condition, often in packs or some kind of binds, but all were straight up and ready to sift through. Most of the "good stuff" is up front and behind the counter which makes for great eye candy. I did not purchase anything this time around but that was more on me than anything else. Looking back I should have stayed longer because I truly had nothing else to do. The gentleman behind the counter was super knowledgeable and passionate about comics, and a just an overall friendly guy. Again, I wish I would have stayed longer but next time passing through I certainly will. A little kindness goes a long way, thanks guys. read more

Wonderland Comics truly lives up to its name as the best comic book store I've ever been to in my life. What I expected to be a quick stop in a small shop (that hardly looked open from the outside even) turned into a dream come true. That may sound ridiculous, but allow me to explain: As a fan of independent comics I'm used to having to ask the owners if they have any indie comics upon which I usually receive looks of confusion or eye-rolls before being pointed to the discount bins lying in the darkest, dustiest corner of the store. There I typically have to crawl under a table and dig through long boxes in hopes of finding the occasional indie comic wedged between dozens of unsalable copies of Marvel and DC series of the last couple of years that no one ever wanted in the first place. If I'm lucky I'll find a few things I was looking for after spending the better part of a day excavating and probably doing irreparable harm to my spine in the process. Not so at Wonderland! Their selection is fantastically varied with practically every publication from the big two all the way down to no-name studios that only published a single issue before vanishing into the ether. Better yet, everything is impeccably organized and clearly labeled so looking for anything is a total breeze. In my short visit I filled so many holes in my collection and found numerous obscure series I had been searching for years for. I also paid totally fair prices for each of them; absolutely less than I would have online after shipping charges. (And I didn't have to deal with receiving comics in worse condition than described thanks to either dishonest sellers or disgruntled postal workers with anger management issues.) The owner is a cool dude to boot who is welcoming and helpful to both newbies as well as regulars too. I'm so jealous of comic fans in Fresno, you guys have the comic shop I've always dreamed about. Ah well, now I just have to find excuses to visit Fresno more often! read more

What a difference new owners make! It's been several years since I last visited Wonderland in my city and to be honest, I had given up hope on the shop. I happened to speak to someone today who mentioned that the shop was under new management and was undergoing remodeling and I had to go look for myself. My last experience at Wonderland reminded me of a miner exploring the depths of a cave looking for gold that turned out to be fools gold. I remember coming out dirty, after having lifted long boxes in cramped spaces. This time, I walked into an open spaced, neatly arranged area filled with rows of long boxes of back issues that many stores simply do not posses any more. I do a lot of traveling around the country and the first I do is visit the local comic shop. It is getting increasingly rare to find back issues going back to the 70's, 80's and 90s. The Perfect Environment for True Comic Book Enthusiasts. Wonderland comics takes me back to a time before everyone thought they were comic book experts. And that's saying alot; there is always something to learn or read about your favorite comic book characters here. The selection is the biggest selection of back issues in Fresno county, hands down!! Last but not least, the main man Timmy is always willing to work out deals to meet your needs. I've tried heroes comics, legends..etc... and none compare with wonderland. This is not a place to get new(worthless) comics! Only classic material available here, which is awesome! Definitely worth a revisit, especially if you havent been there in a few years; its alot nicer now! read more

Was visiting town and was looking for my comic fix. Friendly and lots of stuff. Also have action figures. Awesome shop and great people!

I have been nothing but honest about my experience with this store. I'm now being called a troll by the owners. And accused of having my friends give negative reviews(I can assure you that I did not. I did tell a few friends of my negative experience here just as I said I would. What they chose to do beyond that point is not my responsibility). But for the record I did NOT ask them to do that and I even asked them to actually go to the store before leaving any kind of review. I have been called a Liar and a now a Troll by the owners and it's incredibly frustrating. Especially since NOT ONCE have I been reached out to for an apology. If I had been reached out to initially with a simple "hey, we're sorry about your negative experience and hope you give us another chance" then I'd have been a WHOLE lot less frustrated. And probably wouldn't have shared my story with my friends and family. But that was not the case. When I WAS reached out to (11 months later) I was shamed for telling the truth. In my opinion, a petty response to an upset customer is poor business. This will be my last review. As a disgruntled customer turned unsettled I hope this store can grow from the experience read more

Had an awesome time at wonderland comics. I had never been to a comic store and the employees were kind enough to give me some history regarding various comics books and characters. They treated my children very kindly and gave them a tour of the shop. Brandy, who I believe was the owner provided a very positive experience and gave my boys an awesome deal. I took my teenage son in this past Saturday to shop for older comics. The gentleman working there was very polite, helpful, and knowledgeable about the comics my son was looking for. I remember coming to this shop in the late 80's and it used to look like a firetrap. The store is reasonably organized and everything was easy to findable best off all it doesn't smell like unwashed clothes unlike some other game stores we have walked into. They also had some action figures and other pop culture collectables. They don't carry new stuff but if are into old comics then this is the place for you. read more

Wonderland is pretty much legendary among Fresno's comic book fans. You can always count on friendly conversation with Wayne and the staff and the selection of comics, RPGs, action figures, and other cool stuff is second-to-none. But it's not clean. It's very, very not clean. Like, "bedroll in the back of the store" kind of not clean. "Stain on the wall from where Wayne rests his head" not clean. "I found a sticky film on my fingers after flipping through a couple of longboxes" not clean. So... as long as you're okay with NOT CLEAN, you're going to love Wonderland. read more

This place can be compared to your overstuffed closet u tried to shut when your Mom told you to clean up your room for company. YEAH it is that crowded. I think this place is awesome though,...sometimes you have to literally dig for what you want but man you can find some limited edition novelty items and comics here. A huge selection of back issue comics. However, the guy working there the past few times I had been buy kind of lurks around you as you browse around. They base their prices off of the current value guide pricing, even though most of the comics are not kept in good condition. If you try to bargain with them they get pissed off. read more
