To be honest, I'm shocked by the negative reviews. I've eaten here 10+ times in the past month as my company is opening a new location next door. Excellent, friendly service EVERY time and I haven't found one thing on the menu that isn't great. It's ALL good. One thing to keep in mind ... it is a bar and grill. Gettemeier's is part pub, part restaurant. While the patio feels like any patio you'd see at a local Sports bar, the dining area doesn't necessarily feel like a bar. There IS a bar, but there is also a wide expansive room with booths and tables. The space is a bit sterile and generic. On the evening we visited, there was a family gathering nearby that included children. Again. It's hard to say if this is a sports pub or a family place. We sat down and ordered. Trashed wings for me and a wrap with tater tots for my dining companion. I expected the wings to be trashed. Which by my standards is fried, sauced and fried again. A sheer delight!!! These wings were not crispy enough to have been fried twice. The house hot sauce was a cross between barbecue sauce and hot sauce. Not that the wings were bad... they just were not at all what I was expecting or wanted. Frankly, I'd never order them again. My dining companions meal was fairly non-descript. The wrap was good. The tater tots were not loaded enough for loaded tots and lacked the crispy finish you'd expect. The service was really good. Our server was super attentive. While it was not a bad meal or experience, I'd say it was lacking in anything that would set this establishment apart and make it a place I'd visit again. read more

Went there today to catch up with a friend. The service was ok, should have been they were not busy. The food was cold so we sent it back it came back warm. Chicken nachos was very sparse on the chicken, chips and cheese were good. Biggest gripe was the loud inappropriate music. It was obvious it was for the employees not the patrons. Since this place was recommended to me I was disappointed. The menu was lacking and it was just not enjoyable with the intermittent blasts of club music on a Sunday afternoon. read more

This is a very average bar. Nothing stands out. I've been three times and each time within minutes of leaving I've forgotten what I had. The service is OK. The last time we went, there was no hostess and a bar tender yelled at a server to get us a table. Our server got us our drinks in a reasonable amount of time, and the food order was correct. We could have gone for another round of drinks, but she had disappeared. When she finally came back to check on us, we just asked for our check. It's not a horrible place, just not very memorable. No atmosphere to speak of. Unless you're at the bar, the TVs aren't very conducive to watching the game. Patio is OK, too. read more

Came here for St. Patrick's Day- I was impressed by the fact that they had their own shuttle for the parade. The service was slightly above average comparative to sports bars or pubs in the area. (definitely better than a show mes or hotshots). I only got eggs for breakfast as I wasn't that hungry- my mom got their corned beef breakfast and she loved it. Overall a good experience. Waited for about 10 minutes before I saw a waitress clear a table in the bar area and asked if I could sit there. No one greeted me even though there is a sign saying, "Wait to be seated." I wasn't a fan of the food and the people I sat next to in the bar area were pretty drunk and obnoxious (before 8pm btw) and approached me directly. I tried the trashed wings, but they didn't roll them in sauce again after the second time they fried them. So, they were basically just crispy naked wings at that point with zero flavor. The waitress said she'd talk to the manager to see if he would do anything, but just came back with a bill without mentioning what he'd said and I ended up paying for them. She also cashed me out without even asking if I was ready to leave (I was there to see the band). However, she was very nice and attentive. The place was packed when I got there at 7pm, so it's surprising that the food didn't meet my expectations- but not everyone has the same tastes. I will say that their wings and the grilled chicken wrap with chipotle ranch on it came out quickly considering the size of the crowd, so they've at least got that going for them. read more

Have visited twice for trivia, and will not be returning. The place is PACKED during the event, but clears out immediately after. Service suffers during trivia, as it took a long time to get drinks, food, anything both times I've been. The second time I visited, my family and I struggled to remember what we even had the first time, as it was so forgettable. We ending up ordering some wings, which are a no go: the sauce has a very odd taste, and the wings aren't crispy, they're mushy. The other appetizers we tried were just standard. Just traveling through and saw this place while filling the car. We decided to sit at the bar since the place was packed with folks participating in a major trivia contest. The service was fantastic! The bartenders were super friendly, fast service and help picking our items. We had the fried green beans and ribeye steak sandwich both hit the spot and even though we shared, it filled us up. Shocked by how bad this meal was. Went on a Thursday night about 7 and the place wasn't even half full. First off, it feels like walking into someones basement. Took over 40 minutes to get our food. The food itself was equivalent to something you get at a bus station. Sandwiches were made with Shop N Save meat and wonder bread. (which is fine - but I can do that at home). The sliders consisted of a hamburger cut into 4 pieces and put on a Hawaiian roll. In conclusion: The place is ugly, the service is terrible and the food is worse. However, our waitress was very sweet and efficient - I am sure she will find another job quickly after this place closes in a month or two. read more

Went tonight for our first time. Had the trashed wings and supreme pizza. The wings were good. 12 wings served with two tiny ranch dressings was kind of skimpy... I ordered another ranch and was charged 1.25 for that... a little over priced for an extra side. The wings were good and the pizza was good. Service was good as well. We had a party at the restaurant, which was booked almost 2 months ago. We didn't get the room they said we were getting, and the service was awful. There was 1 waiter for us (which was a larger party) but still had tables outside of the party. It took almost 2 hours for someone to get an appetizer & meal. & when we asked about it they said the food was given to a different table. The bar ran out of pineapple juice, and again only had 1 person on a Saturday night. I will not go back, seems like they should be on bar rescue. read more

Stuffed mushrooms were amazing. The smoked wings we're better than Buffalo Wild Wings. The Florissant Philly cheesesteak was just amazing! The staff was extremely helpful.
