They were pretty booked out, however when I explained the gravity of the problem (people in a home office below the tub area), Franchesca worked her magic and got me an appointment in 2 days. Damien showed up promptly at the 9 Am start time. We walked around the property while I explained my concern, and noted several other possible issues. Damien was extremely through, asking numerious questions and providing input and advice along the way. He took the time to explain causes for the different issues and was personable, professional and extremely helpful. Luckly for me, my problems traced back to normal settling, a recent solar panel and roofing job and normal aging. It's no wonder why Alpha has so many 5 star reviews- They absolutitly deserve every one of those. I only wish other businesses were as well run, and with such amazing people like Damien and Franchesca.

We had a good conversation and came to consensus on the scope of work; and I feel I received a fair proposal. David Gonzalez (supervisor) was good at communicating once the job started. He provided an accurate timeline for Alpha's part of the rehab project (so that I could schedule subsequent contractors). When demolition revealed new things, I was informed. And he provided a good debrief when work was completed. Matteo and Dennis spent three days on the project. Whenever I visited the worksite, they were busy. I don't think people realize what is involved when re-leveling a house. These two demonstrated a lot of skilled work. I (and my neighbors) also appreciate the company's "clean as you go" process. Regardless of the work happening, the worksite was always neat. Going forward, I feel I have a good (new) baseline understanding of what is happening within my house.

We confirmed an appointment from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM in the Temescal area of Corona. Despite his office being located in Corona, he stated he was unable to find the property, even after I provided clear directions. My elderly parents were present at the property to assist, and I had arranged to meet him during my lunch break from work. Upon arrival, I found no issues accessing the property there were no "large rocks" blocking the entrance as he claimed. Unfortunately, he had already left before the scheduled time without proper communication. Instead, he states that we send photos of the structure. This experience was a significant waste of time and demonstrated a lack of professionalism, reliability, and respect for our schedule. I would not recommend this service based on our experience.

The first was figuring out how to realign a very complicated roofline so that rainwater would channel properly. The house has been built and added onto in stages over roughly 100 years, so every addition and alteration made the roofline more complicated and less cohesive. I had literally spent hours sitting on the roof trying to figure out a workable solution. Eugene looked at the situation, thought it through for about 10 minutes, and sketched out an option that simply would never have occurred to me. It was practical, elegant, and made immediate sense. The consultation was some of the best $400 I've spent. The second issue was understanding how well the house is braced for earthquakes and how the existing foundation works structurally. Again, Eugene combined a strong engineering mind with real-world practical experience and explained everything in a way that I could actually understand. I almost never take the time to write reviews, but I was impressed enough that here I am writing one. Last year, I obtained an inspection of the deck and balcony at my family's 10 unit apartment complex in order to comply with Senate Bill 721. After learning that our cantilevered balcony needed structural work, I began calling engineering firms. I chose Reverence Engineering because I wanted to work with a smaller firm and I was impressed with my initial call with principal engineer Brett Sauers. During that conversation, he explained in simple terms how he would approach creating plans and seeking permits for a major retrofit of our balcony walkway. From there, I was kept well informed by email at every step of the way. Because I live out of state and was not able to be present for any site visits, Brett prepared an explanatory video for me so that I could see exactly what he was seeing and understand how we could solve the structural challenges. The draft plans were ready more quickly than I expected and Brett personally addressed all my questions with patience and precision. The City took longer than I had hoped to do its plan review, but Brett's staff sent me weekly updates. In addition, they walked me through all the forms that I needed to sign so it ended up being a pain-free process from start to finish. I really couldn't be happier with the attentiveness of Brett and his team, as well as the outcome. They deserve accolades for exceptional structural engineering work, at a very reasonable cost.
