Our first pit stop once we landed on Bruny Island was to get oysters. Get Shucked is the spot; it's farmed oysters but they're absolutely delicious.
We dropped in on a Friday afternoon (around 1:45pm). The place was pretty busy. Seems like everyone stops in here for at least a dozen oysters. Lots of seating outside and they even have a drive thru option if you want to take oysters to go! Awesome idea.
The menu is short; natural oysters, cooked oysters and sides (chips, sourdough bread and a lunch plate). Drinks are beer, cider, wine, sparkling, spirits and a few non-alcoholic drinks.
- 2x Naked oysters ($20.00 AUD/dozen) - doesn't get any better than this. If you're a purist, this is the way to go. We started with a dozen; incredibly fresh, plump and succulent. So good we had to get a second dozen and lucky us, we got them shucked right on the spot.
It's a must stop when you're on the island. I'm already dreaming of another dozen. read more
