This is a great place to train. I came here about a year ago to learn a new art that was practical and would teach me a lot in a little bit of time. I've done a lot of different arts but I'm at a point in life where I don't have much time and heard that Krav was easier to master. I found that the instructors were very knowledgeable not only in KM but also kickboxing and BJJ. I've walked away from every class with more knowledge and as a better fighter. And I've come away from this experience with Krav Maga becoming one of my favorite arts. That's saying a lot since I've trained in Kung Fu, Jeet Kung Do, Filipino Martial Arts, Madjapahit Silat, Muy Thai, Boxing and BJJ, etc. I like how Krav Maga incorporates a little bit of everything in a very simple way (Bruce Lee would approve). The classes are a little on the smaller side, but I've found it allows for more individualized coaching. It's definitely worth training here. Another plus is that the place has a very positive vibe. Get Safe is a non-profit who helps in many ways, such as running anti bullying programs in schools. The name may not sound so cool, but they make up for it by making a positive difference. That positive attitude in helping others transfers over into the culture of the gym. The instructors are skilled but humble, and genuinely want to see you improve. Krav Maga is a necessary training course for all people. I took a free class 20 years ago in LA. I was hooked on the power it gives you to have the confidence to walk down a dark St. Or enter an elevator, alone. As a woman, the more you know the better you are equipped to travel and have confidence in your everyday life. I continued on for a few years and have a yellow and orange belts. This place is incredible for people who are intimidated by working out in a group setting or taking a self defense class. The coaches and members are incredibly respectful of your limits and your skill level. I first came to Get Safe for a 2 hour women's self defense class. It was a great workout and a lot of fun, so I signed up for a trial month for $59. I typically hate working out, but when I'm learning to defend myself and making friends it really is easier. I find myself dreading the end of a training session because I just have so much fun. I am pretty unfit after having my daughter, so I was very worried about my level of endurance during training. Training is set up so that you can meet your individual skill and fitness goals at a pace that works for you. This is a great place to train no matter what your fitness goals are. If you would like to check it out, you can drop in on Saturdays from 10-11am for Strike Lab for $10, or you can drop in on the brand new women's only class Fridays from 1-2pm, also $10. I came here because of a Groupon deal for Krav Maga/kickboxing and I'm so glad I did. I've been waiting for my Groupon to end to have the full experience before writing this review and I am not disappointed. I've always wanted to learn practical defensive/offensive moves where I could transfer it to real life. I've always wanted to learn how to fight but was always nervous about learning because of what I think people might think. I've always heard about the gym family or #fitfam, but I never thought I would find one because I don't go to the gym or work out consecutively until I started training at Get Safe. The instructors (Jake and Kyle) are extremely nice and informative. They will help you with your form and slowly break down each task for you. There are usually about 8-10 people in a class, but it could get down to just you! (free personal training!). It's a very intimate learning environment. It's not about who finishes first or who hits the strongest but about learning the skills the correct way so you could implement it in times of need. In the beginning, I would be so nervous coming in alone because I didn't know much about martial arts. I just did a few boxing and cardio kickboxing classes. It all went away when people randomly talked and joked around with me. It felt like a community and felt no judgment at all. Not only are the instructors helpful, but the students would encourage you and help you fix your form. I always felt supported here. I decided to stay with the training after my Groupon deal ended. I would give Get Safe Krav Maga 5+ stars. My husband and I wanted to enroll our two kids in a self defense class just for the summer. After our kids took the classes here for a month, we decided to enroll our kids for the year. Our family's experience exceeded our expectations! Jake, the instructor, is superb with the kids and cares about the success of each student. His knowledge of Krav Maga is evident when he explains self defense moves in a way that helps the kids understand why it's effective. Jake has the great balance of being an encourager while keeping the class challenged, disciplined, and focused. I appreciate his pep talks about character and the spirit of "not giving up." He's always prepared, positive, respectful, helpful, and challenging. The pacing of the class is terrific, and the kids are given a lot of time to practice their moves and receive specific feedback. Dave, the Director of Training, and Miguel, the administrative assistant, are amazingly positive, professional, and friendly. All the staff make you feel welcome and comfortable. I also appreciate how the dojo is clean, air conditioned, and provides coffee & wifi! My kids are excited about what they are learning and feel more confident in defending themselves. My kids Love coming to their lessons! They say it's fun, and it's not uncommon for me to hear them say "It's over already?" at the end of their class. read more

Get Safe Krav Maga is an amazing place to train and there's a lot of amazing people there. The classes are fun and are full of life! It's my first year of training with this place and I love it. I'm super shy and self-conscious when I go to a new environment, so I was super nervous for my first class. Everyone could tell I was shy and timid; I was grateful when people reached out to me, welcomed me, and made me feel safe and included. The instructor that I have, Jake, is so nice and so for the kids and adults who train there. Learning moves that can help you get out of danger is so great and so helpful for me. Excellence, Supportive Community, Dynamic, Growth, Transformative and Respect are the words I would use to describe this place. I found this place on Yelp and had my teenage daughter start training with them. She loves it. I took part in their Women's Self Defense training a few Saturdays ago for 2 hours. The training kicked butt! Jake, Kyle and the other instructors were clear in their directions, took difficult questions and possible scenarios with tact, wisdom and respect. It was fun! I now have my brains and some defense moves to do in the event I should need it. I think they'll be doing 4 a year now so ladies, if you have a chance to go, DO! Both of my kids are in Kids Krav Maga, and they always look forward to coming to class-- that's 4 days/week! They absolutely love their instructor Jake (Jacob) who is very knowledgeable, inspiring, patient, and kind. And the kids are so thrilled whenever instructor Dave comes to discuss issues relating to bullying and how to safely deal with them. This is definitely the place for kids to learn about safety and self defense in the most practical ways! I recommend all women to learn self defense. What better place to learn it than at Get Safe! Jake & Kyle, the instructors, are very knowledgeable, professional, patient, and kind. They take the time to help you with your form and help you to improve. It's not only fun but it's a great workout as well. The classes are usually small which helps because it allows them to help you with your form and footing, the little details. I have seen a change in my confidence when I'm walking from the parking lot to work or even to the store. I am more aware of my surroundings which they teach you not only in the women's self defense class but in every class. My son also takes the kids Krav class and has improved so much.
