I took my car recently and the mechanic misplaced the gas cap. You take your car to the auto service shop to get it fixed, not bring it home with new problems. When I went to the shop to check if the gas cap was there, they flat out refused to look for it and instead accused me of losing it. Like I would try to swindle a business for a $30 gas cap. That's less than what I pay for a full tank of gas. There are plenty of good auto service shops in the area that do fantastic work for reasonable prices and have excellent customer service. On vehicle pickup I asked the mechanic present what brand of plugs and coolant they used. He would not or could not tell me. He responded that they used whatever is OEM from their parts supplier. There can be lots of variability in parts that can be used, and claiming OEM. Simple question but vague, dismissive answer after paying over $1000 for the work. After getting my keys, I opened the hood to check the engine area (something I always do after having engine work done). Found a pair of pliers left in the engine compartment. Same mechanic came out seeing me with the hood open and asked if there was a problem, to which I said yes and handed him the pliers noting where I found them. Price as high as the dealer. I will likely pick dealer service in the future, all things considered.

I tried filling each tire with air and only 1 tire would not hold the maximum pressure. After making an appointment with Alex, I dropped the car off so that he could take a look at it. What he discovered was that 2 of the tire sensors needed replacing. He couldn't find any place where the tire was damaged in any way. But, to be sure, he checked it a couple of times and what he found was correct. He gave me the estimate and I gave him the go ahead to do the work. He mentioned that he would contact me when the car was ready. Sure enough, he called to tell me that the car was ready and gave me the final cost for the repair. I went later that afternoon to pick up the car and returned it to my stepmother. She was elated! I was relieved! I enjoyed driving the car back to her as it was a smooth and quite comfortable ride.
