I brought three of my vehicles to his shop, and in two cases I spent a significant amount of money without getting proper results. On my Honda Pilot, the engine mounts were replaced, about a year later I was told it was the same issue again and that there was no warranty. I don't drive the vehicle excessively, so this raised a serious concern for me. The bigger issue was with my Ford Transit. I took it in three separate times for the same problems, a coolant leak, AC not working, and noticeable vibrations. Across those visits, I paid over $3,000, yet none of the issues were resolved. In the end, I had to take it to the dealership, where they properly diagnosed the problem, costing me an additional $2,500. It's disappointing to lose trust in a service I relied on for so many years. I hope they improve their quality and accountability moving forward.

They took my car in the next day and were very, very thorough in their inspection and even included pictures of each issue in my Jeep Patriot. I like that they do most of the transactions via text including accepting or declining the repairs recommended. They didn't pressure me on having to get any if the repairs done but was honest about which ones needed to be done right away and which ones could be held off on. Their cost was reasonable and was able to get the repairs done ahead of schedule. I'll be coming back to Bennett Automotive again for my other cars for sure!

After being told my transmission was dripping and a cost of $2100, I was completely surprised as my vehicle only has 65,000 miles. Jeff concluded it wasn't dripping. The first time I bought my vehicle in he saved my butt. Whoever checked my transmission fluid at my last oil change didn't put the plug back in. My transmission was about to be destroyed. I recently had the pleasure of working with Mirek, the owner of German Tech Auto, and I must say that my experience was truly exceptional. Mirek's attention to detail, professionalism, and expertise in working with German cars, specifically Volkswagen vehicles, left me thoroughly impressed. From the moment I brought my car in, Mirek took the time to explain the repair process and provided a detailed estimate of the work that needed to be done. Throughout the repair process, he kept me informed every step of the way, and even went above and beyond by suggesting some preventative maintenance to help prolong the life of my vehicle. My Mercedes was having problems with overheating after driving from The Bay Area to Thousand Oaks in 111° heat on the Sunday before Labor Day. The Mercedes Dealer service department was closed of course, and the salesman there knew less about cars than I do and offered no referrals. PEP Boys recommended German Tech. I took a chance and called the number. To my surprise Mirek, the owner, answered the phone. Apparently his business line transferred to his cell phone that day. I explained my problem and that I had to drive back to SF on Labor Day. He said that the German Tech garage was closed until Tuesday, but after hearing my plight he offered to meet me at the garage right then and there. Mirek checked the cooling system and determined the problem. He showed me the radiator grill that was clogged with bugs and dirt, and then he stripped to the waist in the 100°+ heat and proceeded to steam clean the radiator and the engine. When he finished, he said there was no charge and wished me a good trip home! I drive to Thousand Oaks about six times per year, and I know where I'm taking my car for servicing from now on. German Tech Auto Repair is "The Only Place" I would ever take my cars to be serviced. I have known Mirek, his crew and their sincerity with people and their vehicles for well over 15 years. He is fair and very honest and goes above and beyond to make sure your vehicle is running as efficiently as possible! The workmanship of his shop is impeccable without the price gouging that you tend to find at the dealerships out there!!! Along with the additional costs of things added that they happen to find in addition to what you brought your vehicle originally in for!!! I have referred and will continue to refer many of my friends and clients to Mirek and German Tech Auto Repair. I found them to be honest, knowledgeable and incredibly precise in their work. Their customer service was very prompt, pleasant and professional (Julie in the office is delightful!). I am writing on behalf of my boss. He just moved to Thousand Oaks and needed a service done on his wife's Mercedes. He scouted the dealership and another shop just up the street. He was quite disappointed with the other places mentioned for numerous reasons. However, he was fortunate to have recently found Mirek who proved to be very professional and knowledgeable in his craft, as well as a very kind and generous human being. Mr. Wallace was very impressed by his level of expertise and customer service. Mirek not only fixed the original problem, but he took care of a few additional problems he found at no additional cost. Never wrote a review in any form but i felt because of the fantastic service i got from Sydney,Chris and mostly Mirek, i'd write one. They all treat you like your not a customer but a friend who needs help with their car. I was considering buying a new car but Mirek said he would fix up all my dents and scratches, put in new seat covers and put in a new top. The price was fair and unbelievable and in 3 weeks i got my car back and i thought i was getting a new car. Mirek said if i was not happy with what was going to happen, he would make sure things would work make things right. I can't say enough about the whole affair. The people at German Tech Auto Repair were able to apply their vast technical expertise, intuition, and possibly psychic ability to discern what damage two previous "repairs" had done to my car. I barely limped in to their service area one day, hopeful that they could help, but with no real expectations. To my tremendous relief and joy at having my car back and fully functioning as it did before, they, most especially Mirek, were able to find the errors in the previous " repairs" and make the needed corrections. I've been coming to German Tech since I bought my 1987 560SL over 20 years ago... They were in North Hollywood at the time. They've since moved out to Thousand Oaks and I still bring my car to them. I always get the best advice and the absolute top of the line service. I tried going to another repair shop around the corner from my house (Sherman Oaks)... I got messed over with shoddy work and ridiculous charges... I will never make that mistake again. I tell everyone I know if you want the work done right, and the price to be fair go to German Tech and ask for Mirek. For me it's a drive, but I'm very picky and I want my work done right. read more

I came to German tech few years ago after buying a SLK230, i had a small oil leak and Mercedes wanted to make me pay 150 for just looking at it. So Mirek the owner opened the hood and fixed it in no time at no cost. Since then i buy cars only from him and repair them only at his shop. Even if I had to move away from Ventura county i would drive 100's miles to have my cars fixed by him. As a matter of fact i saw the other day someone at his shop coming from Arizona. That says it all. Some customer are also coming from San Diego, he not only takes care of your cars but treat them like his own. So don't hesitate. read more

If you "lucky" enough to own a German car, there is no better place to go.... Mirek and his staff not only repair the defect, they also understand the emotional connection you have with your automobile. I have been seeing him ever since I moved to CA in 98 and developed a great and wonderful relationship. Forget the dealership service they only repair by eliminating one issue at a time until they discover the real problem, Mirek cuts right to the chase and you don't pay for unnecessary parts and labor hours. I have a 2013 BMW 528Xi and since I put a ton of miles on it for work it's become a bit of a money pit. These guys have been doing service on the car for the past year or so and I am happy with how they operate. They do good work at fair prices and they won't try and stick you with repairs or maintenance that isn't necessary for your situation. My husband was 500 miles from home when the thermostat in my 2002 Beetle went bad. Mirek took in the car without an appointment, recognizing my husband's schedule and need to get home. Parts were ordered and installed without delay, and he was back on the road ASAP. These guys are great. I brought my car in during the holiday week expecting to get some god awful cost for fixing a convertible roof problem and finding them days backed up. I was braced for $2000 or some crazy number to replace the raising system. They fixed it in short order for $270 replacing two sensors. When you know nothing about cars (me), they could have told me anything and I would believe it. Highly recommended for workmanship honesty and friendliness. read more

I was driving on the freeway and a truck bed lining in a pickup truck in front of me, flew up in the air and came crashing down and shattered on the front of my car. Maybe this shop can handle simple repairs, but then be very careful and watch that your simple automotive repair doesn't become a major repair, or multiple major repairs like it did in my case.

The electricity in the car never worked right and I had to get a new car. He's a moron and not worth one penny of your money. I don't have confidence in his abilities. These words are harsh but true. He never took accountability for his mistakes and he charged me for it as well. This behavior is not something that should be tolerated by anyone. After I posted this review, he called me to tell me I'm a nasty person.
