I really wasn't happy with the experience I was receiving at the dealership auto service, the customer service was poor and the quality of work. I went to Google and Yelp looking for places that could service a Fiat and decided to visit German Maser Tech (GMT). I had recently moved to Roswell and thought the location was also perfect. The experience was night and day from the dealership.   GMT specializes in European car repair, including Audi, BMW, Fiat, Mercedes, Porsche, Sprinter, Volvo, and Volkswagen.   I contacted GMT and left a voicemail requesting an appointment, the next day I get a call back. This rarely happened with the dealership, I would have to call multiple times just to speak to a person. The guy I spoke to at GMT was very pleasant, and courteous and didn't' make me feel rushed, he answered my few questions and worked with my schedule. He also ordered some wipers for me and stated they would arrive by my appointment time. Awesome!!! It's been challenging finding wiper blades that fit my compact car at auto shops like Auto Zone and Sams.   The location was easy to find, and when I walked in I was greeted immediately, also very different from my dealership experience. The waiting room was very spacious and comfortable. I waited for 1 hour and my car was ready and I was ready to check out. I had a next service sticker placed on my vehicle which is a nice reminder. It was more expensive than the price I pay at the dealership, however, I'm willing to pay a little more for better service and not have to worry about if my car actually had an oil change.   I immediately noticed the difference in my car, it drove so much smoother and it was nice to hear all looks well. read more

Took my GLC for a brake job. German Master Tech called me within 30 minutes asking why I thought I needed a brake job. With 65K miles, I thought I was due for one. They said they would check it anyway. They called me back within the hour and informed me my brakes were perfectly fine. They also told me that the GLC would show me a warning red light when it was time for my brakes to be replaced. Best of all, German Master Tech did not charge me for the brake inspection. read more

I took my vehicle here to have brake work done, the day I dropped it off they gave me a quote, it was reasonable, so I agreed to have the work done. The next day i spoke with them when the work was almost completed to see how things were going and check on the price again, incase they had found something in expected. They quoted me the same price as the day before. Two hours later go to get my car and wow it is $260 more than the two quotes they had given me. Not the way to treat your customers, I can handle a grouchy German gentleman as long as I get good work for a fair price but to have the price inflated after two quotes of a different price, not good, I'll never go back read more

After our most recent weathered storm, I awakened to travel to our great airport. As I arrived at my vehicle, my Audi Q7 wouldn't start. This has never happened to me...ever! I bought this car just because I swear by German engineering...no offense to the American workers Union in which I will one day need you when I decide to run for political office. I found myself in a quandary to which I decided just to call a car service and deal with the matter when I return. Upon my return, I called my local AAA and had them give me a boost. I found German Master Tech and did my ample research as I do for most if not all things. I arrived and was met by Andreas. Since I called ahead and spoke with his partner Thomas, I briefly mentioned my vehicle to which he quickly chimed in the rest of my situation. Brilliant! They communicate as most do not with themselves internally about expectant vehicles and situations. Quickly, they took my vehicle in. As I waited out in the customers' lounge, Andreas summoned me to the repair bay. He pointed out that someone or something had brushed up on the vehicle's passenger side. Sheesh! when and where did this happen? SO, he offered a solution to take resolve the "brush" of whatever or whomever. I thanked him. I even remembered that my sensor was beckoning for my tire pressure to which he also stated he would take care of. Result: My vehicle received a new battery, Interstate battery (85 months), a resolution to the "brush" to its body, air pressure resolution, and most of all a reprogramming of my vehicle. This was my sole reason in my research as the dealership wanted $500 for this service. A dollar saved today...quickly to be used in another. I definitely recommend this place tell them I sent you. I contacted them based on their proposed experience as a German master tech. I'll leave that at face value. However, I had a VERY specific ask in that my 1.9 TDI Jetta engine was going into limp mode and needed a diagnosis PRIOR to work being done; due to being on a budget. Additionally, I wanted to partner up with a repair shop to provide all additional work moving forward so they'd know the vehicle. I wanted a punch list of engine work to be done highest to lower priority. I was told shop rate was $140/hr and it'd be 2 to 3 hours to look over and diagnose... as well as, since this was not a daily driver, it is lower priority in their workload and be a few weeks. Almost 1 week later and a bill of almost $800, the vehicle was "done" and ready to be picked up. I was surprised SO quick as well as the bill! They changed parts that were never discussed, work was never approved and never received a priority work list. I paid the "get out of jail" bill just so I could go elsewhere. The engine remains to go into limp mode AND now the power steering squeals when turning due to their work of changing a belt that we never discussed. No, I did not inform them after picking up because I knew this wasn't the shop for me. I agree with previous comments that the owner is gruff but more importantly I don't trust their work nor business practices. Thus, I decided not to return. read more

I was recommended to this shop by several of my friends who live in Milton. I called on Wednesday and spoke with Jeff he quoted me a price for my an A Service on my car and put me down for an appt on Friday. I arrived for my appt today and was not even put down for an appt and was quoted by an very abrasive arrogant owner a price $40.00 higher. I haven't been treated that rude in a long time. At the end of the day he could have cared less to have my business. And as a women he treated me very rude and abrasive. I spoke with who had referred me and two of them agreed that he is going to ruin his business with his attitude and they both now use a way better German Care Repair a fourth of a mile down the rode. Which is where I went and am very pleased with the price, respect and professionalism. This guy may have been in business a while but has an absolute rude and I don't care attitude. German MasterTech is an outstanding garage that provides fair prices and excellent service! My wife and I were traveling from Virginia to Fort Rucker Alabama for our daughter's graduation from flight school when the fan clutch went out on our 2007 Sprinter van. I started researching local garages that could fix it when I found the German MasterTech website. Based on the experience and online reviews of Andreas and his team GMT looked like a great choice. Unfortunately, we were about 100 miles away in North Georgia. We limped the van into the parking lot on Sunday and happened to run into Marc, one of the technicians, who quickly confirmed that the fan clutch was bad. We didn't have an appointment, but Marc thought they could fit us in the next day. He also allowed us to leave the van overnight. When they opened the next morning Jeff, the Service Manager had already scheduled us and ordered the part. By 11am the work was complete with an oil and filter change, all at a great price and we were back on the road. German MasterTech is a great company. My only regret is that they are not in Alexandria VA where I could use them regularly; though I'm considering driving back the them for any major work! read more

I've been taking my cars to German Master Tech for about 10-years so this review is way overdue. My first encounter was after I went to a big chain for an estimate for my brakes. The price was high and as a result I took my car to German Master Tech. As it turns out the price was about 2/3 less and I also learned I didn't need the other repairs recommended by the chain. Over the years, they've always been honest and told me what "could" be replaced but in most cases told me I could get by with another X miles. The real differentiator, however, is their customer service. My daughter drove a 12-year old BMW while in college and attended Ole Miss. Her car died and she had it towed to a station in town. She called me with the repair estimate which was around $2400. I knew it would be a fortune to tow the car back to Atlanta and had a pretty good feeling the mechanic wasn't being honest with my 20-year old daughter. Of course a parent has no choice to but to pay whatever price is quoted to fix a child's car when she's 300 miles from home. I called German Master Tech and told them I really couldn't tow the car 6-hours to Atlanta and asked if they'd review the estimate. As it turns out the repair shop in Oxford, MS was totally scamming us. Andreas was so mad, he offered to call around Oxford and his repair network to and find a reputable shop in Oxford. I really thought this was above the call of duty! Andreas wasn't able to find anyone reputable in Oxford so we wound up towing the car to Memphis. When it was all said and done the extra effort from Andreas saved us more than $1500. read more

Then, the owner fixed the key fobs for free! Highly recommend this place. I took my 2003 A4 3.0 Quattro here to have the timing belt changed. German Master tech DID NOT change the Valve Cover Gaskets because, "the car was taking too long and we didn't have the parts in house", claimed the owner after first insisting this was not part of the repair. He later admitted AUDI does recommend this to be performed at this service and that he was wrong. This repair shortcut cost me over $2,457.00 to have fixed by the dealer. Since moving to GA from NYC in 2004, the one thing that someone needs to find is that trusted mechanic to replace the one I was leaving. There are literally dozens upon dozens of auto repair shops in the Alpharetta/Milton/Cumming area, so the choices are abundant. I came to GMT based on a referral from a co-worker and have been coming here ever since. Andreas is a pleasure to work with and does the right thing. I spoke to Andreas about a week ago regarding a quote for service on my BMW, after which I was immediately quoted approximately $800. I agreed, and asked about their schedule for that day. He stated to bring it in, but I replied that I would not bring it in if I was not told when they can start on it (it was a 4hr job) since I travel often and need my car. I asked him to call me back, but he did not respond later that afternoon. I called back the next morning and he was very rude, stating "do you want yoh cah fixed oh not" and quoted me an additional $160 FOR THE SAME JOB! When I asked why he would charge me extra, he tried to come up with an explanation "buddy, time is muhnee, vat do you want to do" I explained that his responses were completely uncalled for and he stated that I never call him again! I came here to mount some tires as they were a Tire Rack installer. The work done was okay, but they set the tire pressure incorrectly, failed to honor the quoted price and left a bad experience: 1) Quoted $93 after I told him the model of car and the tire size. When I arrived the guy said it would be a little bit more because the tires being removed are run flat (nobody else charges more for this). I asked him how much. He said he would check but only a little bit more. 2) They started the work without quoting it. 3) They then told me it was $143 after they began the work. That is not a bit more, it is 54% more (a lot more). 4) They rolled my tires into the car next to mine, which may have scuffed the other persons bumper (I am not certain but it was a sign of lack of care that led me want to watch the work) 5) They would not let me watch because they felt this was a liability in case I got hurt. I know many other shops which are quite open with letting customers observe the work. 6) I found out later that they set the tire pressure too low - 32 PSI instead of 36/38 front/rear. They do okay work, but the unfair pricing and unwillingness to let customer observe work is not acceptable. I know other independent shops that honor their quotes and allow customers on the floor. To put the price in context, I was quoted by Discount Tire for $100, and by the actual BMW dealership for $129.99 - In both case including valves stems etc. read more

After several unhappy experiences over the years with independent AtlantA BMW shops that offered bad advice and just wanted to take my money I ventured out here to get a second opinion on a repair one of the above shops told me to do for $4600.00. Suffice to say that this shop did not feel that the expensive repair was necessary. They could have taken my money but didn't and that is rare and I am grateful for their honesty. So I've let them do my standard maintenance- brakes/oil /suspension and I could not be more pleased with the work and customer service.
