This is for my 2016 experience in this clinic. 2…read moreappointments in 2 weeks, both early Monday mornings First appointment: I got confused and came 1 hour 30 mins early. Even though I have an appointment, I didn't know my school needed a full physical exam, so they clinic had to do an unscheduled physical exam, which they normally don't do. So I appreciated that. Total time: 2 hours Second appointment: I arrived 15 mins early for a follow up. I agree with the other reviews below about the front desk's attitude. Both times I said hi after coming through the door, neither of the front desk girls said hello. No one said to have a seat, to sign in or to fill out any form. First time, I put my name on the sign in list and I knew I was a new patient so I started filling out a new patient form (because like I said, no one was even acknowledging my presence). Boy, that's got the girl UNHAPPY that I was jumping the gun. Well excuse me for doing what I was supposed to do. Second time, no "hello" but at least I got a "thank you" for the co-pay. I used to work in a doctors office so I know what's up, and I also know it's tough if you're real busy and ppl don't treat you right. So, I forgive them, but I'm giving them a low review still because the massive amount of attitude they hand out to other patients. Surprisingly, when I was in with Dr. Schmalz and his assistant, they tried really hard to accommodate my unscheduled physical exam and took care of everything. I was amazed and felt very "loved." There was no rushing or rudeness. The doctor and the nurse seemed to know each other for a long time so between themselves there's a type of communication that would take a stranger some getting-used-to. Between themselves, they're gonna sound like they're mad at you for just being there, but they really are not because when they talk to you, they're really nice. So, don't be intimidated. If you want to use this clinic, I highly recommend coming in earlier in the day.

I've been a patient at the Varona office for approximately 10 years and every time I go it's always…read morejust such a pleasant experience. Granted it's a doctors office so sometimes there's a wait, COVID has forced us all to be more patient, they are busy and things can get overwhelming, etc. Just be patient. Imagine what our days have been? Now multiply that by 50 and maybe you'll understand theirs. Dr. Ambrosio I can't say enough about. He's honest, he's real, smart -- no nonsense, and has a great sense of humor if you give this a minute to come out. The staff, nurses, PA's, all of them are wonderful. I went to FC on a whim years ago for a cold/sinus visit and am so grateful to have the team as my full time covering doctors office.

Review: My wife took…read moreour daughter for a sudden visit to see Dr. Grossier yesterday, as my daughter had a rash/welts all over her body. Unfortunately, I was unable to accompany them in person and was on the phone during the visit. From what I heard and what my wife experienced, the encounter with Dr. Grossier was nothing short of terrible. He was rude, dismissive, and even made an inappropriate under-the-breath comment saying "she should've been here" while I was on the phone. His behavior toward both my wife and his staff was condescending and unprofessional. He came across as cocky, arrogant, and lacking any compassion for patients or the people working around him. For someone who is supposed to be a medical director, his conduct was shocking and unacceptable. A dermatologist should care about their patients and provide reassurance during stressful situations--not make them feel belittled. I will absolutely make sure to share our experience with others, because no family should have to go through this type of treatment from a doctor. Do yourself a favor and find another dermatologist who actually cares about their patients. Terrible experience--never again. Would you like me to make it shorter and more direct for Google/Yelp (where shorter reviews usually get more visibility), or keep it long and detailed for something like a formal complaint to the practice/medical board?

He wanted 2 separate scheduled appts for removal. They both were very small and I needed two visits. He is clearly about billing. I wanted a biopsy before the removals, especially for the pea-size one that sticks out. How do I know it will be cut out with enough care as a plastic surgeon would do? How do I know if it even needed to be cut out? The other bump was not visible and was tiny but he said to have it cut out the following day. He said, Trust me you do not want to do them separately, then quickly walked out of the room. There were no reasons or explanations given. All the talking done was fast and to his assistant who took notes. Many other doctors show you more care, so look around until you get a caring doctor. I scheduled with a doctor who came recommended.
