Review: My wife took our daughter for a sudden visit to see Dr. Grossier yesterday, as my daughter had a rash/welts all over her body. Unfortunately, I was unable to accompany them in person and was on the phone during the visit. From what I heard and what my wife experienced, the encounter with Dr. Grossier was nothing short of terrible. He was rude, dismissive, and even made an inappropriate under-the-breath comment saying "she should've been here" while I was on the phone. His behavior toward both my wife and his staff was condescending and unprofessional. He came across as cocky, arrogant, and lacking any compassion for patients or the people working around him. For someone who is supposed to be a medical director, his conduct was shocking and unacceptable. A dermatologist should care about their patients and provide reassurance during stressful situations--not make them feel belittled. I will absolutely make sure to share our experience with others, because no family should have to go through this type of treatment from a doctor. Do yourself a favor and find another dermatologist who actually cares about their patients. Terrible experience--never again. Would you like me to make it shorter and more direct for Google/Yelp (where shorter reviews usually get more visibility), or keep it long and detailed for something like a formal complaint to the practice/medical board? read more

Unsettling appointment. The visit was Extremely Rushed after waiting a 1/2 for the appointment first thing in am. More importantly, He did not explain what both growths were to be cut out. He wanted 2 separate scheduled appts for removal. They both were very small and I needed two visits. He is clearly about billing. I wanted a biopsy before the removals, especially for the pea-size one that sticks out. How do I know it will be cut out with enough care as a plastic surgeon would do? How do I know if it even needed to be cut out? The other bump was not visible and was tiny but he said to have it cut out the following day. He said, Trust me you do not want to do them separately, then quickly walked out of the room. There were no reasons or explanations given. All the talking done was fast and to his assistant who took notes. Many other doctors show you more care, so look around until you get a caring doctor. Dr. Glossier was so helpful, his professional staff helped me during a procedure that I needed done. I walked in nervous but Dr. Grossier put me at ease by taking the time to explain the step by step process. I waited for an hour and 15 minutes in the waiting room, where there were at least 15 people waiting at the same time. When the PA came into the room, she asked if I want a full body scan. I said yes. The doctor came in, identified the problem that I had on my skin, and then looked at the top of my back, never actually doing a full body scan. He then prescribed an antibiotic for 30 days (!!!!) and told me to come back in two weeks. He also told me at least twice that he will give me his cell phone number and came into the room with his card and pointed to the cell phone number. I can't wait to see how much the office bills my insurance for the full body scan that never occurred. NOT A GOOD EXPERIENCE AT ALL! read more

Writing this review based on my girlfriend's experience. She went in with a freckle on her hand and was concerned about it. This doctor told her she had to get into a gown wearing little else, so he could search all over her body for a cancer screening. OK fine, I guess you could say he's being thorough and checking her for moles and anything out of the ordinary. My girlfriend is very beautiful though, so right away my radar went up that this guy was doing this just so he can get a look at her in her panties. My suspicions were confirmed that this Guy was inappropriate and hitting on my girlfriend when he started talking about "her beautiful face" and later gave his business card with his cell phone number on it and said, "call me anytime"! Going to venture a guess this guy does not give his card and cell phone to every woman who comes in there and definitely not to any men! In my life I've been to many dermatologist and not one, has ever given me their card with their cell phone on it! Very disgusting and inappropriate doctor...don't go there unless you want to get gawked at while you're half naked and hit on! read more

Do not book appointment unless you are willing to wait 1 hour to be seen. I guess Dr. Daniel Groisser at The Derm Group feels he is the only one that has a job. This is my 2nd experience once in West Orange,& 1 in Nutley. When asked about this wait they mentioned this is how he books. So I guess he doesn't want to wait or loose any money but I should loose a days pay or be late to my job. I'll find another doctor. I felt like I did not matter or maybe just not important enough. Horrific experience! I waited over an hour to be seen. Dr. Groisser comes in clearly in a rush, asks me one question (where do I work-- which really does not have relevance to the issue that was at hand), barely looks at me, tells the nurse to order me a cream and then LITERALLY with one foot out the door asks if I have any other questions. As I'm standing there baffled and confused at the behavior and lack of professionalism, I try to ask about a recent medication change that I had that may have affected my issue. Without even listening to my reasoning or explanation he says "no that's not it. It's your mask" and proceeds to wave his hand in a "hurry up" gesture to me. (NEWSFLASH: COVID IS NOT THE ANSWER TO EVERYTHING!) He leaves to get me samples of the cream and comes back (I'm still baffled), and I ask why this has to do with my mask because I've been wearing it for a year and haven't had issues like this with my skin. (Hence my prior question about my medication change AND my confusion as to why he didn't ask anything about my lifestyle or surroundings with my skin issue.) He mumbles something under his mask and I barely hear him, then he's out the door again. I wait outside for a follow up appointment. The 2 receptionists are busy checking people in instead of getting people out the door. There were 2 people behind me. I would think the point of 2 receptionists would be 1 for check in and 1 for check out, but hey I'm just using common sense here. When I called the office for the appointment, the voicemail said the office was open until 5:30pm. When I asked if there were appointments after 4:00pm, I was told no. Well... which is it then? Why is your information inconsistent!? I received a phone call from the pharmacy stating that the cream he ordered would cost me close to $100 with my insurance. There is no generic and I have not heard back about whether my request for a different cream was confirmed. I felt extremely unheard and like just another paycheck for him rather than a patient. I felt he made a very big and generic assumption (because of the place I work) that my mask was the problem, when in fact, where I work, I do not need to wear it all the time due to proper social distancing and having my own office space. I did not appreciate waiting for over an hour and then being told to hurry up. The lateness was YOUR fault Dr. Groisser, NOT MINE! (In fact, I was 15 minutes early for my appointment AND had to leave work for this appointment.) I will be canceling my follow-up appointment as this was a horrible experience even after a family member had gone to him a few months ago and had a great experience. From what I have heard from some others, this is a regular occurance at his office. He should be ashamed about how he treats his patients. I don't know how he's won all those awards on his wall if his bedside manner is this disgusting! read more

I've never written a review for a medical service, but Dr. Groisser and all the staff at The Derm Group in Nutley were outstanding. Right off the bat the check in and registration were easy and done electronically as you sit (no more xerox hard to read out of focus copies!). No tedious wait times, the appointment was right on time. What I thought was above and beyond was this: Dr. Groisser removed a small cyst from my back, stitched it up, and then handed me his card with his private cell phone number on there and told me to call or text if I needed anything before seeing him next. After a few days of healing, the area looked like it might be getting infected, so I took a pic, sent him a text at 7 in the morning, and within 15 minutes he answered me with instructions. I thought that was great....but then came to find out that when he received the text, he was actually in Chicago! In the middle of the night! This level of care and service is commendable, and I can only wish that every medical experience, or any experience at all, could be this satisfying. I seldom go to doctors or anything, I keep in shape and watch what I eat, but this rare time when I had to go and have a procedure was just outstanding. Way to go guys, highly recomended! Dr. Groisser in my opinion deserves every award and recognition he has received. When one goes to a Dr. it is important to find someone who has the total package. From an office staff that has 21st century processes that allows scheduling appointments on-line, to checking in the day of the appointment using an i-Pad application, to automated co-pay billing options. All of the above cannot be over stated and leads to a very efficient "office staff" experience which is most important in today's healthcare environment. The care and professionalism one receives from Dr. Groisser medically is most reassuring because his skill and experience will result in the correct diagnosis and the best possible treatment. I have been going to him for years for yearly Body "scans" to check for Pre Cancer skin conditions. During my most recent check up is when Dr. Groisser demonstrated why he is among the very best. The results for the biopsy he ordered were delayed. He immediately focused on the importance of making sure we got the results ASAP. He escalated and fortunately for me the " basal cancer cells " which were diagnosed were immediately scheduled to be addressed via MOHS surgery, also performed by a member of the Group Dr. Marc Gloshofer. (who was also amazing) I highly recommend Dr. Groisser. He is a professional; he has a very nice patient to Doctor bedside manner which allows him to be personable and yet at the same time remain efficient so he can move onto the many other patients we sees on a daily basis. Depending on the day and time which you schedule your appointment, your wait may be an extended one. But my comment to that is "how often have you ever waited at a Good restaurant?" When something is that good it is worth the wait. I recommend Dr Groisser, unconditionally knowing the medical care I receive will always be excellent. read more
