Before bringing the item in, I had spoken with someone on the phone about the repair and provided pictures so they could see exactly what I was asking about. Once I arrived, I was told they actually don't work on those types of glass repairs at all. One of the suggestions I was given was to try gluing the broken glass back together myself. I completely understand that not every shop can take on every type of repair. What was frustrating was going through the effort of contacting them beforehand, explaining the situation, and providing pictures, only to find out after arriving that they do not work on that type of project. Their glass work may be great, but the communication in my experience was frustrating. A clear answer upfront would have saved a lot of unnecessary time and hassle.

But the quote came in so low, I was a little doubtful that there wouldn't be some hidden fees. Some of the larger glass repair companies came in 100-300 dollars over what Abe's quoted. Joe answered the phone and told me they were only for a special sale but that if I came it at 8 a.m. Monday, they would have me in and out in a couple hours. When I got there at 8 a.m., there was already a line in front of me. They had opened early apparantly. They told me they took no reservations and that they were booked up and I would have to wait in the back of the line. That would have been fine, except they were extremely rude in doing so. They were utterly dismissive of my concerns and offered no help. Joe told me they weren't even open Sunday -- despite their posted hours saying they were and despite him having answered the phone. I noticed a crack in my windshield of my car and called Safelite. Got an appointment pretty…read morequickly. They sent me updates of their arrival time and were there within the window of time given. Upon inspection of my window, it was found that the crack was longer than I expected, so it could not be repaired, it had to be replaced. They would have to come out the next day for that since I didn't know the size of the crack, and they did not have a windshield with them. The same scenario for the next day. Arrived within time given , replaced windshield, and had to take it out for a 10 minute drive to calibrate the cameras. All in, took about an hour in my own driveway. I did not have to go anywhere. Very convenient! Both of the technicians were very respectful and did their job. I would not hesitate to use them again should I ever need their services.
