They refused to apply the new bra because of the condition of the repaired paint. They said they did not want the debris in the Performance paint job to look like they failed to clean the surface before they put on the new bra. They also pointed out the difference in paint color which was very noticeable under their lights. I took the car back to Preformance and was told "I guess we can try and wet sand it to smooth it out". When I asked about the color they just told me the white pearl was hard to match... It took him about an hour, then he was on his way, allowing space for the tech to calibrate the windshield. Rob was the one to perform the calibration. I really appreciate that he went above, & beyond to take my car to the shop to calibrate there versus on site, which had sub-par conditions (not Mel's fault at all, of course). I remember having a few questions the first time we met and they simply replied "we got this, it's what we do", it was nice to go home knowing that they would handle all the details. If you care about your car and your safety this is the place to go, they go above and beyond simply fixing the dent including checking to make sure that there isn't more damage you can't see from the outside and checking your sensors/cameras/safety systems so that they continue to work the way they are designed to. I also must mention that I was not charged for the days that my vehicle sat on the lot before insurance was settlements , which happened to be nearly 2 weeks. I had friends warn me that I would be charged a storage or parking fee for all those days and the awesome folks at Caliber didn't charge me a dime! I was so happy that they thought that practice was as ridiculous as I did and even happier to tell my friends that I wasn't charged!!

About a week later I took it in. The other driver's insurance (Progressive) was paying the bill. The insurance company was a little intransigent at first and the two different estimates were way apart, but that was worked out. They did a beautiful job on my 9 year old car and when I picked it up it honestly looked like it had come right out of the showroom. Even washed it good. The customer service was really great and communication was terrific. They have been around for 50 years and it's easy to see why.

Following is the timeline of [non]events; Monday -- I left the car at Volvo Cincinnati. Tuesday -- No news Wednesday -- I received a call from Ron to the effect that the necessary part was not in stock, and would not be available for two weeks. I offered to retrieve the part from Louisville and/or Nashville Volvo while traveling for work. No go -- the part had to be ordered from Sweden. Ron apologized profusely. I appreciated the predicament that the initial service rep put him in; however, there was no offer of a loaner. (It would have been a nice gesture given the lengthy delay.) Two weeks and a few days later after a couple of terse text messages describing my frustration over the situation -- the car was ready. ($1k+) Two days later -- Power steering fluid GUSHES from the car so badly that I had to have it towed back to Volvo Cincinnati. (See photo). Ron arranged for a loaner this time. No charge for the extra service--a loose connection caused by a rusty component. I have so many questions. Why did the initial service rep not know that the part was unavailable? Why did it take two weeks to arrive? Did I receive such bad service because my Volvo is an older model? Because I'm an older model? Because I'm a woman? Why did the mechanics not replace the rusty component while they were initially servicing the car? Why did they not notice a loose power steering fluid receptacle? Why was I not offered a loaner at the outset of the delay? Why didn't I go to Sweden myself for the part? Is this luxury service for a luxury brand? In the end, I don't care what the answers are because I will never again consider Volvo Cincinnati for service or sales. One star is for Ron who handled the situation, to include my terse texts, like a damage-control pro.
