My besties truck broke down off Highway 17 in Richmond Hill and we discovered this shop based on location. After checking reviews online, he called and spoke with the manager, Larry, who was immediately personable and helpful. Chris (the bestie) went up to the shop to meet with Larry to explain the issues and see if it's something they could help with. Chris was impressed with the shop which appeared very clean and organized and felt very comfortable and confident after meeting with Larry. He needed a tow, and Larry recommended someone he knew who gave him a great price and handled it almost immediately. Throughout the process, Larry was helpful with information and suggestions, and we got the truck repaired quickly and at a very reasonable cost. Fast-forward to my own car having issues. Based on our first experience, we called on a Friday mid-morning to see if they could squeeze us in. Not only could they accommodate us, they got us in right away! Larry went out of his way to research the parts we needed and find the most cost-effective/timely solution. Within FOUR HOURS, my car was repaired and ready to go! When I picked it up, it was EVEN LlESS than originally estimated because they had saved me approximately $100 by not replacing a gasket unnecessarily after checking that it was good to go as is. Something else worth mentioning is how personable and friendly everyone at the shop was. Let's face it, automotive repair shops aren't always known for having the friendliest staff, but everyone I encountered here seemed genuinely friendly and even jovial! To me, that says something about how a business is managed. My impression is that they value their employees and maintain enough staff to provide the quick turnaround they advertise. My insurance company recommended me going to Safelite but after reading their horrible reviews I felt like if I went and something bad happen to my car it was my own fault. After searching around and comparing google and other fellow Yelper reviews I discovered Coastal Glass Works. I explained my situation and how I needed to have my front windshield replaced and a possible recalibration and that my insurance would be covering the cost and would they be able to help me. The lady on the phone was super helpful and friendly and let me know the process I first needed to take with my insurance before they could take the job. After contacting my insurance CGW reached back out to me the same day to set up my appointment for that Friday. We ended up having to move it to the following week due to Ian. Gotta love hurricanes! I'm busy during the day and don't have the availability to do a drop off or wait at home for them to come out to me. Which would be a bonus for someone else that may not be able to make a shop visit. They had told me 8-8:30 for Friday morning. I arrived on time and was greeted right off by a wet overly excited brown lab and the owner. There was one person in front of me but I appreciated that he acknowledged that I was waiting and let me know he would be right with me. The front room is small but roomie with seating to the left and a DIY Pinterest desk... I ended up waiting for them to complete the install. I enjoyed learning more about the owner and his sister and I had puppy kisses and snuggles while I waited. The back shop area where the restroom is located is clean and organized. They had me in and out in about 2hr and three other people came and went while I was there with small repairs or fixes but I never felt like they weren't taking care of me. The end result... I no long have a U shape crack in my vehicle and it looks great! The owner went over the paperwork with me which wasn't much considering my insurance was handling it and showed me my new windshield and explained care instructions everything to me. They vacuumed all the glass out of my car and clean my windows. Bonus considering I haven't washed my car in weeks! Lol I highly recommend them for their customer service, follow up and work. I did get a quote on what it would have been if I paid out of pocket. And considering that if Ian hadn't come and they could have gotten me in the same week. It was a overall great deal!
