I went initially to get my car diagnosed and ended up telling them about my problems with my key fob in the process. I had already told them that I switched the battery out but they insisted they could fix it so I agreed. They told me the key was fixed and the car was ready for pickup, but when I got the car back there were scratches and scuffs all over the paint and the key fob was still not fixed. I expressed this to them and they said we can't do anything about it and it's not on them if the car got damaged on their property. Also all they did was change the battery to the key fob, which I had already told them I'd had done, but wouldn't give me the money back because they threw away my other battery I had already put in the fob. WOULDNT RECOMMEND!!! read more

This is a bit long, so... I had taken two of my vehicles to Carma before this latest service, and for the most part, they always did a good job. Even this latest was done, it appears, perfectly - with one minor detail. Thus the "OK" rating. It wasn't the detail that changed my opinion on the facility and techs - it was the response from the owner when I brought it to her attention. My Ram 3.6 was in for a common issue; oil cooler assembly leaking oil after 100K. While everything was opened up on the upper part of the engine, I had the spark plugs and coils changed, as well as the valve cover gaskets replaced. This was expensive, but it needed to be done. I wiped out my checking account, but now it was good for at least another 100K+. All good. But - I picked up my truck after hours. Before starting it, I looked everything over and checked the oil. Nothing was showing on the dipstick. Nothing. I thought, "That can't be right." I tried again. Nothing. I took a video of me cleaning the dipstick, then checking the oil again, and showing it to the camera up close. I sent the video to the owner, letting her know that there was an issue with the service. I crawled underneath and checked for leaks. There was a bit of it, but I guessed that was just the remaining oil that they missed when cleaning. The pan plug was tight, so - I then started the truck, turned it off and checked again. There was oil in it, just low. I picked up two quarts nearby and it turned out to be a bit over a quart low. I stopped by a service center near my home and had the truck put on a rack, cleaned the oil off, dried it, and drove it home. Over the next two days, I close checked for any leaks or issues. Nothing. All good. Here's what pi$$ed me off. I received a response from the owner, saying the truck needed to be brought back in to have a look. I explained everything I had done after picking up the truck, and that there was nothing to check. No leaks - just wanted her to know about the incorrect oil fill. Her response was a list of what the tech did when filling the oil, that they use a metered oil pump, etc, etc. Her final response? "We completely understand if we are not the right shop for you." Really? My response: "I trust your statement, but it doesn't take a genius to realize that a vehicle that was just filled with oil should not be a quart low before it's even cranked up upon pickup. There are no leaks - so I'll leave it up to you to determine how it came up with nothing showing on the dipstick." I went on the reminding her that this was not the first time I was argued with about an issue with a repair. My Mustang rear end was rebuilt incorrectly, and the tech took offense to the issue being brought to his attention. He later had to apologize after driving the vehicle. It was never right after that repair. I sold it soon after. I explained, "So both, technicians and machinery can be out of calibration. In this case I simply brought an issue to your attention. --Thanks" That was it in a nutshell: I simply brought an issue to her attention. No response. BTW - my truck is still leak-free, and the oil level hasn't budged after December 22nd. So again... why was it over a quart low when I picked it up? I'm truly disappointed about this. Honestly, if the response from the owner - ANY owner - had been: "Very sorry about that. Let me look into it. Meanwhile, drop by and I'll reimburse you for the oil you had to buy..." I would have felt better about the outcome, and this shop would not have lost a customer - one that has spent a LOT of money at her business. read more

Another great experience at my trusted auto mechanic shop! I had a "Service Engine Soon" warning light that came on but went off 3 days later. I take great care of my BMW which had been in for inspection and repairs the last few months, but I made an appointment at Carma anyway to just check it out. Moira took care of me, ran the diagnostics and let me know what the issue was. My car was in their shop for 16 days. The communication was lacking, I had to call every day to see what was going on. She charged me $1500 to fix my vehicle prior to fixing it, and they didn't fix the issue. The manager Moira is hostile when you approach them about your bill when they haven't fixed the problem. I suggest you record every interaction you have with them like I did. I have her recorded and yelling and cussing me out and kicking me out of her office TWICE when I went to discuss the 1500 bill and to pick up my keys. She won't contact me and is keeping the $1500 I paid her (Moira) for not fixing my car. I even told them what the issue was when I dropped it off. They also lied to me about the warranty to sell me more parts. They offer a money back guarantee if they don't fix your car. That's another lie. I'm contacting the BBB and a lawyer and I will not back down until she does the right thing. She lacks accountability for anything that goes wrong in her shop. Fair warning to anyone going there, she is extremely rude and has a serious lack of common decency. CARma Auto Care: A nightmare experience! Where do I even start with this horrible service experience that I've had at CARma auto care. I brought my vehicle in to have an oil change, brake pads replaced, and the spark plugs changed. I dropped the vehicle off at 8 AM on Monday, September 16, 2024. Usually before a mechanic does any work they perform a diagnostic and approve the prices and the services with you. CARma auto care did not do that. CARma performed a diagnostic on my vehicle well also completing an unauthorized oil change for $126.26. Oil changes for my Subaru Crosstrek can be performed at Valvoline or Take 5 for around $80. When I called to authorize and deny services on the diagnostic report at 10am, I decided I did not want to perform an oil change and was told that it had already been completed and I would be charged for it. I then approved the spark plugs service ($352.55), rear wiper blades ($16.84), engine air filter ($81.40) for a grand total of $577.06, including the unauthorized oil change for $126.26. I then waited to be contacted that my vehicle was ready to pick up. CARma auto care closes at 5pm and by 4pm I still had not received any communication. I called Carma auto care and was told they "forgot to tell me my car was ready because they are short staffed." I picked up my car at 4:30pm and paid my invoice. I arrived back at my apartment at 5pm and later that day around 6:30pm I went to start my car and it started and immediately turned off. I started the vehicle again and it immediately turned off. The 3rd time it started up just fine. In the 2 days since their service my car now starts and immediately turns off at least 2x before running properly. I had my battery tested at AutoZone today and my battery is 100% charged. While at AutoZone I discovered that I am also now missing various clips on my air intake mounts. I called CARma auto care on September 18, 2024 to explain the issues I was experiencing. I was told to bring my vehicle in to the shop so they can perform another diagnostic. When I walked in to the office I explained that I was very disappointed in the service and before bringing my vehicle to CARma auto care I have never experienced the starting issues I am now experiencing. The lady at the front desk threatened that if they found something wrong not related to their service work I would be charged a diagnostic fee of $160 & my car may not be serviced that day. I have never before experienced a front desk so unprofessional and rude. I am now taking my vehicle to the Subaru dealership to have mistakes made by CARma mechanics properly diagnosed and addressed. I would give their service 0 stars if that were possible. Do not bring your car here unless you want their mechanics to lose mounting clips on your engine and create more work for you when you have to take it to the dealership to fix their mistakes. read more

My car sat in my garage for 6 weeks and the battery died. I jumped the battery and everything was fine, except the a/c wouldn't do on. It was the hottest week of the summer, and I had no a/c. I called other repair shops who could fit me in 2 weeks to a month from now! I put a request on Yelp and CARma got back to me that evening! I called in the morning and brought it in that afternoon. They ran the Climate Control diagnostic and discovered it just needed a reset. They only charged me for the diagnostic. read more

They looked it over, quoted me on some work that needed to be done in the future, and sent me on my way. I've used this woman owned auto repair shop in the past and there is no more professional and experienced shop in Savannah. She obviously takes a lot of time selecting her mechanics and staff. I experienced no joy when my car started hopping up 95 and refusing to go over 50 mph. This mechanic was the nearest on Google so I pulled in. I became extremely worried when I saw how close they were to the airport (expensive/wallet gutting normally). I was so relieved when they were incredibly friendly and able to get me in. The problem was targeted fairly quickly and they said they could get the parts in same day which was such a relief. The labor price was lower than many shops I have been to and the part prices were on par. I'm more than happy with how fast this shop works, but more importantly was how nice everyone was that works here. I would definitely return, but let us hope that it won't be necessary! They stayed open a little longer than was needed and I am so appreciative. My car is running FAR better now. read more

I have been taking my two cars to Carma Care for approximately two years, was happy with their service, and had posted a positive review. As a Christian, I rarely post negative reviews but given the severity, resulting danger to which I was exposed, and the attitude of the owner of Carma Care, I must post this review. I have no interest in lying, exaggerating, or talking negatively about someone. I waited three weeks to post this to ensure that everything in this review is factual vice emotional. My concern is that someone else may have a similar experience and lose a wheel, like I almost did. In April 2023, Carma Care performed a wheel rotation during which the mechanic only PUT THE LUG NUTS ON HAND TIGHT (which was later verified by two independent mechanics), that could have proved fatal, given that my front wheel almost came off on the interstate highway. I was 200 miles into a 1000 mile trip when the car started to make a loud noise and shuddered. I got off the interstate and noticed that two adjacent lug bolts on the left front wheel had sheared off. The nuts had not only come off, but THE LUG BOLTS HAD BROKEN OFF, so it was not a simple matter of installing new nuts. I nursed the car to a repair shop and by the time I got there I was down to one lug on the front wheel, which was tilting badly, and I was missing several lugs on other wheels. Imagine what would have happened if the front wheel had come off in heavy traffic on an interstate highway at 70 MPH. While I was waiting for service, I emailed Carma to inform them of the situation. I stated that Carma had recently either done a brake job or a wheel rotation on the car. I could not remember which. I said that I would continue to do business with Carma if they would inform the mechanic, so that the same thing would not happen to someone else. I did not ask for anything else. The response from the owner, Moira, was that Carma had not done a brake job, and the lug nuts would have come off sooner if they were loose. Moira would not acknowledge that Carma had performed a wheel rotation. When I was able to access my records, I emailed Moira back and confirmed that Carma had performed a wheel rotation on April 7 and told her that the car only gets used for trips and had therefore sat in the garage since the wheel rotation had been performed. (I am the only driver on both cars. No one snuck into my garage and loosened the lug nuts.) I reiterated that I would continue to have Carma service my two cars if she would simply inform the mechanic of his error. I asked for nothing else. Moira never responded to this email. I followed up with a phone call to Adam at the front desk at Carma and told him that we are all human and make mistakes, but because of Moira's attitude, I would be posting a review. I still have not heard from Moira. I have not asked for reimbursement, admission of guilt, satisfaction of warranty of their work, etc. I simply wanted to make sure that the mechanic did not make the same mistake on someone else's car. Clearly, Carma does not stand behind their work, which is surprising, given the following response of Moira to a positive review by Colin on July 18, 2022: That's what LIFETIME warranty on labor is all about. Apparently, there is no warranty on a simple wheel rotation. I lost significant time on my trip, and two mechanics told me that my front wheel needs to be replaced because the stress caused the lug holes to elongate. Once I replace the wheel, my total outlay will be well over $1000. Moira has decided that it is more important to lose years of guaranteed future business on my two cars than to simply tell me that she educated the mechanic, which is all that I asked for. read more

Over the last two tears I've spent thousands on getting the worn out, original components replaced on my 22 year old 4WD vehicle at Carma. They've done a great job of servicing it and it runs and drives very well. I have high confidence of having no problems when I have to drive back to Bothell. Moira and Steve are very attentive to making sure the work is done right especially when things don't go as planned, which, on a 22 year old vehicle, is like as not. I love the fact that this place is owned by a woman! I was calling around various shops in the area for quotes and had a few annoying experiences (one guy called me "sweetie," which as someone who is pushing 30, I really don't think I fall into the "sweetie" category at this point in my life). Moira makes a concerted effort to make car repair more accessible for folks like myself (people who would just walk or take the train everywhere if they could!). I've never been a car person. Instead of preying on my indifference to automobiles, Moira was honest and upfront about what I actually needed to get serviced on my car. I appreciated that she took the extra time to explain what was needed instead of rattling off a long list of random parts. Big bonus: they picked up my car for me, I didn't even have to drop it off, which is tops! I will definitely come back here if I need any more work done on my car. Took my truck there because my condensor was cracked and they tried to tell me that my transmission may have leaked into my ac system.... so therefore my entire ac system and transmission lines needed to be replaced kind of ironic they're named CARma. Not bad. Wasn't the greatest mechanic however far from the worst. They were very efficient on fixing the problem as I had my throttle body cleaned. Only had a couple issues with their opinion on what else was wrong so I got a couple other one. Most of what they said was right and more than likely they were just being as thorough as possible to make sure the car was safe. Pricing was fair. Customer service was very helpful. Recently had my vehicle in for routine service (oil change, tire balance and brake inspection). They completed the oil change, yet I had to return my vehicle for them to re-check the balance on my tires due to vibration (Vibration in front end), reason was blamed on tires themselves. A year ago they performed a complete brake replacement and would life time warranty the parts and labor for them, so I allowed them to do the work. Over the past 6 month I have been letting them know the front brakes have been pulsating while braking and they claim to have inspected them and cannot re-create the issue. This time the new guy there felt the issue and addressed the issue and deemed them in repair. The gentleman at the counter said he would need to speak with the owner for warranty of them and let me know. I returned the truck to them and they disassembled the front brakes for inspection, photos, and etc. to provide the owner. After the owner's inspection of the front brakes, the owner said "due to some recent mud built up in the area of the calipers that was the reason for the brakes having hot spots and pulsating issue, so they would not be replacing them under warranty." After a few back and forth moments I asked them to put my truck back together and return it to me, "I will take care of it when I get time too". Two days later, leaving the Savannah area and heading on vacation, the truck vibration was bothersome so I pulled off the highway to a Goodyear service center and had them check the tire balance. Seems Carma Auto care neglected to remove the old tire weights (Stick on weights) and so my tires were over balanced (Hammered on weights inside and outside of the rim). I paid $32 verses Carma charging me $56 for the job. Balance Fixed!! Back to my trip, 3 hours or so down the highway I applied the brakes to slow down for an accident and could barely stop the truck, as if the brakes gave way. I was scared my brakes were out and I was not going to be able to stop and possibly cause another accident, so I exited off the freeway as soon as I could. No service centers are open late on a Saturday evening so I located a parts store and asked for assistance. After purchasing tools, we (Parts store guy and I) jacked up my truck and found out the caliper bolts on the driver's side were loose, so we tightened them and then we inspected the passenger side and found that the lower caliper bolt was missing and the top bolt was half way out of the caliper bracket. The rim was damaged as well. The gentleman at the parts store said "You are very luck this didn't give way while still out on highway, you could have been really injured, they should have torqued these bolts down. This wouldn't have happened if they did!" I have tried to make contact with the owner for over a week, yet they are too busy to return my calls. I once was a "Valued Customer", but now I have damage to my vehicle, money spent and time wasted. I have sent this company a lot of referrals and had given them my business for years now, till this. Could have cost me my life with negligence like this!! read more

Took car in for warped rotors. Turns out the front control arms and bushings were worn out. Go figure; 150 K miles and we live on a dirt road. Price quoted was reasonable, RAV4 was returned when promised. I do particularly like that inspections are substantiated with pictures and in the case of the control arm bushings, a short video. On a road trip with my boyfriend and on the way home to Tampa (6 hours away) we stopped for gas and heard a weird noise coming from under the hood.. after googling different things and calling a bunch of different local places that all weren't open that early (not to mention unhelpful and not very enthused to be answering the phone) we called CARma and was very happy to hear a friendly and seemingly accommodating woman on the other end! It was only 5 mins off I95.. they checked the car out right away and offered to bring us to an outlet 5 mins down the road so we could have something to do while we wait for everything to be fixed. The owner even picked us up in the Jeep to show us everything was running smooth. We saved a lot of money by stopping to get it checked out while we did and it was as pleasant as it could be for such a stressful situation. This shop is a big step above. I typically do not trust auto repair shops and have learned to do many things myself to avoid them. However, sometimes a pro is needed, especially with BMW's. The staff is really friendly, thorough, and everything that needed to be done was backed up with photos and descriptions of what was found before proceeding. The old rig "almost made it"!We drove 1000 miles but barely reached Savannah with fluids leaking everywhere and horrible noises. We were panicked. Needed it fixed fast and hopefully not get ripped off. Thanks to YELP, we found CARma and Moira. Thank God! Moira was polite, professional and accommodating. She listened to our story, diagnosed the problem within an hour and had it fixed and on the road in 3 hrs!!!! All for a VERY reasonable fee. I made an appointment for a oil change and tire rotate and balance by phone for the following day. The next morning around 7:30 I got a phone call from Steve. He asked what I was having done and I told him and he said I'm waiting on some one else to get here and then coming to get the truck. So 11 rolls around and haven't heard from them so I call no answer. They call right back I tell them who I am he says headed that way now. Long story short.... They showed up bout 1215 got my truck and drove off. Its 4 now and aint heard nothing so I call guess who answers "Steve" let me call you back he says.... We coming to get you. When we get there Jr. was just finishing with the tires " not mounted yet to truck " but balanced and oil change not done. The whole idea behind me having work done here was for the convenience of pick up and drop off of vehicle. I'm sure this doesn't happen all the time its just my luck! However the front desk looked like a bomb went off. Very unorganized. Steve seemed to be trying his best to get ppl checked out. While in that process another customer had left there credit card from earlier and he tried to give it to me after I paid. If you're going to invite ppl into your shop it should be semi clean.
