Right now, today, they are worth 5 stars to me. Francis is TOP NOTCH. She will not only help you determine what repairs MUST be done, but give you technical rationale as to what work can be deferred. I still think there are some shady dealings there - I think they will still charge you for a 4-wheel alignment even if your car can only take a two wheel alignment. And, they have some funky fee for that alignment. After being quoted $1300 for a suspension repair by Goodyear which involved much unnecessary work, the folks at Savannah Tire told me exactly what needed to be replaced, and what could be deferred so that I could have a safe cross country. They knew that I had just finished spending THOUSANDS on an engine replacement and were very empathetic to my needs just before travelling for the holidays. On another note, several months back, my check engine light came on and the engine started sounding really rough in another car. When I took it to them, again, the same service writer informed me that I could probably replace the spark plugs and coils myself for less than their standard diagnostic fee. So I did. In their parking lot. Part of the reason why I returned the favor and took my suspension repair to them. Good people, good work, but I'll admit, I felt like they were a bit slow. Oh well. I miss service, Mavis tire has purchased most of their competition so they inflate the price and remove the service. You get generic inflated price with generic services don't ask for anything special. You will not get it and they will be honest and tell you it's too much liability. This was the worst experience at any tire shop I have ever had, the lead mechanic there after 2 seconds of looking at my car not even lifted up where he can see underneath it told me that it needed new struts. I knew it needed new suspension in the front end but I wanted the sway bar links replace most of all to correct the steering on the highway, but I went with it to go ahead and get the suspension taken care of as well, informed that I also wanted the sway bar links replaced at the same time, he said he would have to order the parts and would have it for me the next day ready, so I waited and when I arrived near end of day the next day he said that the parts guys delivery team was shorthanded and couldn't get them the parts until the end of day, and it would also need lower control arms. By this time I'm starting to see that this guy is trying to ring up a bill to replace my entire front end and cost me a fortune. I told him to go ahead and replace the lower control arms and struts with the sway bar links and that was going to be all I would need done. The final day that I had it there I arrived to pick up my vehicle to find that they had beaten the strut to almost unrecognizable form trying to get it on, I confronted him about it and told him that he would have to replace that strut out of their own pocket because I wasn't going to drive it that way. And on top of all of this I was also awaiting a tire replacement for all four tires with Mount balance and alignment. All this needed to be done first so the alignment could be accurate. After it was all said and done finally got the strut replaced and then I had to wait another day. The sway bar link still not installed and one tire on the rear passenger not replaced because they stripped two of the lugs to pieces trying to get them off we're all it would have taken was some taps with a socket and a hammer before breaking them loose I then told them to forget it and I would have it repaired myself because I was sick of the hassle. I also found out later that my front passenger side rotor now has Hammer bang marks in it where the mechanic got angry with me for having to replace my strut again. I should have sued for all the damages caused to my vehicle but I just don't care for any more hassle with this stupid company. They suck don't go to them for your needs there are better places. Great service, honest, no pressure upsell. Their Service Writer lets you know of anything was found, but doesn't doom and gloom you into getting your brakes changed or fluids flushed. I have had a few oil changes and tire rotations done along with a flat fix and they have always been up front and great. It was kind of surprising that they charge for a flat repair, as the Goodyear repair centers in Florida never did, but maybe that's just a regional thing. read more

I looked up Savannah tire and called them to see if they had my size tire in stock. When I called, they said that they had my tire in stock, so I went up there to drop my car off. The technician told me that it would be a 2-hour wait and gave me the option to stay and wait for them to repair the car or to leave the car and come back later. I chose to leave the car with them. That turned out to be a big mistake. I left the car there at 11:00 a.m. in the morning. I called back at 3:30 in the afternoon and they still had not touched my car. They are supposed to specialize in tires and I know it doesn't take four or five hours to change a tire. They are good for putting air in your tires when the pressure doesn't match, but unless you mind waiting all day,you may want to go somewhere else. read more

I'm done with this place. Took my car to my trusted mechanic because it was vibrating. He said I had a defective tire and explained why. Since I had a warranty on it I went back to Savannah tire. He said, if they give you any problems call me. ST told me the tire is not defective, that it was just worn bc it needs an alignment and it was my fault because I turned down the alignment when I purchased the tires. He stayed focused on the alignment and the shocks he also said I needed for about 15 minutes. Finally I said, where are you going with this, I came here with a defective tire (the inner band is broken) and I need it replaced under the warranty. He insisted it was not defective and that he knew what he was talking about (even though he never took the tire off). This guy is a new shop manager at this location and he's very cocky. He recited his credentials and said he knows his stuff because he went to school for this. And, he wanted to know if my mechanic had the same creds. I told him he needed to earn my trust because every single time I went there they told me I needed something that I didn't. So I called my mechanic and repeated what I was told. He said, ask him if he put it on the balance machine. If he does, he will see the problem. So I did. He rolled his eyes and responded with "Are you trying to tell me I don't know what I'm talking about?" I said, well, one of you is not being honest with me and since I trust my mechanic it must be you. I had them take the car down and I took it back to Advanced Automotive for tires. Please be super cautious if you do business with these people. And by the way, both of the tires they sold me that time were defective. The first one had a bad valve. I had 3 flats in 2 months before they figured it out. I'll never go back and I hope you think twice about using them too. Have an awesome day! read more

I tried going here for an oil change; tried is the operative word in this sentence. My visit to this location started out a little frustrating due to the person I was speaking with being in training--though he was not being closely supervised at the time, if this is the case. I was informed of this after I was clearly unhappy with my (lack of) services. Tony was unable to pull up my oil type and amount needed to do the change in the normal way. They have a system that pulls this and other information from your license plate/registration. The license plate did not work with their system for my vehicle. I offered to pull up my VIN on my phone to try running it through their system that way, but he declined. A minute later, he walked out to my car instead to get the very information I offered at the desk. I offered to look in my previous paperwork to see what oil had been used the last time, he declined. About 15-20 minutes later, he figured it out, took my key and told me it would be done in about 2 hours and they would call me at that time. That 2 hours rolled by--no phone call. I didn't think much of it until it's 20 minutes before they close and I haven't heard anything. Mind you, this was nearly FIVE HOURS after I had dropped it off. I go back to the location, thinking surely they must have forgotten to call, but no. My car is sitting in the bay, hood up and on the ground. I go inside to inquire about it and it turns out they haven't even started on it. The nice lady says they'll do it right now. I still needed the oil changed and I was already there, so I decided to wait. Ten more minutes pass and no one so much as glances at my car. They're only open for about ten more minutes at this point. The lady I dealt with was nice. She apologized for the situation, but I told them I did not need their services. I should also say that there was another woman with an infant that waited on site for her car to get an oil change as well. She was gone she when I came back, so perhaps it's faster if you sit there as a constant reminder. If you try going here, I suggest you loan them a watch and a dictionary, because they clearly are ignorant of how long two hours is and have no clue what "right now" means. I wouldn't have been upset at all if they had told me upfront that they couldn't do it that day, or even if they had called later and said the same. But they did absolutely nothing, nor did they offer to schedule an appointment for another time--nothing. They may be polite, but the customer service is still very lacking. read more

This place is a funking joke. I bought a battery from them that lasted a week. They fought me on replacing it. I had to go to the dealer and have them test it and print out a paper proving it was a bad battery which costed me 75$ for the test. Than that battery lasted maybe 8mo. I went back to them again cause I was having starting issues with my car. They did their own battery test at Savannah tire and told me it past. About a month after that my car wouldn't start at all. I kept trying to start it finally it turned over and I took it to battery plus store in pooler. They ran a test and discovered the battery was bad. I didn't even bother going to Savannah at this point cause I would have serially gone ape shiit crazy on them for lying to me. Never ever ever do business with these people. Crooks. read more

Had my truck towed to this location from my work with a flat tire..since I was at work all day I had my wife take care of getting the tire which had to be ordered which would take the next day which was fine no worries. Set an appointment for 8 am the next day. My wife then called to get an estimate of what time the truck would be ready so she could get a ride to get it. She was answered by the manager Scott who was very rude saying this truck is a gmc in my computer not a dodge like that matters for a tire change. Plus thats the account we created with her car.Then he tells her idk when it will be ready we are swamped today and I don't see any appointment. Which if that's the case I wouldn't of wasted a tow to get my truck there in the first place. He was just full of ahit and treated a woman with disrespect because she s a female and he's a manager of a tire repair shop. Instead of being helpful and trying to fix the mess up on there end he was rude and left the conversation with we will get to it when we have time.which is not gonna work for me! I've used Savannah Tire for 3 years now and I'm done. I made an appointment today for breaks and oil change, at 1030am, dropped the Truck off at 1015. I took the kids to lunch and a movie, only to get back to this location at 3p and find my truck was just pulled into the shop.‍. This is not the first time, but now the 3rd time this has happened. Last time going here. I had an appointment. They watched me sit and wait for my car for nearly 3 hours for an oil change. Nobody even started on my car by the time they told me it would be finished. Somebody even came in without an appointment and got their tire fixed before me. That's just poor customer service and extremely unprofessional. WHAT A WASTE OF TIME!!! This place takes appointments BUT doesn't keep them!! I had an appointment, after an hour of watching my car sit in the parking lot, asked when they were going to do a simple oil change. I was greeted with "Your car is next in line". That is NOT how an appointment works. There is no point in making an appointment if you walk in or make one, it is a 2 1/2 hour wait. NOT the first time here, but I thought I would keep giving them a chance, even though they take way too long, don't do what you ask them to do (refill windshield wiper fluids, rotate all the tires...). Truck began running rough and check engine light came on. Pulled off and had truck towed to this Savannan Tire in Pooler, GA. Asked service at desk to check engine light and fan on a/c which had stopped working as well. A day later was notified that engine light was due to battery having low voltage and only 3 cells working. After battery replaced service tech told me AC fan started working and he drove the truck for 45 minutes to check the rough running. Claimed transmission was slipping but other items were ok, i.e. fan on AC, dash indicators, etc. When I picked up the truck today 9/5/2020, the truck was located to the side of the garage with the hood up and the old batter setting aside on the concrete and the new battery in place. Driving the truck home, the A/C fan did not work but was told otherwise by the service tech. When I looked at my bill it said I wanted them to check tires, brakes and battery and fan. I only told them to check the engine light and fan. I was charged for a new battery and was told that tranny needed an overhaul. The truck ran fine on the way home, except the a/c fan didn't work at all. I am very displeased. I was told replacing the battery fixed the other items but it did not. The truck looked like it had just been service as the hood was still up and the old battery sat along side it. The old Savannah Tire company had a reputation for quality service. I don't know what happened, but this is the second location that has promised and not provided. The first was on Montgomery Crossroads in Savannah. read more

**PSA! I learned that only 2 guys at this location know how to do an oil change, wtf?** Hands down WORST experience I've every had. Dropped my car off for a standard oil change and rotation/balance. I made an appointment 2 days in advanced. Was asked "how does 8:30am work?" I said sounds good. I get there at 8:30 and drop off my car. Hours pass without any update on my car so at 1pm I call to check. Guy tells me my car hasn't been moved but he will move me to the board. I wait 2 more hours (it's 3pm & almost 7 hrs since I dropped my car off) and head to Savannah Tire to see the status of my car only to find out it still hasn't moved. The lady at the front tells me there are FIVE cars in front of me!! She then informs me that there are only two guys that do oil changes and only one showed up for work today, but he's elderly and slow. OKAY! How tf do only 2 guys do oil changes at a mechanic shop?!? She also says they don't do appointments-it's reservations...because that makes sense. Ultimately I got my keys and left. Slowest service on earth! I was just getting 2 tires put on. I had appointment at 1pm, didnt get done for 2 1/2 hours?! To put 2 tires on?! In a bay that could handle at least 12 cars there were only 4 in at the time? We have previously had our vehicle aligned at the exact same location. They are lazy with no common sense what so ever. They over charged for the tire by about $75 for same tire (I checked after the fact) but we wernt shopping around, just happy to get a tire since we were out of town. We drove about 30 miles and spent the night. When we woke up the next morning that same tire was flat. They had cut the tire stem when putting it on. read more

Not worth your time or money. We've been there 4 times in about 8 months. The 1st time we went I just needed two new tires because I stupidly hit something sharp and it took 4hrs to finish which was fine. I didn't have an appointment and I knew it was going to be a wait even though they told me 2hrs top. 2nd time we just got an oil change and break pads which took an 2hrs but still fine not a big deal. 3rd time was just for an oil change on my grand Cherokee and because I'm an a female they tried to tell me 10 things that were going to need to be done which I knew maybe 2 were true. One was that whoever did my last tire change should of told me that my lug nuts needed to be changed soon... they had done the tire change. Took almost 2hrs to complete a simple oil change. The 4th and last time we will ever go there we had an appointment at 2 for new tires and an oil change, our car was in the lot for 1.5hrs after our appointment time before they got it in and when we called to check on it at like 4:40 (close at 5) they said oh they're finishing up you can head this way. We get there and paid, they forgot to do the oil change. Took them 10 minutes to do it, so I hope it's right, but proves to me that they can do an oil change in less than an hour. Never offered us an alignment because we were on a budget but said they did. We would of pushed it if we had been offered it. Our car sat for an hour and half because they only had one tire machine or whatever working but forgot to do the oil change that could been done in that time. Tried to up sell a bunch of stuff that definitely didn't need to be done but they said was going bad. Both my husband and I grew up around mechanics and just don't have equipment to do it ourselves. Never again. They don't know how to communicate, they don't care about your vehicle, they only care about the money and only push things that bring it in and not the important stuff that actually needs to be done and when they are confronted about it they have answers and lies but no solutions. read more
