My car was hit with debris on i4 in 3 different areas. I went to 4 different auto body shops in the Altamonte area and Gerber Collision & Glass were the only ones I felt comfortable trusting. They correctly identified all the areas that needed to be worked on, answered all of my questions ranging from car parts to insurance, we're always prompt, and I was always able to get ahold of them through the phone. Matt and Arsenio went above and beyond with service and their thoroughness. Not only was my car fixed of any debris casualties, little scratches were buffed out on the car, the inside was vacuumed to ensure no debris from the repair was leftover, but they also made sure to keep me updated on the status of my car and when it would be available for pick up. My car had to be in the shop during Hurricane Milton but they took great care of it and Matt was able to schedule parts and pick-up so that I could get my car back as soon as I could. The cherry on top: I asked for quotes without insurance involvement at all 4 body shops and Gerber was still the cheapest. Imagine buying a new car In January 2025. Now it's February 2025 and Imagine a young, reckless driver hits you directly on your side and completely ruins your- Left front fender, left tire, ENTIRE front driver door, back passenger door, back bumper... all while causing your steering wheel sensor and suspension lights to turn on....with not even 2,000 of your own miles on it. That was our unfortunate situation. We are blessed because we suffered no major physical injuries AND BETHANY FROM GERBER COLLISION performed a repair on our vehicle that only a HIGHLY SPECIALIZED, SKILLED, DETAILED, EXCELLENT auto collision tech could do. Reposting from google to get the word out: I got hit in the side above the rear wheel on the driver's side of my car. Messed up the tire and panel to the gas tank. I drive a Honda Civic, so naturally it would be a pain to repair as Honda likes large, interlocking components. Mr. Waldemar Nieves-Rivera at Gerber Collision & Glass for Altamonte Springs was able to take care of my car on appointment set up by my insurance company. He was able to quickly assess what might be needed, but would know in detail after the inspection. In the office, I got the run down of everything and handed over my keys. As I waited, I recieved periodic texts updating me of the progress and a couple of calls from Mr. Nieves-Rivera. I knew my car was in good hands and on time. You can choose how you're notified by the way (email, text, calls). The repairs were complete and my car was like brand-new where the damage occured. The blending and paint was so well done it's like there was never any damage at all. The damaged tire was replaced as well. They even cleaned the interior. My car means a lot to me as I've had it for about 11 years now; the service I recieved really matters to me. I highly recommend this site and its staff for quality, seamless repairs. They're friendly, communicative, and a general pleasure to do business with. If I had to list a negative, the only gripe I can come up with is the reception parking can be very tight, but that's really reaching. Attached are before and after pics. Sorry to see the poor reviews from 2016, but this is actually the second time I've used Gerber. In Febuary 2016 (my luck!), I was on I-4 after a rain storm, had to hit the breaks, but kept on sliding forward. I got impaled by a make-shift hitch from a truck in front of me that was literally a 3 foot metal rod sticking out the back. It completely messed up my bumper, grill, and trashed my cooling system. Gerber fixed all of that. In these 3 years, never had an issue with the cooling and the paint still looks factory new. I'm adding pics of that as well simply because I think they deserve to have their work showcased. I'm sorry I didn't review in 2016! Easy experience and great customer service!! I was sent to Gerber Collision & Glass for a fender bender I was in. I arrived right at my appointment time, and I greeted by a friendly and kind woman at the front desk (didn't get her name). Paul was able to check me in and examine my car immediately. I also got a rental car and was in and out in about ten minutes. Paul told me to not get too comfy in the renal, and he was right! My car was repaired and ready the next day! This place not only sucks, but they will BS you. They will tell you that you have to sign the paperwork, but also tell you that you can't have a written estimate with out signing the paperwork. However, the document claims they already gave you the written estimate (which they won't give you unless you sign the document). They are BS'ers and you can not trust them. This is illegal business practices. FL LAW - 559.909 Notification of charges in excess of repair estimate; unlawful charges; refusal to return vehicle prohibited; inspection of parts.-- (1) In the event that: (a) The written repair estimate contains only an estimate for diagnostic work necessary to estimate the cost of repair and such diagnostic work has been completed; (b) A determination is made by a motor vehicle repair shop that the actual charges for the repair work will exceed the written estimate by more than $10 or 10 percent, whichever is greater, but not to exceed $50; or (c) An implied partial waiver exists for diagnostic work, as described in s. 559.905(5), and such diagnostic work has been completed, the customer shall be promptly notified by telephone, telegraph, mail, or other means of the additional repair work and estimated cost thereof. A customer so notified shall, orally or in writing, authorize, modify, or cancel the order for repair. (2) If a customer cancels the order for repair after being advised that a repair which she or he has authorized cannot be accomplished within the previously authorized estimate, the shop shall expeditiously reassemble the motor vehicle in a condition reasonably similar to the condition in which it was received unless: (a) The customer waives reassembly, or (b) The reassembled vehicle would be unsafe. After cancellation of the repair order, the shop may charge for the cost of teardown, the cost of parts and labor to replace items that were destroyed by teardown, and the cost to reassemble the component or the vehicle, provided the customer was notified of these possible costs in the estimate prior to commencement of the diagnostic work. (3) It shall be unlawful for a motor vehicle repair shop to charge more than the written estimate plus $10 or 10 percent, whichever is greater, but not to exceed $50, unless the motor vehicle repair shop has obtained authorization to exceed the written estimate in accordance with subsection (1). (4) It shall be unlawful for any motor vehicle repair shop to fail to return any customer's motor vehicle because the customer has refused to pay for unauthorized repairs or because the customer has refused to pay for repair charges in excess of the final estimate in violation of this section. (5) Upon request made at the time the repair work is authorized by the customer, the customer is entitled to inspect parts removed from her or his vehicle or, if the shop has no warranty arrangement or exchange parts program with a manufacturer, supplier, or distributor, have them returned to her or him. read more

I do not recommend this place. I was sent to them by my insurance but wish I knew better. They replaced my bumper but didn't align it well with the hood. I was told the heat over time may fix it. I also noticed spots that weren't painted. I asked that it be redone properly. When I came back the next day the hood and bumper were aligned correctly but the painted spots looked like they were done with a glob of nail polish. I was then given an excuse about the 3 step process it takes to paint. I left my car again and had to come back a third day. Poor work, with little effort, and lame excuses. read more

Do not use Gerber collision center in Altamonte Springs on Sunshine ave! I brought my 2012 BMW 335IS to Gerber Collision and Glass on Sunshine Ave. in Altamonte Springs FL on 8/2/16, I also had an estimate done at Fields BMW Collision Center. I brought it to Gerber because my insurance company said this was an authorized collision center for them and it would be easier in case any other problems arose. This went in for a front bumper cover replacement only; it had a small tear from getting caught on a curb stopper, approx. 1400 to replace with labor. I also paid out of my pocket for a very small dent to be fixed on rear bumper. When I received the estimate from Gerber I noticed they had a different part number for the bumper cover, I did some research online myself and noticed that this was the incorrect part, the one they were going to order only fit an M3 not a 335IS with M-Sport bumper. I drove to Gerber and told them and also showed him the estimate from Fields Collision center, he told me maybe they got it wrong and besides the dealer will send the correct part. The day before picking up my car I got a call telling me that the wrong bumper came in; I was upset since I did the research and made a point of driving to Gerber to tell them he had the wrong bumper on the estimate. I should have known this was going to turn into an ordeal! I went to pick my car up on Monday after work and it was up front backed into a space. I paid got into my car a noticed that the airbag warning light was on, I told the guy that brought me over to my car and he asked me to pull it up so he could check things out, he then told me he would have to bring it back to clear the code. As he was backing up I heard a loud scraping noise and noticed the front tire rubbing on the inside liner they replaced, he told me it was only a couple 10mm bolts and he would tighten them. This should have not happened! The rental car person came to pick up the rental I was dropping off , I asked her to stay in case they were going to keep the car to clear the code which should take about 10 min, we waited almost an hour! Gerber closes at 5:30pm, they brought my car back to me at 5:20pm! I got into my car and noticed the airbag light was off so I left, I got down the street and tried my Bluetooth, not working, tried plugging in my ipod, not working, navigation & radio not working! I called Gerber and was told I could either bring back to them or have the dealer check it out, I told him at this rate I would feel more comfortable with the dealer (Fields BMW) looking at it. My car is in immaculate condition with 34000mi on it. After talking to the dealer he told me the fuse for the amp was missing and looks like the amp itself is blown, total to fixed $1946.00 not including rental. I called Gerber and was told that they do not touch fuses and I told him the dealer told me it was missing and amp blown, he yelled at me and told me that I accused his employees of touching fuses, I told him he does not know if they did because he was not there. He told me you cannot always believe what they tell you! The manager of Gerber called BMW and asked the service advisor what was going on, they told them exactly what they told me and the manager told the BMW service advisor how do we know that she did not pull out the fuse? The service advisor told him the car had been in for repair a couple times in the last 3 weeks and everything was fine with the car. Gerber said that they don't know if it was working before I brought it in. I was very mad at this point because they will not own up to the fact that it happened while they were trying to clear the airbag code and trying to put blame on everyone else but themselves. Maybe an overzealous employee thought he knew what he was doing and didn't. I told him first off why would I put myself thru this aggravation when my car is under warranty and I could just bring it in to be fixed! The manager sent BMW service advisor an email the said either Gerber or my insurance company will pay, but after that letter was sent they were saying " We don't know if it was working before!) After talking to my insurance company telling them what happened they said they would send an estimator to the dealer to see if this was part of the claim. The advisor told them about car being there couple weeks prior and everything was fine with car and at this point the tear was in the bumper. My insurance company at first did not want to pay. After talking to my insurance company telling them that they sent me to Gerber which was their authorized collision center and they should pay and go after Gerber for the extra $2500 in damage they caused, they thankfully decided to do the right thing a pay for the damaged caused by Gerber. I can say that my insurance company is reputable!!!! read more

I took my truck in to have body damage repair done in August 2016. The body work looked good at first but after picking up my truck and driving only a few mile, an indicator came on the dash indicating that the turn signal was out, which it was not. I took my truck into the dealer and they said that Gerber did a VERY poor job with the electrical wiring. Now I have to go through the process with my insurance to have this done right. It is a major inconvenience. Gerber had my truck for over a week. I am having it done right through the dealer and will never recommend Gerber Collision. There are too many other options where you can trust the work. read more

My car had a little damage, so I called Geico to get an appointment for an inspection. I had to wait for two weeks, but I showed up for my 2:00 appt today. They were running 40 minutes behind. The polite receptionist, Missy, told me, since I have three kids with me, that I could run errands, and she'd call me to return when the inspector was almost ready. I did, and she called. When I returned, within 5 minutes of her call, I was told it would be a little bit. I waited in my car with my sleeping little ones. When I went back in 20 minutes later to ask how long it was going to take, no one was working inside. After waiting a couple of minutes, I went into the garage area looking for someone to help me. I found a woman, who was previously at a desk inside. She told me I would have to wait until 4:00. As she's telling me, Missy comes back from her break and tells her I am next. It's now 3:00, so I wait another 15 minutes reading the multiple, horrible Yelp reviews when I see the inspector come out with another customer. I walk inside and wait to speak to the receptionist, who tells me he did take that customer ahead of me even though my appointment was first. I go back to my car to leave, and Missy comes to my car to tell me she's sorry. I decide to say something to the inspector, and he told me I went to the back of the line when I left. I told him Missy told me to, and he said she doesn't work for Geico. He told me I could wait until 4:00, and he would look at my car. I told him there's no way I would now because I had time to read all the Yelp reviews while I waited, and I should have done that in the first place. I don't know about the quality of work because I never even got that far...praise the Lord! read more

I went to Gerber Collision today on Sunshine Ave in Altamonte Springs. I had a problem with my vehicle weather stripping. It was pulled away from the door and the plastic piece that held it in place had been pulled off. As a commercial driver my vehicle has to be in good condition. I met a very nice man from Gerber who came outside to take a look. He fixed it without any reservations. To be honest when I drove into Gerber I was under the impression I would be told I would have to take it to the dealership. Lucky me I found an individual who took customer service seriously and without any hesitation just corrected my problem. Kudos to this company for an excellent experience. Our car broken into and a window broken out. We had no idea how to properly cover a window with bags and I didn't have the right supplies when I Googled it. So I found Gerber Collision right around the corner and just drove in. They were so kind. They vacuumed out the remaining glass and covered the window with this clear super sticky rap and did it all for free. They were so nice and went out of their way to help us! read more

It's been probably around 2 years since I've come here needing my bumper fixed after an accident. Already it was a bad experience and I didn't think to write a review about it until something recently I found out about their work on my car. First of all, the first time I came here to get my bumper repainted and such, it went smoothly. After bringing my car home and plasti-dipping my emblems the paint came off with the plasti-dip. I had warranty so I came back to tell them to redo the paint and they said since it was my fault the paint came off, they wouldn't do it under warranty. THE PAINT SHOULDNT HAVE COME OFF ANYWAY! I've plasti-dipped my emblems before with no problems of the original car paint coming off with it. After bringing a professional to come with me to tell them that it's their fault, they finally did it. But they weren't definitely happy about it. Worst customer service ever. They were clearly aggravated with us. I work in the service industry and I know well enough that you have to at least pretend to be happy to help the guest/customers. Anyway, this was in all the past. But about two weeks ago, I've taken off my side markers on my car and realized that they broke one of my clips and used some type of adhesive to keep it together! With the deductible from my insurance I still paid about $300 for my bumper to be fixed just to find out they used GLUE for a part of my bumper. They didn't even tell me that they broke the clip. Ridiculous! NEVER GO HERE! I hope this place shuts down. If I could I would give this place -5 stars. 0 would even be too high for it. read more

Back in December I got rear ended and through the guys insurance they recommended that I go to Gerber collision and glass to get my car repaired. The staff there were very attentive and helpful in answering all of my questions and seemed to generally want to make me happy when it came to fixing my vehicle. There was more work to be done on my car than what was expected so they had to keep the car an extra week longer waiting on a part to come in. They had to completely replace the whole trunk door. When I went to go pick it up everything seemed to be in order. However last weekend as I was opening up my trunk the inside panel to the trunk door fell off and landed on my foot. It was missing several of the plastic hooks that held it in place. I called Gerber to let them know what happened and to see if they would repair it. Brad spoke with me and he said anytime this week would be good and he may have to charge me. Say what? Charge me for a something they were supposed to fix! I brought it in this afternoon and spoke to the head manager Dan and he apologized and said that he would replace everything for free. He said that they had to order the parts and would call me next week sometime. I am happy that I spoke to Dan otherwise I would have been charged. read more

The receptionist was professional and nice, so they have a good business front but don't be fooled...this place was sloppy. Huge nightmare! Unfortunately, this shop who my insurance company recommended to complete my repairs (front end collision) was filled with employees who made my experience nothing short of a nightmare. When I went to pick up my vehicle the first time, the paint was all smudged in areas, the hood wasn't aligned, the parts put on were cheap and malfunctioning. When I went back the second time, there were other discovered oversights like a cheap headlamp fogging and the hood still not aligned, rough edges around the fenders...when I called I was told that Brad would call me back on his lunch break. He was busy. The third time I was told my vehicle was ready, I was asked to wait in the lobby while they tried to find my keys...which were located in another vehicle about an hour later. I then left with an additional problem when I finally called my insurance company and said I wouldn't be going back! I still left being asked to come back yet another time because my vehicle wasn't right still! They said they would offer me a free detail in 30 days because of my trouble. Shouldn't they have detailed it before I left? There was wax that was never buffed on it. I saw their detailed estimate and even though they told me they were using original parts, they had used many refurbished parts on my vehicle. They also left my spare tire unscrewed. There wasnt any damage to the rear! What were they doing unscrewing my spare tire in the rear of my vehicle? I was livid that I ever walked into this place. Don't use these people! Unless you have lots of time to babysit their every move and want to have a horrible experience. read more

I went to Gerber in November of 2015 to have the power slider window replaced on my 2004 Lariat Super crew truck. It had been vandalized by someone shooting it out with a pellet gun while sitting in my driveway. My insurance co. Sent me to Gerber. The original window was in excellent condition as was the entire vehicle prior to the incident. The new replacement unit lasted about 5 months before the rubber gasket separated from the frame and came out. I returned to Gerber and was told that it was only warranted for 90 days and there was nothing they could do for me. I couldn't understand how the original gasket lasted 11 years and was still in great shape, and the new one didn't last 6 months and was of poor quality. Gerber could have fixed the issue in 15 minutes with some adhesive or something but chose not to. Now it leaks as well. I suggest finding someone else to address any automotive glass issues. read more
