Safelite recently came to my apartment to fix my windshield that had cracked the week before. Originally, I took my car to the Altamonte Springs Safelite location to check if it was possible to just patch up the crack. After reviewing, the Safelite team informed me that I would need a total windshield replacement. They informed me without insurance, it would cost me over $500 to replace. Luckily, my insurance was able to cover this cost, and Safelite was able to come to my apartment the following week for the repair. Mikah was very quick and communicative and answered any questions I had. If I ever have any windshield issues in the future, I will be using Safelite again! read more

More like Safelite Despair Safelite Disgrace! I had the glass replaced on my 2015 Cadillac Escalade and my front facing camera was not working after the install was completed. I spoke with Carlos the manager and he said it wasn't a Safelite issue. I asked to speak with the regional manager and was told by Progressives warranty dept. he would reach out to me by EOD on 1/13/25 I haven't received any communication as of 7:00am 1/21/25. Came here to get my windshield fixed this morning. Went online and made an appointment, when I arrived I asked how could I use my insurance as I was not able to get it working online. The lady said there is nothing she can do, I need to reschedule because it's a cash deal that was made. I can't believe I drove 30 minutes to be told that, they should fix their website when putting in insurance information. The lady Maria was not very helpful either, kind of a I don't care attitude. They did not honor warranty. First experience with them, their repair to first windshield chip did not hold and had to pay to replace a new windshield. Second windshield cracked in the heat right down the center, waited two and a half months to get glass in, and then they find an imperfection along the crack two and a half months after it started cracking, and call it an impact, so no warranty. Very dishonest, in my opinion. Curious if others have had similar experiences? Wondering if it is a more widespread problem. Feel free to reply if you had similar experiences. read more

Overall pretty good experience. I had a crack in my windshield, and then it was discovered that I had a broken windshield due to my mirror being leaned on by my auto detailer. They were able to schedule an appointment about 4 days later, and the technician came to my house and three hours earlier than scheduled. Within an hour I had a new window-- but unfortunately an area near my window was cracked and they indicated that they would replace that, too. They also have six "Mobile Glass Shop" trucks in the parking lot, so they can go to their customers as advertised. This business offers the option to get it replaced in their Altamonte location or they can go to you for an additional charge. I chose to have them come to me to avoid driving with a cracked windshield more than needed and I'm glad I did. Richard called me when he arrived and I unlocked the car for him while he worked in the driveway. It took about an hour to get it replaced and he called me when he was done to go outside and pay. With the current COVID-19 pandemic going on I truly appreciate essential business like this still being open. Had to go there as insurance and Safelite have an arrangement. 7 visits and they could not get my windshield installed correctly. Air noise from one corner. Finally after 3 months and 7 visits insurance agreed to refund my money and let me go to my facility of choice. Went to Honda the windshield was done correct first time. Amazing when someone knows what they are doing does the job. Ruben Feliciano District manager was made aware of the situation by corporate email. Not one response. Maria a worker was the only bright shining star as she tried help. Unfortunately her installation department lacks knowledge and expertise how to install a windshield. No apologies for wasting over 21 hours of my time between 7 visits not including over 200 miles back and forth gas and tolls. Unprofessional unresponsive and could not care less. read more

Terrible business. I has appointment to get windshield replaced at 10:30 am. Got there 10:15 am and sat until 11:30 am and the car never got into the service bay. I asked for my keys back to leave. The front desk girl defended their service stating that it takes 3 hours to replace windshield. I told her of course it does because it takes hour and a half to get into the service bay and hour and a half to replace the windshield. My wife's vehicle has a chip in the windshield. I scheduled an appointment online for onsite service during the morning appointment window. I specifically chose this time because I knew the vehicle would be used in the afternoon. The technician never showed up, despite the appointment being confirmed. He evidently rescheduled the appointment arbitrarily to the afternoon. I called to discuss, but the rep put me on hold indefinitely and eventually hung up. When I tried to call back, I got a fast busy on the line. So, I called into another number, which transferred me to a queue where I was told to call back during business hours (this was at noon on a Monday - but no explanation of when "business hours" might be). Some very bad golfer sent a ball crashing into my windshield.... I was less than enthused when I found it shattered especially because those wannabe golfers never leave notes and instead just run off like they don't know who done it.... This happened on a Saturday and thankfully I was able to get in the next day. Booking was extremely easy on their website and because they are contracted with my insurance, I just had to enter all my car & insurance info and it was all taken care of. This made it extremely easy for me as I didn't have to worry about any paperwork. I did have to drop off my car for the entire day and they actually didn't start working on it until 3:30. I was def worried it wouldn't be done on time so I had to call and check and they told me I would get text updates when they started and finished work, which is how I knew it only took them an hour to actually replace the windshield. It's unfortunate the car had to stay there all day, it's also unfortunate that they called me right at closing to tell me the car was ready for pickup since you're not supposed to drive the car for a whole hour after installation according to their website but what we did is basically pick up my keys, go out to dinner and then come back to pick up the car later on so it had time to cure and really stick. Overall, not a terrible experience and my tech Francisco did do a really good job so I would definitely recommend this place. I am thankful I did not have an experience like the others noted on here and even the inconvenience of not having my car the whole day was short lived and really of no consequence. read more

My windshield looks great but the technician broke my dashboard. The customer service rep didn't seem too concerned about getting someone to me in a hurry when I called. She said I could bring it by the shop (the point of them having a mobile team is because that's not convenient) or they could schedule me in for another Four hour window in two days. This was my third appointment. The first the tech canceled during the window they were supposed to come. Got a bad piece of third party glass at my first appointment, brought it back to get a warranty replacement and the technician, Jacob, was very understanding and helpful. He explained everything and helped me make my decision to wait and get approval for OEM glass from my insurance. Maria was very helpful getting me set up for my appointment and was incredibly kind at the front desk. For my final appointment, the technician, Jose, did an amazing job, the glass looks amazing, and he even cleaned up my dashboard and left a cold bottle of water for me. Had my windshield replaced while I was at work. The tech didn't do a walk-around for damage (as stated he would do) prior to installation, which isn't a huge deal for me. But, if it's stated that this is a step that should be completed, then it should've been completed. After inspecting my new windshield, I noticed that it had been installed off-center, creating a huge gap on one side & a small gap on the other. In addition, the rubber around the glass was not installed well. I made another appointment to get it fixed. Two days later a technician came out and would not correct any of these things. This is what I was told to do by customer service, by the way. So I called again and spoke with someone about my concerns. She said that she couldn't make an appointment for it since a ticket already come out, so I needed to go in person to a physical location so that they could look at it there. When I started this process, I thought I would get my car back in the same shape it was in prior to the installation. However, this is certainly not the case with this company. What started out as a convenient way to get my windshield replaced ended up in a huge hassle. I will definitely visit a local location to see if THEY are willing to fix it, but I would never recommend Safelite to anyone. Ever. read more

Safelite insisted on emailing me to provide them a review, so here you go! They no-called/no-showed essentially twice, cancelled an appointment, and then showed up late for the last appointment. First time: no call/no-show on Saturday. Second time: The following Monday, Safelite called me in the morning, telling me I had an appointment that day and that a tech would be coming to my house. I informed them that my appointment was actually the previous Saturday, and they had no called/no-showed. They apologized and told me a tech was coming today. Nope. Another no call/no-show. Third time: That day, I call Safelite to let them know that once again, they haven't shown up for their appointment or communicated whatsoever. The guy at Safelite tells me there was never an appointment on the books for Monday and schedules an appointment on Wednesday. Wednesday rolls around, and they call me informing me that the tech dropped a windshield on his toe and they'd have to reschedule. If that really happened, okay, not much they can do there, but I don't really trust their word at this point. Another appointment is scheduled for Friday. Fourth time: Guy calls me near the end of the 8:00 to 12:00 appointment window letting me know that he's not going to make it. He says he'll come around 1:00 instead. Thankfully, he actually came. This absolutely would have been the last time I called if he didn't show. The crack was small, and he did try to ask if he could repair the windshield instead of replacing it, but I let him know that under FL law, insurance companies must cover replacement of all cracked windshields with zero deductibles applied. I wanted a full replacement, especially after the hassle with Safelite. He said okay and replaced it within a couple hours. It seems like he did a good job (as far as I can tell at this point) so I'll give one point to them for that. They did their job. It is extremely unprofessional to no call/no-show. I can tell you that at the very least, I'd face disciplinary action if not outright firing if I did this at my workplace. I'd absolutely never recommend Safelite to my friends and family, and I'll be telling them why. read more

They replaced my windshield only because that's where my ins company sent me. They put a huge rip in the leather covering on my passenger side door and broke the clip to the plastic casing that holds my rear view mirror. Extremely poor customer service. It was easy to make the appointment, but when the technician came out he was clearly uninterested in doing any work, so he made up an excuse after barely looking at the vehicle why he could not do the work, and he cancelled my appointment on the spot. It is nearly impossible to get someone from Safelite on the phone. I attempted to use the chat service and was told to call a # that when I call it simply tells you to check online and hangs up on you. When I finally reached someone after 2 and a half hours of trying, the agent couldn't help me at all....all they could say is that they didn't know when someone could do the work. I had very limited time where I could make myself and the car available for the technician and this company seems mostly unapologetic regarding poor customer treatment and wasting my time as a customer. Lawn mower broke my side window in my new ram 1500. Set an appointment with safelite. Came home to check out the repair to notice my door panel had a slice a crossed it, the door jamb paint is scratched to the metal and the retaining clips are broken door panel now flops around. Called setup a warranty repair for the issue. The manager called to tell me they would repair damages 6 weeks ago and now no response on text or emails. Would not recommend using safelite read more

Really poor service, they make you wait two hours before starting the work on the car. I had four windows broken out last year and went through insurance, it took multiple trips to the store and multiple on-site visits to properly fix everything. Now a year later I'm having a problem with one of the windows they fixed, and they are charging me another 600 dollars I have to pay out of pocket because they didn't fix it the first time, when I had my insurance claim open. Take your car to a body shop instead of coming here for window damage. read more

It's easy to schedule online. The window of arrival is great for scheduling while you're at work. Josh was amazing. He called in advance which gave me the opportunity to explain where my car was and what would be best for him to repair the front windshield. He explained what he was going to do when he got there and gave me an accurate window of time, explained the repairs (I don't care about car things so it was good to know Josh knew what he was doing) and he made sure I understood when it would be safe to drive (which was 5 hours before I got off work so it was fine). Let me start out this rating with assurance that the people involved acted in good faith BUT that Safelite & USAA screwed the pooch on my vehicle. If you own a Honda Civic (and likely other Honda models) with Honda Sensing, DO NOT GET YOUR WINDSHIELD REPLACED BY SAFELITE. Go straight to Honda. Safelite CANNOT reset the system and Safelite knows this but they and USAA both deliberately and knowingly led me to believe they could. They tried and now my Honda Sensing system is incapacitated and another three hours of my life will be wasted while Honda remediates the Safelite screwup. So...if you have a windshield on a Honda with Honda Sensing; beware. Don't chance it. Go to the dealer and get it done right. Safelite is a good organization, but they're not perfect. When my car is back to normal, I'll revise my review. But ONLY after my car is back to normal and my open claim is complete. UPDATE: As I feared, I had to shell out $550 out of pocket and wait for my insurance company to reimburse my expenses. And wait 3 hours. This is wholly unacceptable in terms of aggravation, but the repairs are complete. Thankfully. My warning to Honda owners with the Honda Sensing package remains. Go to Honda. I highly recommend making an appointment in advance if possible. The website makes it easy to schedule at any location. Service was quick to get started and quick to complete for out chip. Inside you are offered comfortable seating, snacks and drinks. The are comfortable seats to read in or watch TV while you wait. Servicemen were kind, helpful and provided full warranty information upfront. Concerns and process were also provided in full detail upfront. I realized I was going to be late so I called at 8:30am to let them know I will be 30 minutes late. I show up to my appointment at 9:28am and I speak with Maria. I let the Maria know my appointment is at 9am. She then tells me its 30 minutes past my appointment and they cannot take my car. She said once it's 15 minutes late the appointment is canceled like a doctor's office. I then let her know I spoke with someone from the call center and they said it was ok. Then Maria told me we will squeeze you in but the person on the phone was incorrect. Maria had an attitude and was extremely rude about the situation. I tried to explain to her as a customer how was I supposed to know about the 15 minute late policy if the person I spoke to on the phone did not know. She then tells me the girl from the call center did call and she did not even give her my name. Again, I am not understanding how this is my fault when I gave the person my name and information and she was able to pull up my appointment. My concern is Maria needs more training in customer service and if she speaks to customers this way, I am sure she is disrespecting employees. Safelite auto glass repair and replacement was recommended by my insurance company and many of my friends. I was surprised that the mobile service had a two week waiting period! I waited on a Saturday, for the mobile service man to come. They gave me a window of 12 to 5. On that day, he called me and told me it would be between one and three. He showed up on time, and did the work quickly and with a smile. He said I should park it in the garage and not use it for at least 20 min. I didn't end up using it until Monday, two days later. On Tuesday night, while driving home from work, I saw a small hairline crack rising up from the bottom middle portion of the windshield. You can imagine my dismay! I just had this windshield replaced not even a week prior, and I hadn't really used my car. This is clearly workmanship defect and not damage caused from driving. I found my Safelite email, and called their phone number the following morning. It forwarded me to a message service where I left a message including my name and phone number twice. Their automated system says they will return your call in 24 hours. They did not return my call in 24 hours. I called again, and got through to someone this time. She was very apologetic and was able to schedule my next appointment two weeks from now! I don't understand why they do not expedite services for their mistakes! Clearly, I am no longer willing to devote an entire Saturday waiting for their technician to come. This means, I may or may not be at the location I specified two weeks from today. I am a contractor, so I don't know where I'll be working two weeks from today! This makes their mobile service very difficult to book for contractors. There better not be a fee for a missed appointment due to an incorrect address from the booking day. They did not mention any on the phone, and I better not be pleasantly surprised by one. Unfortunately, Safelite contracts through my insurance company. Which means I will go through hoops if I need to use a different company in the future. I imagine it's the same for many people out there. And that is probably why they get only three stars on yelp. Buyer beware. They do have a lifetime warranty on all their products as long as you own the vehicle. But sometimes convenience is more than money. I have been extremely frustrated by this process. I do not wish the same upon you! Their automated phone system says you can schedule or reschedule your warranty appointment online. I challenge you to try to do this!I hung up the call and tried to do this online. I had to bring my car to the shop for windshield replacement because they had to calibrate the car sensors after the replacement. Surprisingly, the shop waiting area is very clean and COVID prove, with also self-served coffee, water, and snacks. The scheduling is a bit difficult; however understandable since they don't have every size for every car in stock. They did go for extra miles to order mine since my car is brand new model. Had chips in my front windshield from dump trucks on highway. Called my insurance, they suggested safelite. They arrived on time at my house two days later and the tech suggested a knew windshield. He said he could fix it but was not positive it would be clear because the chip was so deep. He suggested to just get it replaced and made me an appointment right then for the next day. Went to the shop in altamonte and Robert and manny had me in and out in about an hour. Very happy with the service provided and would use them again. read more
