Was in the neighborhood, looking up some taco spot. It was fantastic! Flavor is great, to-go were busy at 7:30pm, for a soda and a great taco meal for $22. I was in the area and was craving Thai food. I found this place instead. A small 4 table Mexican restaurant. I think the kitchen area was bigger than the dining area. I was able to order quickly. I ordered the chicken enchilada plate. It took a little under 10 minutes to come out. The enchiladas were huge. The chicken was diced, not shedded. I liked the texture. The sauce was not too spicy. It came with a small portion of Mexican rice and refried beans. Both were good. I wish there was more. There was also guacamole, sour cream and pico de gallo on the plate. In the front of the restaurant there was also a condiment bar with red and green sauce, jalapeños and other sides. I would definitely come back when I'm in the area. All the workers were friendly. I think we came here on the 4th of July. The place we originally chose was closed due to the holiday so we came here. We were the only ones there and the woman at the register was ready for our order. I got their rolled tacos bc I always order rolled tacos and my husband got chile rellenos. He didn't care for his but my rolled tacos were crunchy and i thought they were fine. I'd prob order them again. They could use more guac and other toppings tho. Not much seating, but the place was clean. It shares a parking lot with the gas station and gets pretty busy during the day bc of the Italian restaurant a couple doors down. It does take a while for your food to come out bc they made everything fresh. I also got their caramel churro- it wasn't that good, prob bc it was overcooked. read more

I'm from San Diego, so my expectations are pretty low when it comes to Mexican Food elsewhere. My husband found this place on Yelp and it had decent reviews, so we decided to check it out. First thing I noticed was the employees were very nice. Waaaay nicer than I'm used to in So Cal. The gentleman preparing our food approached us warmly and helped with any clarifying questions we had. The young lady taking our order was sweet and patient. We ordered 2 burritos and 4 tacos. Each were very good. Much better than I expected, but I wish there had been a little more meat in the tacos. The salsa was delicious, and I can't say the same for many places I go to in San Diego. They did mess up and charge us incorrectly. Dropping a star because they couldn't fix the issue. We were also charged for using a credit card so keep that in mind. All in all a good place to go if you're picky about your Mexican food! read more

This was my first time trying out this place recommended by my boyfriend who's a big fan of this location! I have to say this spot didn't disappoint whatsoever! I tried the carne asada breakfast burrito with sour cream and 2 el pastor tacos it was absolutely delicious and seasoned perfectly! The service they provided to my boyfriend was amazing and the food was ready pretty quick. The ambiance is bright colors and small where there's a few tables to be able to sit down. It's tucked in a small plaza and it always seems to stay very busy! They have a variety of deals throughout the week as well. If you're in the northwest location then this is the place you need to check out and to enjoy their delicious food. Gerardo's Tacos - Chimichanga combo, and Menudo - Mexican Near Me - Las Vegas, Nevada

My initial impression of Gerardo's was that it was like a local knockoff of Roberto's - menu is fairly similar with numbered combos, breakfast burritos, and rolled tacos. Location is not well lit or particularly clean and service varies based on who is working. So it's fair to say my expectations were fairly low. But reviews here raved about them, and it is close to home- my first visit for a combo (#5, burrito and enchilada) was a mixed bag. The cheese enchiladas with red chili sauce were some of the closest I've found to the Tex Mex style I prefer. The burrito left something to be desired (upcharge for anything but basic protein choices, minimal protein included, dry). I also do not really like their salsa but did really like their refried beans. Like I said, very mixed impressions. But a return visit for their Mar y Tierra (surf and turf) burrito, with shrimp and asada, really impressed me - portion size was huge, proteins were cooked up in a red sauce, burrito included rice and plenty of cheese. It was greasy but damn delicious. I'll keep circling back to figure out what else is good on the menu. Eventually I'll try their Taco Tuesday special - crispy tacos with beef or chicken for 99 cents each, compared to the usual $2.99. On that note, pricing is kind of all over the place - combos are typically under $10, and my massive burrito was around that price (but it seemed fair for the portion and protein), but other items seem steep. The California burrito at Gerardo's is unbelievably good. In the past two weeks, I have ordered it 3 times. The fries inside the burrito are cooked to perfection and the tortilla they use is absolutely delicious. They have a variety of sauces to choose from at the salsa bar. Although this place is tucked away in a small plaza, it seems to stay busy. I always order my burrito to go but they do have a small seating area inside. Wow! My boyfriend and I were looking for a early meal, around 8:00 A.M. We were originally going to a different restaurant, but they weren't open. We looked up for other restaurants in the area open at 8:00 A.M on a Saturday morning on Yelp and Gerardo's Tacos popped up on the search. Gerardo's Tacos is located in a small shopping plaza, next to a few other local businesses such as Amano's. You can get to Gerardo's Tacos by taking the 95/Ann, and take one local street off of the exit. There is decent amount of parking available in the small shopping plaza. We walked into Gerardo's Tacos, and surprisingly, it was packed for a 8:00 A.M Saturday morning. There is a variety of [2] to [4] person table seating inside the restaurant. The kitchen is a open kitchen. The menu consists of a variety of different options such as Fajitas, Menudo, Burritos, Quesadillas, Taquitos and much more. They have separate combo meals which includes a main entrée, with a few sides for a pretty good price. After reviewing the menu, my boyfriend and I ended up ordering the following [1] Menudo [1] 3 Taquitos Chicken with Sour Cream instead of Guacamole and cheese [1] Chips and Salsa [Pico De Gallo] [1] Fountain Drink The price came out to be approximately $17.00 for the entire order! It was pretty cheap for the amount of food we received and the quality of food. We ended up waiting about 10 minutes for the order. The chips/salsa and taquitos were ready first. The chips/salsa portion was huge! The chips seemed to be prepped fresh there. It was crispy and crunchy! There wasn't too much salt on the chips. The chips/salsa is something you would order for 4 people, the portion size was relatively large! The Taquitos were really good, some of the best that I've had! There was plenty of chicken within the Taquitos. The batter was fried perfectly on the Taquitos. The sour cream and cheddar was a good addition. My boyfriend really enjoyed his Menudo. The Menudo was large, enough for [2] meals! Gerardo's also provided additional sides, such as crispy tostada shell, cabbage, and onions. I used to come to this place until today!!! The food is decent for a taco place, but today I noticed a rise on price which I understand, most places have done the same. But the amount of meat they put on the tacos was by half of what it was before. I felt so ripped off. I'm ok to pay more, but you just can't go this cheap. My family and I are not coming back.
