Sourdough pizza with pesto and mortadella

Hands down the best pizza I've ever tried and I've had a LOT of pizza. The sourdough is sour, chewy, and crunchy. The toppings were deliciously savory while not being overly salty. The owner and staff are great and friendly. Talked with the owner about the history of the restaurant, their local sourcing of ingredients, and their philanthropy. Both inside and out are super cute, comfortable, and homey. This is my top Sedona restaurant! Will be back for many more visits.

This place has ruined me in the best way possible!! I will be dreaming of the delicious food here and am beyond excited for the next time I get to eat here. I am salivating as I type. We started with their Italian Salad, ordered the Ortolana Pizza and their Bolognese Special. When I bit into their Bolognese Pasta, I got schooled as to what Bolognese really tastes like. For the Ortolana Pizza, we added the honey chillin sauce to it and also requested for it to be made with their sourdough. Highly recommend both add one. Honestly the best pizza & pasta I've ever had. Since the dinner was beyond, we decided to get their tirimisu dessert, we were surprised at how large the serving was, absolute delicious, not too sweet. Just perfect. Presentation was phenomenal. Staff was so friendly & you could tell the chefs take such pride in their work!! Every seat is a great seat at this restaurant. We sat at the bar & it felt like we were able to really feel the soul of the restaurant right in front of the pizza oven!! Great place. Chef's kiss!! Xoxo

Let's say I know pizza. I'm not saying I'm a pizza snob or I get saucey over bad pizza but I come from a place where a-pizza is our pride and joy. Geraldo's is a must try if you are in Sedona! They take pride in their ingredients all the down to the soil that grows the wheat for the flour. House-made mozzarella, sausage dough, lemoncello etc.. This father and son duo pour their heart and soul into tasty creations while feeding off of each other's expertise. I truly enjoy coming in to see what they have to offer. They make you feel like family

Ortelana (veggie) pizza on sourdough crust

This is a cozy local neighborhood hidden gem with incredible pizzas. Sitting at the bar, you can watch the chef making the pizzas in the Italian wood fired pizza oven. We had the Ortelana (veggie) pizza on their homemade sourdough. And just the right cheese to red sauce ratio. It was all so delicious!! The 72-hour sourdough is both light and fluffy/air filled, while also so crispy and tasty. One of the best pizzas I've had in a while. Highly recommend!

WOW! This was fantastic and exceeded our expectations. We were looking a pizza place with outdoor dining for dinner so we could bring our dog. Our dog sometimes is reactive to other dogs so we wanted a spot where the tables were pretty spread out. When we arrived, we were promptly seated and the outdoor patio was actually way nicer than we expected. All the heaters were on and it was actually very cozy with the string lights as well. There was a line for inside seating and were surprised not more people opted to sit outside. Our server was great and shared the daily specials with us. We tried the wine and both the Riesling and Moscato were lovely. We shared the Carnivore pizza (12 inches), rigatoni bolognese (special of the day), and a bruschetta (special of the day). The bruschetta was super tasty with prosciutto and arugula. 3 good size pieces as well. The pizza was unsurprisingly fantastic - great char from the wood fire and tasty toppings and crust. The standout was the pasta though. The homemade rigatoni had a nice chew and absorbed the sauce very nicely. For dessert, we shared the creme brulee and it was tasty as well. The moon shaped cookie was cute but very hard to break apart. The table next to us got the brioche bread with strawberries and cream (special of the day) and it looked REALLY good. Kinda wish we ordered that instead, haha! Amazing food, great service, and cute relaxing ambiance. Best meal during our visit to Sedona!

Great wood fired pizza, locally owned, and fresh ingredient sourced! Our waitress Maria provided excellent service and our pizzas were delicious. You can customize the type of pizza dough you would like such as traditional, sourdough, or black ink dough. We also got the cannoli trio and pistachio tiramisu desserts to take home. They tasted awesome, however the tiramisu did melt a bit, so you may want to get that option for dine-in only. The ambiance for the indoor seating was nice and none of the tables were too close together. Additionally, they have outdoor patio seating that is dog friendly. For parking, there is an attached parking lot. If you are in Sedona, this is a good casual restaurant to check out!

Half moon artisan pizza with basil

This small Italian spot was recommended to me, so my wife and I made a trip to Sedona to try it. The pizza was excellent and made fresh entirely in house with fermented sourdough. The pizza was light, not heavy (although a little soggy with the crust) and did not leave me bloated. We also tried the bolognese pasta which was fresh and flavorful also, however the pasta was a little undercooked. This is something to be aware of if you arrive at or near open. Service was great and the restaurant was friendly and inviting, although a bit generic. Overall this is a great stop for Italian if in Sedona.

We were seated immediately as walk ups, I like that this place is further away from the crowded downtown area. Decor is simple and server was friendly. The food was unbelievable. The bolognese was the best I've ever had in my life! Pizza was solid and I'm glad I added the hot honey. Salad dressing was wonderful. Tiramisu was huge.

Pesto pizza and quattro stagioni pizza! And GET the Caesar salad... their homemade dressing is unreal

Best pizza I've ever had and I've been all throughout Italy! Cherry on top is that it's a family owned business and they're all very hands-on with the day-to-day operations and in the kitchen. Fresh ingredients and quality/flavor of the dough made the pizzas we got so delicious. Caesar salad was one of the best flavors I've had as well with their tangy homemade dressing. I'll be coming back here every time I visit Sedona.

Easily my best meal in the Sedona area. Highly, highly recommend making a meal stop here. Visiting from Chicago (and very Italian) I had high expectations and they were surpassed. The ingredients are fresh and high quality. I've visited many Neapolitan places in Italy and in Chicago and this is easily top 5 in the mix. Service was kind and attentive, they have some unique ovens explained as part of your dining experience. We started with the calamari which was good - lightly breaded like in Italy. We went straight for the pizzas which were excellent. I enjoyed that they had classics on their menu - like Salssicia and capprriciosa that we greatly enjoyed. Excellent. Highly recommend. Grazie mille per l'eccellente esperienza culinaria e il cibo meraviglioso! Alla prossima!

Hubby and I came here while visiting Sedona in October. We were seated rally quickly, and our server came over shortly after and made suggestions. I tried the Carnivora uncut. The bread made the pizza even more delicious than it already was! Sooo good! We also ordered the tiramisu, which was pretty good too. 5 stars!!

I came here with a group of girls after a long hike in Sedona and let me just say -- I will think about this place forever. It was so good! We sat outside on the patio and the weather was so beautiful in the evening. Our waitress was so kind while she explained the specials and waited for us to think. We got four pizzas. The best one was the mortadella and pesto!!! I want that everyday of my life!! My least favorite was the spicy burrata. Margarita was just like any other. The prosciutto and fig was not what I wanted. It was fine. The crème brûlée was super delicious and the tiramisu could be skipped. Wish I tried the cannoli.

Highly recommend the squid ink dough! Very unique and delicious. We've never seen squid ink being used in pizza before. This place is so far our favorite in Sedona. Good service and tasty food, will def come back!

Ask the Community - Gerardo's Pizzeria

Are reservations recommended?

Yes!

Are you a BYOB (if do, what is corking fee?)?

It's not a BYOB. They have a bar area. Enjoy

Do they offer flute free pizza?

Hi Denise We don't have gluten free pizza in our menu.

I know bolognese is typically made with pork, but I see in your description that it is "grass fed". Is your bolognese only made with beef? Would love to have it if so!

It's only beef! Enjoy!

Excuse me, Are dogs allowed here?

On the patio, yes. There is a sign on the gate that says they are allowed, but not in the restaurant, so you would be seated through the gate to the patio.

Can we get gluten free pizzas ? Also we have one in iur party who is vegan - do they options?

No. They do not offer a gluten-free pizza crust, but they do have gluten free pasta.

We'd also like to give a special mention to the coffee, which was excellent as well. The only thing I wish is that they were open for lunch! We'd happily come back during the day if they were. Mine, the second looked like 2 oz. What a joke everyone at out table thought. So I sent it back and manager wanted to know what the problem was. Manager told us that they are weighed out at 6 oz each. I wish I had saved a photo. Brought me a new Halibut, larger and maybe 6 oz. Mine wasn't fishy and was tasty but not flakey like good halibut is that I have had. Of course by the time I receive my new order everyone is almost finished eating. The two Halibuts were $108 + 3.00%. We weren't offered any compensation of any kind for that, but they did charge $1.00 + 3.00% for my olives in my Tanqueray Ten martini. Never been charged for olives before anywhere

We secured our reservations well in advance and arrived punctually. Upon check-in, the staff promptly guided us to our outdoor seating arrangement, which offered a stunning vantage point for watching the sunset while enjoying quality time together. While skimming through the appetizer menu, we struck up a delightful conversation with neighboring diners who enthusiastically recommended the lamb lollipops. Intrigued by their endorsement, we ordered them ourselves and were thoroughly impressed. The lamb lollipops delivered an unforgettable culinary experience--tender, flavorful, and absolutely pristine. For our entrées, I selected the 16oz boneless ribeye accompanied by a loaded baked potato, bacon-wrapped asparagus, and guajillo chimichurri sauce. My lady chose the 8oz Prime Filet Mignon, elegantly topped with herb butter, garlic whipped potatoes, and lemon-zest asparagus. Both dishes were extraordinary! The ribeye proved incredibly tender and juicy with remarkable flavor in every bite, while the filet mignon was equally spectacular. Both proteins were cooked to absolute perfection, melting effortlessly on our palates and leaving us craving more. The accompanying sides were equally impressive. We concluded our meal with a brown butter cake crowned with chopped praline pecans, whipped cream, and maple caramel sauce, served over vanilla bean ice cream. This dessert was so exceptional that we couldn't resist ordering a second one. Neither of us could help ourselves--we simply had to indulge again. Honestly, if we'd had room for another stomach, we would've absolutely gone back for seconds and thirds of everything on the menu. While The Vault Uptown certainly comes with a premium price tag, I can assure you that every single dish I've mentioned is worth every penny. I'd strongly recommend requesting an outdoor table positioned toward the sunset so you can take in the stunning vista of Snoopy Rock. The perspective from that vantage point is truly breathtaking.
