Rhadika and her entire staff were absolutely wonderful. The level of professionalism, warmth, and flexibility that I was met with as I tried to pull the event together was truly remarkable. The room was lovely. The capacity is upwards of 300, I believe. Somehow it feels very personal. It's an intimate space with a Very pretty view of their snow covered property. Darrell who works their A/V was on point. We ran music, had speeches, also a slideshow. They were set up for us to plug in with great ease, and he made the entire process very simple for us. Looked and sounded great. We ordered several platters of food, which was fresh and just as we wanted. Their team of hosts and servers were fantastic and attentive. In early August we were only the 2nd boat on the dock all day and maybe another 6 taking shelter in the bay at anchor. The thing is this information is published no where and even the Information Ctr a couple KM away had to phone them to find out. The Park itself is reasonably priced and seems to employ a good number of the local seasonal student workers. Facilities were all maintained top notch and enjoyed exploring the vessels and buildings. As we walked the grounds for around 4 hours all the staff were in period costumes and extremely knowledgeable of the history and helpful with all questions. I was quite impressed with their genuine interest in the sites historical value and did their best to make sure the visitors enjoyed themselves. So well done staff, thanks!

Today's Lora Bay Golf Club is a Real Estate venture. NOT a golf experience. Great Gulf Homes has purchased the property and it's quite obvious if you're a golfer that they should stick to building homes and not try to operate what used to be a premium golf course. The golf course began a renovation of the bunkers a few years back and it seems they've completed this. Not a good job at all. Poor edges, they've filled in old ones and made new ones. Basically changing the design AND the feel of the golf course. Needlessly, in my opinion. Some old bunkers have been grassed but then sod laid terribly and when they cut it it has now been burnt from the mowers.. too much sand not enough sand... then in their wisdom they reversed the 9's. Changed what was #10 (now 1) from a par 5 to a 4 and what was 11 (now 2) from a par 4 to a 5. Green speeds were about 9. I have to say finishing on what was 9 just doesn't have the same feel as finishing coming into the clubhouse. There are too many critiques to mention. A sign at the now 8th hole so you can order food in advance of the turn (supposedly for pace of play?) what a waste of time .. ordered a HALF SANDWHICH and 2 bottles of water. When I got there it wasn't ready they had to go get it .. had to wait for a foursome of guys who had t even t'd off yet to order their drinks and then I was charged $23.00. SorryGGH.. after all these years you've lost me as a customer. You have no idea how to run a golf club.. either that or you just don't care ! It's such a shame because this track was once a premier club in the Georgian Bay Collingwood area.. for $220.00 green fee GGH should be absolutely ashamed of themselves. This is Blue Mountain's newest winter fun addition, and it is by far the best skating trail, not…read morejust for the spectacular view, but because it is over a kilometre long. It would be hard to find a better outdoor skating venue than this. Perfectly situated at the top of the mountain between Orchard Express and Southern Comfort. You can access the trail by Scenic Caves Road. There are signs that lead you to parking by the skating admission area. Rates are $13 for Youth (12 & under) and $16 for Adult (13 & over) for a 2 hour pass. Skate rentals are available for an additional $6. You have to deposit a credit card if renting. Hours of operation vary according to weather conditions so call or check the website before you go to avoid disappointment. The trail is lit by tiki torches for night skating. I would recommend to go near sunset for some great photos and to be able to have the magical night experience. Whether you go day or evening, be sure to dress warmly as it can get very windy up here and the trees do not give as much shelter as you might expect. I'm so glad to have had the chance to skate here during the final opening of the season in March. I will be back next year!

There were 2 small slides outside which led into the pool- but were covered in ice and snow.... (needs better maintenance) a very small place over all, and it seem that the owners or management had just given up on this place- Broken showers, in the women's change rooms- half of them missing handles and no lighting- 1 pool- does not mean a water park at all! MOULDING in every shower! No proper space to change - dirty throughout and terribly outdated-over priced for a hot tub with no jets!!! Most of the hotels in the area have pools and outdoor tubs- I don't recommend wasting your money this place unless it goes over a major face lift!

My two year old had a great time and of course didn't want to leave, but I think most kids over 8 might get bored rather quickly. Things we did like: all the pools are heated (it was comfortable the day we were there although it was a drizzly, cooler day), and they provide life jackets for kids of various sizes. If you decide to go, I suggest the $14 half day pass. Although the difference with the full day pass is only $3, 6 hours is more than enough. I should note that they have a $5 day pass for non-swimming observers and discounts for those staying at nearby hotels. Overall we thought Plunge! Is a little overpriced for what you get.

This is a great way to spend a couple hours, for anyone interested in not just black history but…read morelocal and settler life in general, or even for those just wanting to take a walk in nature. For a low admission cost, we toured the museum with all of its outbuildings and tons of artifacts. Your journey starts in the main building with decorative items, musical instruments, practical items, and more from Africa. You then move in time into the slave trade, with striking diagrams of maximized boat storage capacity - with human beings as cargo - and artifacts like collars and shackles. Next is the underground railroad, including quilts and descriptions of the different quilt blocks and their symbolism to former slaves on their journey North. The museum is set on a beautiful tract of land, surrounded by trees, with birds and chipmunks scurrying about. As you walk through the wooded trail, you encounter themed buildings to explore. This includes model ships and artifacts from the local shipyards, model trains, military memorabilia, sewing machines and fashion, farm equipment and other tools, sports equipment, dishes and household items, a doll collection, a dollhouse, black-themed postcards of questionable taste, old books ready to read, and really just anything and everything you can think of that black and white settlers in the area and their descendants would have owned. Throughout are highlights of how black Canadians contributed to military, sports, politics, invention, arts, and even just working in the shipyard like many in the local community, back when opportunities were not equal. The museum has some items behind glass but many more the visitor can pick up and experience, including trying on traditional clothes and playing a marimba. I hear they have quilting classes and activities for kids. For those concerned with practical questions, yes there are bathrooms. The location is rural but it is only about a block from Highway 26, making it a great place to stretch your legs on a long trip. They do not (currently) have drinks or snacks that I saw though, so bring your own water bottle. They do have outdoor tables and some chairs to rest along the trail, and swings if the kids are restless. The friendly staff have an infectious passion for their museum and offer a welcoming atmosphere. If you are looking for a swanky museum with fancy displays behind glass, this is not it. If you are looking for something interesting to do in the area for a couple hours, with a chance to touch and experience history, go here. The experience is well worth the modest price of admission.

The areas of the golf course I did see were well kept with garbage cans empty and well maintained. There is ample parking space a beautiful club house. This golf course boasts 27 holes which I had not seen before. We stayed for dinner with this event and it was so amazing to see the hospitality team at work. The clubhouse space is beautiful and would be perfect for any type of function including weddings. Dinner was served to us in stations rather than buffet. Players got to eat at a pig roast station, taco and nacho station, macaroni and cheese station, Antipesto station and finally, dessert. It was a really smart concept as it meant nobody had to wait in line and everyone got to eat what they wanted. Brilliant. Based on my experience, I would like to return to play golf.
