The location is so convenient, with an even closer location coming soon, I can 100% say there is no other spanish immersion program in the Georgetown, Round Rock, Cedar Park, Leander area that comes close. I have toured others but this location is the one that stole my heart. The Saturday Spanish Fun Day is my all time favorite thing to do with my kiddos. You can meet the other parents and really see how much of an impact the environment has on the littles.

We had our daughter attend the downtown campus this summer and first few weeks of fall. I felt that the communication between the teachers and parents was lacking and come to find out the teachers do not speak english. When we toured the school, we were told the teachers would only speak spanish, as it is a spanish immersion program. However, with preschoolers, it is essential they at least are able to understand what the children are saying and be able to attend to their needs (even if it's in spanish). We noticed our daughter was coming home upset and nothing was being said when I would pick her up from school, so I assumed it was nothing serious. Well, one day at pick up she was clearly being bullied by 2 kids, and although the teacher witnessed this behavior, she did nothing to intervene or use this as an educational opportunity to show inclusivity and kindness. We had a meeting with the teacher and director and we came to the conclusion that the language barrier was the cause. The owner was not understanding and blamed us for not bringing it up sooner. How could we, if the teachers are not communicating? With there being so many other great school/daycare options, I would not recommend this one. The value is not there, the curriculum is lacking for the preschool age group, and the way they handle business is unprofessional.

Our child is overly prepared for kindergarten and it's 100% because of the instruction she received at Excelencia. If everyone knew what we did it would be impossible to get admittance into the school. It's not Montessori but through the extremely high quality instruction and deep Spanish immersion it doesn't even matter. The results speak for themselves.

The biggest complaint you'll hear about daycares are turn over rate. Excelencia has one of the lowest I've seen in the industry. This is based on the vast amount of schools I inquired. The teachers here are some of the kindest and most involved teachers I have experienced. The teacher to ratio is small so my child isn't just another face. They know everything about my kids and we have never lost anything here. Even a toy that they dropped in the parking lot was returned to us. Everything listed on their curriculum is followed to the T. They do lots of science experiment here. Other daycares are always art and maybe 1-2 science a year. Excelencia also rotates their toys and supplies every couple weeks so kids are constantly engaged and not bored of playing with the same thing. Also every couple weeks they have a theme and they learn all about it. Like outer space, western cowboys, asia, future careers, automobiles and traffic, safari, and the list goes on. They do a phenomenal job at keeping kids interested in learning and not getting bored. My children, including my friends' children, have all thrived here. I refer people here and never a complaint. The owner is the most beautiful soul you'll meet. She truly cares about the kids and the school. She has created a wonderful environment not just for the kids but for the staff so they enjoy their job and it reflects in the children's care and happiness. This place is a hidden gem. People don't know about it other than word of mouth because they don't spend on marketing. They focus their efforts on the children and the staff. This is how it should be!

I was thrilled when a group of moms in my neighborhood arranged for an instructor to come to us! We never got the chance to find out what the program was about, though . . . The first time our demonstration class was scheduled the instructor forgot. This could happen to the best of us, we figured. So although we were surprised that instead of being apologetic the owner said, "Well, it is a holiday weekend." when we spoke to her (I'm not sure how that makes a difference if you have a class scheduled), we decided to try again the next week. Once again we gathered, excited to see what it was all about. All of us arrived at a neighborhood home right at the scheduled time. All of us that is, except the instuctor. Four minutes after the class was supposed to BEGIN she left a message saying that her car was acting up. She lives in North Austin and was still about 10 minutes away from us and did not want to continue on the highway. Once again, this is something that could happen to anyone. What we didn't understand was why she was calling from so far away AFTER the class was supposed to start. If I were the instructor I would arrive early enough to make sure that I found the house and was the first one there to greet everyone and get started on time! Our group quickly reached a consensus - we won't be counting on Smart Hands Austin to be able to provide us with a demo class in our neighborhood . . . Too bad!!!

Ms. Siugi is such a positive influence of joy who has a wonderful crew of staff to interact with every child with personalized attention at drop-off, and gives parents a recap of their child's progress at pick-up. Her curriculum utilizes games, songs, activities, and crafts/art to keep kids engaged and excited to learn. I appreciate there is homework that we as family can do together and there's always a weekly video recap sent of what the kiddos learned so i get to follow along :) As an American born Chinese now parent who grew up speaking Mandarin but has lost much of it, I am cognizant of want our kiddo to get as much exposure to speaking Mandarin as possible and play based Chinese immersion classes with Ms Siugi is a treat to make it fun for the kids.
