The teachers here are very loving, and they are true role models that you would want your children to be around with. I can see that my child has better manners after she enrolled. The school operates normal hours from 9-2 pm, M-F. with early extended hours at 8:00 am. You may also come in for MWF or TTH. It is unfortunate that they do not have extended hours after 2 pm. The classes are very structured, but they are more focused on the breadth of knowledge than depth. Also be aware that if you enroll M-F, some of the classes may be duplicated for your children as they planned lectures to ensure everyone had a chance to participate. I think it might be a good idea to not enroll M-F and choose MWF or TTH. The only thing that I would ever ask for improvement is the extended hours and no food heating for children's lunch.

On her very first day, she came home with wet underwear. We tried to give the benefit of the doubt and assumed it might have been an adjustment issue since she was new. But on her second day, she came home soiled with both urine and feces, and when we cleaned her up, we discovered that her skin was raw, red, and broken -- front, back, and between her private parts. This was a severe rash, the kind that happens only when a child has been left sitting in wet or dirty clothing for a long period of time. No child develops skin that damaged from a single brief accident or if they had been properly checked and cleaned. We immediately emailed the center director on Friday evening to report this serious issue, but no one ever responded. The center was closed Monday and Tuesday, but on Tuesday morning my husband went in person to speak with the director. She admitted she hadn't even checked her emails yet. He explained everything and asked for a refund, as we could not possibly send our child back after what happened. She said she would speak with corporate and call us back. Later that day, we received a call from a corporate representative in California. She completely dodged the issue and refused to acknowledge what happened. She kept repeating the same line -- that our child was "checked throughout the day." I calmly told her that if our child was checked and cared for properly, there's no way she would come home with her skin raw and damaged like that. Instead of addressing that point, she just kept repeating the same scripted response and acted as if the rash didn't exist. When I asked for escalation, she refused, claiming there was no one above her to speak with. She also said their "policy" required a 30-day withdrawal notice -- meaning we would not get a refund -- completely ignoring that we were withdrawing because of neglect and harm to our child. When I tried again to explain how serious this was, she became defensive and hung up on me. We trusted this center with our child's safety, hygiene, and care. They failed completely. Then, instead of showing concern or accountability, they deflected, denied, and dismissed what happened. Our daughter came home hurt and in pain -- and all we got from corporate was denial and a refusal to even acknowledge reality. If you are a parent considering this daycare, please think carefully. The lack of care, communication, and accountability we experienced is unacceptable. A daycare should be a safe, nurturing place -- not somewhere a child ends up in pain and parents are gaslighted when they speak up.

So much that I already want to have my youngest go next year since the other two will be moving on to kindergarten, and it's such a warm place where the staff are so helpful and friendly. She also meets with the kids each week during chapel, which my kids have really loved. There are so many places to take your children to, and they range so much in quality as well as affordability. Personally, I felt uncomfortable hearing details about another family's situation, especially without hearing both sides. Later, I explained that my son has a disability and that we were approved for TEFA funding. I shared that he is speech delayed and somewhat behind academically. I also explained that he previously attended a private Catholic school that requested a one-on-one aide, although his IEP team did not recommend one. We are transferring him because we cannot afford the cost of a one-on-one aide on top of tuition. I also clarified that while he has a medical condition, he has not been diagnosed with autism or ADHD, and evaluations from neurology, ABA, and neuropsychology specialists did not indicate autism. I explained that the academic expectations at his previous school were simply not the right fit for him, and that we believed a more play-based environment would better support his development and learning style. However, during this discussion, the owner repeatedly emphasized how advanced their standards were and mentioned that many of their 4-year-olds already know how to read. Unfortunately, the tone of the conversation made me feel less reassured about how welcoming or supportive the environment would be for children with developmental differences or disabilities. After I told her the amount, her eyes widened, and she became noticeably quiet while pulling out a calculator and computing the yearly total. That interaction made me uncomfortable and gave the impression that the financial aspect became more important than understanding my child's actual needs. Because of these concerns, I began having second thoughts about enrolling my son and asked for the payment to be placed on hold while my husband scheduled a second tour. Within two days, we were informed that the slot for the next school year had already been filled. What was frustrating was that instead of directly informing us that no spots were available, we were still asked to work around their schedule for another tour. I was also told that I had "cancelled," when I had clearly requested that enrollment simply be put on hold while we made a final decision as a family. Afterward, I also came across other reviews from parents who felt their children with disabilities were treated differently. Reading those experiences made our interaction feel even more concerning. It also made me question how genuine some of the positive reviews are, because our experience was very different from what was portrayed online. I cannot say whether reviews are incentivized, but it did leave me wondering if discounts, perks, or other incentives may influence some of the overwhelmingly positive feedback. I truly hope this daycare reflects on what inclusivity really means. Participating in programs like TEFA should involve genuinely welcoming and supporting children with different needs, not just meeting requirements on paper.

Needless to say, finding a daycare for my two kids (3yo & 5mo) was extremely difficult with feelings of guilt, distrust and insecurity to name a few. Since my kids have been at Stepping Stone, I have grown to not only trust Stepping Stone's faculty and staff... I absolutely adore them! My 3 year old had a really hard time transitioning, but the staff's patience, understanding and empathy toward him truly showed me how much they cared about making him feel comfortable, welcome and included. I love how often they send me pictures throughout the day and how happy my littles are when coming home. I don't at all feel like I'm doing my kids some type of injustice by going to daycare, instead, I feel like the diversity in this environment is enriching their childhood more than I could be at home while trying to work.
