I've brought a few things here for tailoring and cleaning over the years. It's a great place if you like to get spoken down to and quipped at. They excel in telling you something will be ready on a certain day/time and then yelling at you when you call to see if it's done or go in pick it up at the promised time. The workmanship has been fairly decent, which is why I gave an extra star. If it was based solely on professionalism it would be 1 star. Twice I brought Scout shirts here to have patches sewn on. Twice they were pinned on in the right place, but then sewn on crooked or not centered. Twice I will have to bring these shirts elsewhere to have these redone. $20 for this last round of patch-sewing needs. $20 I paid for mediocre work. I'm no seamstress, but I could have done this mediocre work myself, for free. Don't use this business. The older man that is usually there is also not friendly. read more

The best place for any tailoring on dresses. I use them all of the time for any of the weddings I am in throughout the year. Definitely recommend - the husband and wife team are a little older and more reserved, but are extremely kind and care about what they produce. Of all the 10+ times I've used them - they deliver and have the best and quickest turnaround. They accept credit cards and I always pay when I drop off - making it easy and quick for pick up. I was in a pinch a couple of weeks ago and needed a dress hemmed within 5 days and they delivered and were super accommodating. read more

I dropped off 2 things and I asked if they would be done this Friday . They told me ok no problem good ! I was giving a local business as I should . I went to today they didn't do it but told me they would do it today . But they called and said that because of the color it would bleed and didn't want to touch it ?but it's been cleaned before . #WHATISAFRICANMEASUREMENTS Today, 04/14/21, I called around 1pm to George's tailoring and asked if a friend of mine and myself could come in and get full body measurements taken, the man who answered said "yes, come at 3pm." At 3:15pm my friend and I go into George's tailoring and said "hi, we're here to get our measurements taken." The men standing across the room from us simply reply's and I QOUTE "we don't do AFRICAN measurements here!!!!!!" I respond back "I called earlier and asked if I could come and get our measurements taken and you said 'yes.'" To this he responds "I thought you were bringing clothes in to be measured" all while not looking in our direction and continuing to do his work. I did not know that places could still deny you service based on the complexion of your skin!!! read more

The only place where they go out their way for a deposit to dry clean, and they say it's only cash for me to drive around to go to a atm and the the next time I went there they magically accept cards and they are not rude but not nice at all read more

Would not recommend this place to anyone. I brought them two dresses that needed to be taken in 2 inches on each side of both dresses. They took my money $25 she said was going to be charged to my debit card and she charged 26 which I was like. Okay not a big deal. I go to pick it up today. Nothing is done to the dresses read more

I'm not saying they are rude but they definitely aren't friendly. They overcharge. I needed a zipper pull for my three year old sons jacket. The old guy took the jacket from me grabbed a pull from a case of a million of them put it on and in 30 seconds he was done. He comes back and I thought he was going to say no charge or it's on the house but he said $12!. That's outrageous. I know he's in business to make money but $12 for 30 seconds of work is greedy. I brought in a variety of items ranging from shirts to bathing suits to a skirt. The skirt needed a new elastic waist band, the bathing suit needed new straps, and the shirt needed a new style. My experience was awful, from start to finish. It is a small family business, so I understand and appreciate that it's not always going to be top-notch professional service, but this was just bad service entirely. I was not greeted, and basically ignored, when I walked through the door. Once I was finally acknowledged, and was trying to go through my needs and expectations, I was interrupted and rushed. She barely listened to what I said. However, she did stop to mock the shirt she was altering for me. She grabbed my items and walked away, without really giving me much more information. I had to ask when the items would be ready and she couldn't give me an exact time. I ended up leaving, a little shocked at what I just experienced. Maybe 5 to 7 days later, I went back to pick up my clothes. The shirt looked like something an eight-year-old could have done. The elastic band that was put into the skirt was so stiff it almost felt like plastic. I could not believe this was something she would put into a piece of clothing. I cut it out immediately after trying it on. The bathing suit straps looked great, however the hooks she used to attach the straps broke within the first hour of me wearing it. This establishment has been around for many many years. I can't speak to other work they have done, as this was my only experience. However, I will never be going back, nor will I recommend this place to anyone else. read more

George is so nice and I'm happy to support his business. I had an emergent need and he was quick to help and get the job done well and fast. Gave tips on what to do in the future and I learned about a certain type of seam. Very nice man, a man of few words but is talkative once you get him going. Brought an item today to have patches sewn in and custom embroidery applied. They were unable to commit to a delivery date. Word for word quote: "It may be done Friday or it may not. The person who does embroidery is really old." Really? That's my problem? Either take on the commitment to perform the work as requested or don't, but don't give me some weak "maybe it'll be done on time" answer. Who would put their money on the table when the proprietor of the business is so wishy washy when asked about their ability to deliver? I can't fathom how a business that is unable to provide firm commitments to customers in need of time-sensitive work has been in business since 1975 as they so proudly proclaim above the front door. Clearly it's for lack of alternatives rather than due to any degree of service. read more

Your review helps others learn about great local businesses. I love this place! The staff at George's is incredibly talented. I've taken pants for hems, bridesmaid dresses, and recently I've had quite a few pairs of jeans taken in at the waist--they do an amazing job with these. Some of them had to lose some decorative stitching on the side, but overall, it's well worth the money. My clothes fit like a glove now, and I won't take my clothes anywhere else. I've also had a cocktail dress cleaned as I dropped sautéed mushrooms down the front of it, and they got the stains out. I highly recommend it! Keep in mind, they've moved now to 146A into a larger shop, which was much needed. read more

I brought in a long bridesmaids dress that was too long and needed to be cut. It is a heavy fabric and didn't need a hem, however I wanted it to be professionally done because of the occasion. After paying $30 (what I feel was overpriced) for the fabric to be cut, I realized that the dress was way too short and the fabric was cut unevenly. I called to complain and did not receive genuine concern for the poor job that was done. I do not recommend this establishment because of the prices alone, let alone the poor job that was done. read more
