My family and I came in after leaving church, Sunday, September 26, 2021. We were seated, after about 20 minutes, and several waitresses WALKING BY NOT SAYING ANYTHING, the (what we assumed) manager came over to get our drink order. After we received our drinks, 25 minutes passed. I noticed the manager tell the dark haired, "masculine built" waitress, to take care of us. She rolled her eyes and walked over to another waitress, blonde hair big girl. She came over after 15 minutes and asked if we wanted to "order food". Then walked off. We waited for her to come back then decided to leave. It's worth noting that we were the ONLY Black people in the restaurant. NO ONE, (especially, the manager and wait staff) was wearing a mask. As a private business, I understand that they reserve the right to serve whomever they choose, just post that information on the door, so everyone knows. I dined at George's Restaurant before a performance at McGregor Hall. The casual restaurant is on the smaller side and fills up quickly. This could be why there was the rush to take the order before giving time to look over the menu. I went with the fettuccine alfredo with shrimp as that was the first thing I saw on the menu. It came with a side salad. There were about six pieces of shrimp mixed in with the pasta and sauce. The sauce was delicious and the garlic bread was so so good. The waitress did check on the table from time to time but never did refill the iced tea. I picked up that the objective was to flip the table rather than provide an enjoyable relaxing meal. The place is dirty, and it starts at the front door that has paint popped off and what paint is left needs cleaning. The building was built in c.1870 and is on the National Register of Historic Places, and the exposed bricks on the inside are original and dirty. The dining room had an odor. When I pulled-out my chair to sit, the back was sticky, and had something gummy on it. I prefer to eat at a clean restaurant. I will not be going back. read more

Georges in Henderson is really really good. I have eaten here multiple times and it is consistently good. I would usually do dinner and get the spaghetti but I would asked for it baked with pepperoni added. It would come in heavy meat sauce which was fine by me because I love extra sauce. The Greek pizza is really good as well and I will add chicken. Most of the time I will order the Greek pizza to go and eat it for dinner after work although if you wait too long it will start to get soggy. Lately I have stopped by got lunch a couple of times and they have excellent wraps! I am in love with the Greek chicken wrap and I will get a side of balsamic with it because again I enjoy extra sauce. The house chips are good with ranch and the fried mushrooms are nice too. The restaurant itself is always clean and the staff is very friendly. I will be going back here for lunch again soon! read more

This was a great find for Henderson! The portions are worth the price and quality of food. I went outside my norm for a first visit and got the Spinach pie and Mediterranean chicken. Decent flavors good quality ingredients made it all worth while. The only thing I'd say if I had to complain would be some things felt clunky. Like the baked potato was microwaved and the knife cuts on the salad varied, but like I said I'm not complaining especially for the area. Great staff and nice design in the inside. The food is decently priced and you get a good amount for what you pay for, but it is seriously lacking in flavor. I got a balsamic chicken wrap, the kind of thing you'd expect to be rather punchy given how explosive balsamic vinegar can be. Instead I was met with an oddly sweet and mostly bland chicken wrap of a very mediocre quality. Maybe this is the kind of restaurant you would enjoy if you do not season your food, or boil your chicken. Another major thing to take note is the wait times. The staff was fine and friendly which I enjoyed, that is the main saving grace of this restaurant and what kept me from giving less stars despite the wait. Perhaps I am not used to the lackadaisical nature of things in the south, I do not know for sure. My party waited around 50 minutes give or take 5. For compensation of this rather profound wait they gave us a small pizza off the menu. It tasted almost equally as bland as the chicken wrap with the added flavor of boiled plastic. I had one slice, and tried another thing maybe it was just the one. I was sorely mistaken. It was consistently terrible. My experience here was mediocre, and it certainly isn't for me or people like me. But if you thrive on bland food, this is a perfect place for you. read more

The food was delicious and fresh and served relatively quickly. Service was great and the restaurant was clean. The only real issue we had is very limited parking available in the parking lot. Small town restaurant, decent food, and lousy service. We had a terrible experience with flies in the restaurant. All windows and doors to the restaurant were closed on this Thursday afternoon. However, when we received our food, we had to fight the flies in order to find. We eventually got frustrated and asked for take out containers. We advised the manager of the problem we had experienced but it was her response that was so disturbing. She told us "all restaurants have flies and you're sitting by a window. " We shared with her that was in fact closed but she continued to say there was nothing they could do. I guess my only recourse is to report them to the Health Department. read more

Great little greek/italian restaurant in historic downtown Henderson. Now, Henderson isn't much to write home about right now- the GORGEOUS downtown area is mostly abandoned/boarded up :( , but it probably won't be like this forever (I hope!) and George's is a little gem that I hope stands the test of time to see a downtown economic revitalization. They've got something for everyone on the menu and a great patio area. We were on our way to the lake and they were VERY nice about my baby and 2 dogs on the patio, which you won't find everywhere (Who doesn't like babies and puppies? You ask. Well... lots of people). George's is an institution in Henderson, one of the places worth to try in its small humble downtown. They are listed as a Mediterranean restaurant but their menu is quite extensive--from salads, wraps, to burgers and sandwiches, and pizza/pasta--and their special entrees. They have a nice patio for outdoor seating with string lights--romantic spot for dinner. Inside is very nicely decorated, spacious and airy. My first time at George's I ordered their Olympia pesto cream pasta with chicken and it blew my mind! My boyfriend ordered their Hamburg steak, which I also got to try--it was good except that we forgot to tell the server we want it medium! She also forgot to ask, so we got it quite done. Other than that, service was good and quick! George's is definitely worth to try if you are within the area, stopping by from a long drive through i-85 or visiting the town to camp/fish at the nearby Kerr Lake! read more

In the area for business so trying to find a place to have lunch. Didn't know where to go and found George's on Yelp. Appeared to have good rating bugs and, it was open! I had a Caesar salad with chicken and my colleague had a wrap. We were both pleasantly surprised at how good our dishes were. Lettuce was fresh and crisp and it was loaded with chicken. Good Greek restaurant in down town Henderson. The interior is dated and not as visually appealing as the exterior but the food is good as is the service On the menu are wraps, subs, pizzas, burgers, and pinini. Clam chowder is the signature soup and is pretty good but not great. Of course there are entree dishes and some large large salads for a good price. The food was all good. They have homemade chips and homemade lemonade. The pizza on another guest's table look very good as well. There is a big covered patio with a handful of tables and mismatched chairs that could be nicer. A small bar area with a large TV and some tables. The restaurant deserves four stars but for the condition of the bathroom. They really need some attention and I would start by demoing the men's room which reminds me of a gas station toilet. They wouldn't even need to close down if they just rent a port a potty on the patio. Regulars would think it's an improvement. Seriously. Do this and you've got a great place I'd want to return to. read more

I've been to many restaurants since moving to Henderson North Carolina. Me and my family eat out a lot so which means we spend a lot of money on food itself. Being that covid-19 is going on they have curbside pick up, so we were ordering our food online but it wouldn't go through so we went to the place and place our order. After 8 or 9 cars we sat and waited for our food to find out that our receipt was misplaced. They retook our order and said " It's being made right now." They did apologize for the wait and I give credit for that and gave us deserts and drinks on them. When I come to a place I try to ignore the reviews but I had to make a review. Now the server was bussing her ass getting the orders out and she's a beast for that. We did enjoy the food though and have leftovers. Thank you!!! read more

My brother and I stopped for lunch at George's And enjoyed the tuna appetizer the cheeseburger and grilled chicken sub! the service de salads were delicious balsamic vinegar really tasty. The staff were engaging and friendly and made a difference in the service. We found the restaurant and I would highly recommend anybody on I 85 to stop and have a wonderful meal that is very reasonably priced! It is within a mile. We will be back! read more
