Fresh, healthy, deliciousness. A must for five stars. It's a little hidden off Lee Rd. behind Flemmings. Also, don't be fooled by the name and think they only serve desserts. They have some amazing sandwiches and salads. I had a a salad and it was made of fresh ingredients. The beets on the side were clearly homemade and perfect. Definitely going to try a dessert when I go again. They looked so yummy, almost too pretty to eat, and they are HUGE. The atmosphere is quaint. The tables are home-style where you grab a seat and some times sit at a table with other guests. Can't wait to go back! read more

This was a walk in walk out situation. It had been raining outside and upon entering, there were no rubber mats at the door, causing dangerous sliding. Had to hold on to wall. When we asked for and outside table, they said we'd have to come order at the counter, (slide some more), then place our order. Then slide across their floors to get back outside. They said they don't have table service. We left! This is our second bad experience. About a month ago when they had outside table service, we sat at a table that appeared to be clean. A very rude waiter who was having an argument with a nearby patron, came to our table with a spray bottle of "cleaner". He sprayed the patio table which had an open woven metal weave pattern with the cleaner. It smelled of Clorox. He left to continue his berating of the other patron over his superior knowledge of COVID protocol. We waited at least 10 minutes and he never came back. I, however, left with white bleach droplets all over the legs of new black pants that he recklessly sprayed bleach on. Certainly doubt that we'll go back. read more

If you like excellent food food wonderfully prepared and served fresh, George's needs to be on your list of favorites. I like all of the soups and sandwiches and the portions are generous enough to split. The cookies served at George's are the best around and one of the reasons it is a must visit eatery. Service is friendly at this busy establishment. George and his team are typically working on catering gigs in the community and "Everybody knows George" ! I have the good fortune of recommending people to visit and eat at George's regularly because my office is 2 doors away in the Shoppes at The Center Of Winter Park at 501 N. Orlando ave located on the North side of the plaza facing Lee Road. My favorite menu item is the fresh roasted beets with goat cheese and pine nut salad. All of the fresh baked breads are worthy of the quality reputation they enjoy including, Challah, French, cornbread, Banana nut and more. Take out is a consistent way for people to enjoy the food from George's due to the limited seating both indoors and outdoors. Love this place so much!! Haven't been here in quite a while- mainly because it's not close to my apartment- but everything I've tried here is divine! I'm very hesitant with handing out 5 stars unless I really think the place deserves it, and this place is definitely one that has earned the highest praise!! The staff treats you like family every time you visit and is incredibly helpful and kind. Unfortunately I've only had the pleasure of visiting twice; once was when I had first moved to the Florida area and was looking for nice places to visit, the other was when I was picking up some treats for friends, but both occasions have been wonderful experiences that always leave me in a great mood. I am so happy that George decided to open a new restaurant! I always CRAVEEEE for George's cookies. Well, who doesn't? Their cookies are super huge and it has lots of chocolate chips and nuts inside. It is definitely a heavenly treat! I think they are too popular to have such a little restaurant. There are only 3 tables inside that can sit about 16 people. You might have to share table which is okay. You can always make new friends. It's also very small to fit a stroller inside. I didn't see any high chair. I had the Puddsy sandwich. It was fresh and delicious! It also comes with 2 homemade side dishes and everything was well seasoned. I took 1 star away because I didn't think it was a child-friendly place. read more

Although it's not on Park Avenue, it has the charm and the quality food you're looking for. I immediately felt at home when I saw 3 of my very own clients in the restaurant dining. All different families. Not together. The selections are simple and the sides are ample and delicious. Employees were kind and thoughtful. That rarely happens anymore. The food was delicious. My family and I had lunch at this wonderful gem yesterday and we have not stopped talking about it between ourselves and letting others in on one of the best lunch places in all of Central Florida. Walking in makes you feel like you have been transported to old south Florida, lots of great artwork and a matchbook shadowbox that we laughed and brought back tons of memories of what Orlando and Winter Park were like back in the 70's and 80's. The staff and George were wonderful, the food was amazing. We had the potato pancakes with sour cream and housemade applesauce for starters. Our party had an assortment of items from the menu; one had the beet and goat cheese salad (who knew beets could be so good), another had the egg salad on a fresh croissant (my wife loved it) and then I had the French dip with house made French fries and the baked beans (this sandwich is the standard by which all French dips shall now be judged by and I feel very confident will never compare with going forward). The French bread was grilled with a touch of butter, then stuffed with some of the most tender and flavorful prime rib I had tasted in a long time. Absolutely spellbindingly delicious. Real au jus to dip this powerhouse of a sandwich in. The hand cut French fries rival the best from any legendary burger joint in Southern California. Then the staff brought out a sampling of warm house made gourmet cookies for dessert. Everything was great and our visit to George's was truly one of the best memories of our entire trip. We cannot wait to come back for our next visit. I should mention that George's is not very big inside although they do have tables outside in the garden area. Great lunch spot in Winter Park. Great service. Used to be just cookies. But now has great Salads and sandwiches. I had a French dip which was fabulous. It's a huge thing of food with two sides. Lots more food than just one person to eat. Could be split. My friend has a 1933 salad which was fabulous as well. We just ate at Georges for the second and last time. First time it was very busy and staff was running circles around each other, a man in the kitchen yelling at one of the girls behind the counter to get in there, everyone could hear him yelling, so unprofessional. Had we not already paid we would have left. about 30 min later we got our food. My Egg salad had no seasoning it was dry and flavorless. My husband got the cheese steak which was ok. Today We decided to give Georges the benefit of the doubt and give them another try. It was not busy at all but we waited almost 30 min for our food. My husbands Pastrami was very sparse and DRY. He asked for double Cole slaw as his 2 sides since that's the only side they offer that he eats but he got chips and Cole slaw. not a biggie, the one slaw was plenty but its not what he ordered and the chips went to waste. I got the cuban, certainly they forgot the pickles, nope, a Cuban without pickles! They handed me 2 big pickle slices when I asked if they forgot the pickles. It was also not pressed, although the cheese was melted maybe from a broiler but when I got the sandwich it was not hot and had no flavor, just very dry. I asked for a loaded baked potato and fruit as my sides, my order came with chips instead of a potato. When I asked they said they were out of baked potatoes. Ok, maybe they could ask what I would prefer instead of just giving me chips which I don't eat. The chips went to waste. The sandwich sizes and amount of meat also seems inconsistent, They guy next to us had a sandwich comparable to my husbands Pastrami, possibly roast beef which had triple the amount of meat. We laughed as we left saying since they are closing in an hour, its Sat and they won't be open again until Tuesday, we probably got the last small bit of pastrami that was left and chips they were trying to get rid of since neither of us asked for them but we both got them. slow service, overpriced, tasteless food. I stopped in to buy a drink in order to make change so I can tip my Uber driver. Owner of this here location told me my beverage was free so I couldn't make change anyway. This place has so much more than cookies! Their sandwiches are out of this world and while they are priced from around 8-12 dollars they are totally worth it. They include two sides (Mac and cheese is great and so are their roasted beets!) and the sandwich size is large. We had just finished lunch at the Chinese next door, which was nothing to write about, when we noticed George's. We had a couple chocolate butterscotch cookies. They were a chocolate cookies topped with butterscotch chips, chocolate chips, coconut and yumminess! It was one of the best cookies I've ever had! The menu looks a bit pricey, so look it up before you go. The decor is very cute and I enjoyed looking at all of the cute stuff for 15 min. Otherwise, just order takeout. My favorites are any of the soups and their fabulous cake. They're known for their cookies but I prefer the cakes. They serve two sides with each sandwich. Love this place. It was my first time here and everyone was very nice. It is a very cute/quaint cafe that makes everything homemade. I had a hard time deciding what to order because I wanted to try everything! I ended up getting the chicken salad sandwich, chili, and broccoli salad. It was all fantastic! I also got cookies that were directly from the oven. So naturally I had to have dessert first while they were still warm.....delicious!! I think I found my new favorite lunch spot! PERFECTION! We had George's Gourmet Catering at our wedding reception and WOW... the guests are still talking about it. We can't say enough about the quality of not only the food but also the relationship. George and Alice truly care about you and your overall experience. They went above and beyond to be sure that we had the perfect day. They personally met with us at our location to be sure they had all of the details perfect. His staff even arrived 3 hours prior to the reception to set everything up. Everyone was dressed very professional. Georges pricing was extremely fair and reasonable. At the end of the reception, his staff cleaned up and had a seamless exit and all of the extra food was neatly packaged and placed in our refrigerator. I have to include that George also provided the food for my bridal shower. He has been in the business for a very long time and is so in touch with what people will gravitate toward for food items. We trusted him to dictate the menu for both the bridal shower and the wedding. We will definitely use George again and will highly recommend him to family and friends. read more
