However, there is sometimes a place for "experts", people who do a thing, who have trained, and prepared, and have the tools to achieve a correct outcome. There is nothing wrong with getting some tips for a minor problem, and (if you are a bit handy) taking the DIY route on something. However there are some things that we should leave to those who have trained, worked hard to acheive the skills to do a thing; governance, surgery, complex plumbing, electric, tree felling, bicycle derailleurs! I have the luxury of being able to leave work in the middle of a day on Friday. I called, they were available, we drove over, they took the bike right in. Had some pleasant conversation, they fixed it in 15 minutes ($20), and educated us [they always do]. We have been here 3 times now, and 3 times an absolutely 100% positive experience. This is a quality business, with capable caring folks. Good products/service/expertise isn't "cheap" it shouldn't be. This place cares about the work they do, they care about cyclists and they are an excellent resource. This is our new "go to".

He's well versed on the latest gadgets & trends if you have time to converse. The store is bright & well maintained. Staff members are polite. They offer more Specialized products (bikes, tires, tubes, & apparel) than most local bike stores that I support and carry other high quality brands like Eliel. About three weeks later, someone points out that my son's helmet is too small, doesn't cover his forehead. I decided to trust Croft on bike doc people since they must know what they are doing. A few days later someone else says the same thing. So I call them...wondering if they can reevaluate. This is an expensive helmet, and my kids safety is paramount. Welp, they said I was a few days outside of their 30 day return/exchange window. Wouldn't budge. Looks like we'll be shopping for a helmet and our bikes elsewhere. Anyway, place doesn't correct mistakes, and too inflexible on such a small thing to keep a return customer happy and safe without charging them more money.

Mechanics there are used to working on them & some parts are in stock. The owner Steve & team heard my case and jumped into action. They proactively kept me abreast of the progress, even called to deliver the not so great news that my shifters were delayed which delayed completion. It took 2 weeks to make all repairs. I was running errands on my day off and received a text saying I'm Ready to Roll!! Steve and team showed the care & concern I needed during this trying time. ;) Visit for ALL your cycling needs no matter if you're just starting out or an experienced cyclist. I am a senior citizen and the Lock on my bike got damaged by someone trying to get the lock off the…read morebike to steal it. The lock held but the keyhole was damaged. I needed to have the lock ground off to replace it. My bike is an electric trike and way too big and heavy to get into the trunk of my car. I called The Bike Doctor and spoke to Kevin. He made a house call the next day, ground off the old lock and brought me choices for a replacement lock. All within 24 hours! Amazing customer focused, courteous service! I told the owner who looked less than happy to see me in his store that I was interested in purchasing a road bike. After testing the bike I had chosen a (Religh Revenio 2.0) I wanted to leave my hybrid for the tune up and come back the next day or two while I thought about the pricey purchase I was about to make I didn't want to take up all their time and left my bike to lest them know i was a serious customer. I was assured even if iI did not purchase the new bike my hybrid would be ready for pick up when I came back. I went with money in hand to pick up my new bike and Hybrid. The owner was not their ok not a big deal but the bike that was being held for me was back on the floor after two days with no sold sign on it. So they gave their word to hold the bike but would have sold it had someone walked in their store with cash. ANYWAY I walked to the counter told them why i was there and was ready to do the transaction. I asked about my Hybrid first.. they had done nothing to it. I asked about the road bike and the modifications again nothing.. the kid behind the counter says I'm sorry we want to sell you a bike..I responded I was trying to buy one but I was expecting them to be ready... at least the hybrid. So I was about to just cancel the whole thing and go elsewere.. where the sellers would be ready to do business but I really wanted the Religh. Altogether the money I gave to the store was 1100 with accessories and do-dads. I have had this bike for 6months now and wished I would have went to REI in college park who are very friendly and extra helpful and offer suggestions on purchases..I guess family bikes will sell you a bike if you want one but REI will help you with suggestions and information. I should have gone to ReI after I found they sell the same bike. So far they have done much better and are so much friendlier without the sarcasm. If you buy a bike here they will sell you one and not much more than what you ask them for... GO TO REI!!

Yep, tire flat. So I jump online to figure out what time this bike shop opens, 11AM. I call in case they do a seasonal shutdown and they confirm they are open for business. We are promptly served, about 5 folks working upfront. We are in/out within 30 minutes with a new tire tube installed plus some advice on future service I will need after I request an inspection for other defects. So I suspect I'll take my bike back at the end of this riding season or early Spring 2025. Their inventory is awesome. There was a customized none-motorized bike upfront waiting for pickup that cost $8K. Mine blowing! They have lots of e-bike too. They have lots of bikes, period. They have a small 2 seat waiting area with coffee service. I bought my bike from them, many moons ago and she's still in pretty good shape(except from being dirty I was told with a smile). The recommended future service stuff is low cost routine maintenance type stuff IMO.

Had the most chill time shopping for skates today with my daughter. I was having a hard time…read morefinding a shop in Md that sold skates and finally got a suggestion for this shop. The skates are affordable, quality skates. They come with a 90 day warranty in case of any defects, and a year of adjustments or care that the shop offers for your skates. The shop has been in this location for 31 years and is run by Kevin (he was professional, hilarious, and very knowledgeable about the skates). We came from Baltimore, so it was a little over an hr drive. The entire process from choosing, trying on, and getting the wheels/brakes adjusted, and paying was about 40 minutes. That included him helping other customers at the same time. A great multitasker for sure! His son was also there helping as well. This shop is located in a small shopping strip. The parking lot was a little tight but definitely doable and it wasn't packed. If you are looking for skates in any size from kids to adults definitely check them out asap!

Kevin was so knowledgeable and helpful in assisting me choose the right pair of skates. He also helps with customizing your skates (wheels, bearings, etc.) and you can always bring your skates back for any alignment and adjustment issues for free. If you purchased skates from somewhere else, you can still bring your skates in for repairs or adjustments, but for a small fee. He also sells wheels, pads, and other accessories for your skate needs. Overall, I highly recommend this place!!
