    Beer Taps

The annoying thing about this place was that they didn't take cash, but then again that turned out to be the case for quite a few places. However, other than that annoyance (which is quite an annoyance since I don't have an English bank account) the pub wasn't too bad. It seemed rather popular, especially when I was there, which was shortly after it opened. They had some good beers, but then again not being a native Brit I can't really tell what are typical beers, and what are good beers. Still, I liked this place.

The George Inn was the PERFECT, quintessentially British pub in which to spend my final night of my European adventure. The staff was kindly accommodating of my very late check in (I arrived at 11 pm and they greeted me like an old friend). The room was cute and quaint - a perfect size for a solo traveler. It came equipped with a flatscreen TV, a closet, rotating fan and nice streetside window view. They even provided a teapot with teabags and biscuits. The pub downstairs was a fantastic setting for a quick cider before bed (tall pour, friendly staff, comfy seating), as well as a lovely way to start the following morning. My included breakfast really sealed the deal: I got the full English and a pot of tea, and everything was delicious. Finally, there is NO beating the location of this stellar inn - right on the Thames, a few minutes walk from the Castle, Alexandria Gardens and Jubilee Foutain. What more do you need? I would stay here again in a heartbeat. XOXO

Tasty sirloin and chorizo, mozzarella sandwiches!

We had a nice lunch and a pint here. After a short train ride in from Marylebone we grabbed a bite to eat. We later found out we were losing time to tour the castle but at the time we enjoyed ourselves. We walked around and looked at the posted menus and chose the George Inn by the looks of the place and the menu. It was a good choice. We both ordered sandwiches that we shared with each other. We ordered the sirloin steak sandwich and a chorizo and mozzarella melt sandwich. Both were served with chips or fries depending on where you are from. They were both good and we cleaned our plates. L8-L10 ($12-$15) per sandwich is pricey with what we pay in the states but common for what we found at most places during our time in England. It was nice to just hang out and enjoy a pint before we toured the castle. The staff was friendly and we enjoyed ourselves. I would rather eat here than on the other side of the bridge near the castle where it is more crowded and a lot more touristy. Glad we tried it out.

The rooms are lovely and clean, the pub downstairs is super fun, and the staff - Jeff especially - has gone above and beyond to make us feel at home.

When we arrived, we were sat on the patio, but not near the views despite being the only ones out there. We quickly ordered drinks, and then food not long after. From the time we were sat, to when our food finally came out, it had been over an hour. I know we had a larger group, but the waitress never came back to check on our drink or offer any insight on the wait. We had to seek it out ourselves. We were also being tormented by wasps, one of which we caught in a cup to stop it from bothering us. We saw people seated after us get their food before us. We even saw a couple sit down, wait for ages for service, and leave before ever ordering drinks. Once the food finally came, it was bland. My fish and chips were flavorless. Others at the table complained of food being either boiling hot or lukewarm. The little chocolate mint they bring you with the check was the best part. Someone in our group asked for an extra mint on the way out and they initially told her no. Overall, terrible experience. Made us late to the next thing on our itinerary and we didn't even enjoy the food.

A local saw us roaming the streets with their heads down in our phone, searching for places to eat. He was so nice and recommended a few places. I actually recommend this place. He even walked us to the restaurant. That's our surprise. He used to even live in Fort Lauderdale once upon a time, but it's been he's been living in Windsor city for a few years now he seems so happy and upbeat. We arrived to the place. There was really not a lot of people there we sat down wherever we liked, and the server greeted us and took our order. I ordered the fish and chips with the Minty peas, I felt like the fish needed more seasoning in my opinion, and I wasn't a huge big fan of the minty peas. My grandmother had a balmoral chicken entree which she enjoyed. The plates were huge and filling. They played music like 90s rock and some Bob Marley. The place was pretty chill with locals at the bar. They did had a dog in there which was cute but also not too cute when it got too close to your food so we had to tell the owner to get their dog
