This place was awesome! Great Pub outside of Windsor Castle. A beautiful place to visit and be. The chatter was fun and people watching was fun. So much to take in and enjoy. The pints were well poured and the bag of crisps were great. Will I be back, the answer is Yesss! So much to see and do.

Looking for lunch around Windsor? Skip everything else in the area and make sure you eat here. This place has a lot of charm. Get a table on the 2nd floor and your in for a fine view of the castle. If you're bent on going to a pub, this place will set the standard. Bangers and mash was excellent. Three thick sausages over mash with peas and a thick gravy on the side. So tasty. I liked fish and chips too. Solid piece of haddock, slightly crispy and delicious with or without the tartar sauce. Steak fries on the side to finish it off. Friendly service and there's a good selection of ale and alcohol. Order everything at the bar downstairs and make your way up to a table on the 2nd floor. They'll bring the food to you. I haven't seen Prince Harry but I could imagine him having a pint here. This was one of my favorite places to eat for classic British food.

I've been here previously for chips and a beer. This time just a few pints. They were excellent pints. This is what an American (me) thinks a pub should look like. And with a tasty selection on the pump, how can you do better?

This pub is located right outside the walls of Windsor castle. I expected it to be more full than what it turned out to be. We found a table easily and there was no waiting around. Make sure you order at the bar, and they bring the food to your table. My companion and I both ordered the steak and Ale pies which tasted great. We also got Onion rings which were ok. Honestly they looked like Burger King onion rings, which is fine but feels a tad overpriced. Bottom line - if you are a tourist looking for a pub to eat at then this is your place. I would certainly eat here again, just not the onion rings.

Wow, I was really impressed with this traditional British pub, just steps from the exit of Windsor Castle! They had about 10 different British beers on tap, including some ales you've probably not seen before. (They were certainly new to me, and I like beer.) If they have the Hobgloblin, definitely give it a try! The food was also delightfully surprising. I had a yorkshire pudding bowl filled with mashed potatoes and 2 full sausages, then filled up with gravy. It was stick-to-your-ribs yummy goodness. My brother got the chicken + mushroom pot pie (which also came with chips!). It looked delicious - The puff pastry crust was amazing. I hope I can come back someday - But Windsor Castle isn't something I'll do regularly though! :)

Having spent the morning wandering around Windsor Castle, a pint was deserved. As we left the castle, directly opposite, was The Horse and Groom. Seating outside, it was a nice day, we had to give it a try. Very friendly 'wench' serving at the bar of this 18th Century hostelry. Nice selection of real ales as well as the more obviously known lagers. Food on offer but we didn't try it but what we saw was wholesome and in plenty. Nice pub.

Great fish & chips. Thought it would be too touristy with it being right across the street from the castle. But it was duper low key. The fish was so good and the chips were crispy and hot. 5 stars for sure.

After walking Windsor Castle, this place was exactly what we were looking for in a place to grab a quick bite, a tall pint, and experience a little bit of the traditional old English pub. The staff was incredibly friendly and the decor was lovely. Food was hearty and delicious.

They have lattes!?!? Imagine me in this place relaxing with a warm cup of latte. Guy behind the bar was fast and friendly.

When we arrived, we were sat on the patio, but not near the views despite being the only ones out there. We quickly ordered drinks, and then food not long after. From the time we were sat, to when our food finally came out, it had been over an hour. I know we had a larger group, but the waitress never came back to check on our drink or offer any insight on the wait. We had to seek it out ourselves. We were also being tormented by wasps, one of which we caught in a cup to stop it from bothering us. We saw people seated after us get their food before us. We even saw a couple sit down, wait for ages for service, and leave before ever ordering drinks. Once the food finally came, it was bland. My fish and chips were flavorless. Others at the table complained of food being either boiling hot or lukewarm. The little chocolate mint they bring you with the check was the best part. Someone in our group asked for an extra mint on the way out and they initially told her no. Overall, terrible experience. Made us late to the next thing on our itinerary and we didn't even enjoy the food.

A local saw us roaming the streets with their heads down in our phone, searching for places to eat. He was so nice and recommended a few places. I actually recommend this place. He even walked us to the restaurant. That's our surprise. He used to even live in Fort Lauderdale once upon a time, but it's been he's been living in Windsor city for a few years now he seems so happy and upbeat. We arrived to the place. There was really not a lot of people there we sat down wherever we liked, and the server greeted us and took our order. I ordered the fish and chips with the Minty peas, I felt like the fish needed more seasoning in my opinion, and I wasn't a huge big fan of the minty peas. My grandmother had a balmoral chicken entree which she enjoyed. The plates were huge and filling. They played music like 90s rock and some Bob Marley. The place was pretty chill with locals at the bar. They did had a dog in there which was cute but also not too cute when it got too close to your food so we had to tell the owner to get their dog
