Well, this is the pub that I discovered that people can still smoke in the outdoor eating areas, though I'm not really sure how long that is going to last. Actually, it had a pretty awesome outdoor area, but then again with the indoor smoking ban, that has become more common in England like it has in Australia. It's a pretty awesome pub though, and it has multiple levels as well. Yeah, this place was pretty cool actually.

Pretty average breakfast selections but the staff was so friendly. Beautiful interior and a great place to relax in between exploring sites in Windsor.

    Fish and chips! Quite alright.

This place isn't as bad as fellow yelpers make it out to be! We stopped by after a trip to Windsor castle and ordered 2 fish & chips entrees, a beer, and tea for 23 pounds which is about $36. Considering the exchange rate and how much our dollar sucks right now, I thought it was a good deal. The fish and fries were crispy and fresh, though greatly improved with the assorted sauces readily available at our table, and I loved the mashed peas (we have no such thing in the US). Between 3 people we were adequately full splitting the 2 entrees. The beer was a bit tasteless but that's okay. I don't know if it was the keg or the beer itself. I finished it anyway. This place was crowded on all three floors when we came in. You order at the bar and then sit down and wait. We didn't wait too long. I know the Thai establishments on the same street have better reviews than this place but I didn't travel half way around the world to eat Thai food in England. I enjoyed the fish n chips and the mashed peas (where can I get them state side?!?) and am glad we chose this place.

    View from table!

Great ales, great service. And it's hard to beat looking at a castle while having a pint! Go here! Go to Windsor!

When we arrived, we were sat on the patio, but not near the views despite being the only ones out there. We quickly ordered drinks, and then food not long after. From the time we were sat, to when our food finally came out, it had been over an hour. I know we had a larger group, but the waitress never came back to check on our drink or offer any insight on the wait. We had to seek it out ourselves. We were also being tormented by wasps, one of which we caught in a cup to stop it from bothering us. We saw people seated after us get their food before us. We even saw a couple sit down, wait for ages for service, and leave before ever ordering drinks. Once the food finally came, it was bland. My fish and chips were flavorless. Others at the table complained of food being either boiling hot or lukewarm. The little chocolate mint they bring you with the check was the best part. Someone in our group asked for an extra mint on the way out and they initially told her no. Overall, terrible experience. Made us late to the next thing on our itinerary and we didn't even enjoy the food.

The staff was friendly. £20 Fish & Chips was great and perhaps the very best Fish & Chips of my entire UK adventure. The fish was thickly battered, hot and crispy...the chips were fantastic...and the minty mushy peas redefined my love for this very unloved side dish, delicious! £19 Steak Pie with mash potatoes and vegetables was rich, hearty, and delicious.

A local saw us roaming the streets with their heads down in our phone, searching for places to eat. He was so nice and recommended a few places. I actually recommend this place. He even walked us to the restaurant. That's our surprise. He used to even live in Fort Lauderdale once upon a time, but it's been he's been living in Windsor city for a few years now he seems so happy and upbeat. We arrived to the place. There was really not a lot of people there we sat down wherever we liked, and the server greeted us and took our order. I ordered the fish and chips with the Minty peas, I felt like the fish needed more seasoning in my opinion, and I wasn't a huge big fan of the minty peas. My grandmother had a balmoral chicken entree which she enjoyed. The plates were huge and filling. They played music like 90s rock and some Bob Marley. The place was pretty chill with locals at the bar. They did had a dog in there which was cute but also not too cute when it got too close to your food so we had to tell the owner to get their dog
