This is a review and recommendation for Rick at George Henry Heating & Cooling. Rick is a technician at George Henry H & C, he is very knowledgeable, professional and dedicated. We endorse him without reservation. We had asked for a quote to replace our air conditioning/heating unit. Rick arrived promptly and in uniform (shirt and trousers). There are very few techs, who show up easy to identify the company they work for by their appearance. After introducing himself and confirming the purpose of the visit, Rick went right to it. He identified quickly that our AC unit, and consequently the air return opening in the ceiling, is too small for the house square footage. He also advised us that the air flow in the current ducts is too low by taking a meter reading. In fact, each of his observations was based on readings from devices, not personal guesses. In our parting discussion, Rick noted in detail an additional aspect of our cooling system, which is no longer compliant with industry standards and how we could address it. Rick completed a fairly thorough investigation of our system and presented his findings and his suggested resolutions in a way we could understand. It's one thing to be a thorough expert, but it's quite another to be able to explain the findings in a way that the customer(s) will be able to make an educated decision how to proceed. Our AC started to intermittently stop cooling, of course during the latest heat wave. Scheduled a visit from George Henry and Rick came out. He thoroughly inspected my AC equipment, advised I was wasting money on the pleated high MER filters, also advised that the little air flow scoops that were on the overhead vents were counter productive to air conditioning the front room. Who knew?? They were there when we bought the house and I never questioned their use. Rick explained that my heating system could have some problems (carbon monoxide) and I will definitely have him back before cold weather. He is very professional, and answered all of my questions. I called George Henry for a new unit, my first mistake was not to get multiple quotes, but they ended up being very highly priced after talking to people after the fact. I also saw that my thermostats were charged $650 eachwhen on Amazon you can find them for about $200 each. The night after installation, my hot water went out, but they fixed it early the next morning. They also could not haul the unit to the house so my husband had to grab it with no discount. But Rick, the installer was amazing to work with, and was very knowledgeable, and did an amazing job cleaning up previous mistakes! read more

They called back before they opened! Our system went out in the middle of the night so I called and left a message around 4:30 am hoping to beat the rush of the morning. It was a Saturday and they actually called me back a couple of hours before they opened. The tech (Carlos), showed up when expected and with all the parts and experience to get us up and running. He was very helpful in teaching me how to identify a couple of issues that might let me know if the system wasn't working at peak performance. Highly recommended! read more

Horrible customer service and very expensive! We had them out to replace the supply lines on 3 sinks and 2 bathrooms and install a charcoal filter under the kitchen sink. They tried to charge double the cost of the water filtration system but I caught it. By the way they charge you hourly while they sit in the truck and work up the bill and they don't wear booties in your house or offer them. To make it up to me they agreed to come out and put a recirculating water pump and waive the trip charge and 1/2 hour of labor. I drove up from Phoenix just to meet them and they never showed or called. I called them to ask what happened and they never even called back to resolve what happened. They don't respect your time or money. Find a different plumber so you don't suffer like we did! read more

Idiots! These guys lied about being able to fix one of my outdoor Spicket's but the worst thing was they did not notify me that there was a very sopping wet section under my house due to my shower drain being broken. They charged me $444 to fix one Spicket on the opposite side of the house which I thought was way too much. The following day I went to check out the opposite Spicket they said was not accessible from underneath the house. When I was under the house not only was the Spicket accessible but the ground was muddy and had obviously been wet for a very long time. When I investigated further I noticed that the drain coming from my shower next to the Spicket was so worn that it was wobbling away from the shower drain itself. Can't believe these guys did not inform me of the wet section even if they did not notice the broken shower drain. But also completely ridiculous they said they could not access the water Spicket when I can obviously see and reach the line myself. read more

George Henry put our hvac in about 3 years ago and every year during the heat of summer our air conditioning fails and we have to turn it off for at least an hour and cook before we can turn our air back on. I am very disappointed it makes a horrible noise and the compressor stops running. We have called several times and they find nothing,but a service charge. It was a mistake using them as they were doing about 3 jobs at the same time. Not sure they paid attention. Use them at your own risk! read more

I've used them in the past, but recently I've had 2 scheduled appointments that they failed to show up for to replace a part on a new hearing system they installed in my home. Back to back days they failed to show up, or even call to let me know they weren't coming. Wasted days sitting around home during the time frame they scheduled. I hate to write a negative review but I am so disappointed I feel that I have to send a note. First, let me say that our heater/air conditioner is working like a dream NOW and your service crew are #1 but....... When we first contacted you during the heat of the year and our temp. in the house was at 98 degrees, you had your men out to diagnose the problem the same day and it was that our unit needed to be replaced. You ordered the parts and scheduled the work for a replacement. The work was finished promptly and we felt that the problem was solved. Well, it was for a day at a time until we began to wake up to a temp. of 64 degrees. This went on for three or four service calls until Scott finally fixed the problem and we were charged a service call for them all. During all of this, we had paid our account in full - approximately $15,000.+, not counting the service charges in cash. When the work was finally finished and the unit repaired, Scott told us that due to the inconvenience, his office staff would be sending a check to reimburse the service charges in the next day or two. That was almost a month ago and we have called weekly and your response was l. oh, sorry, I thought I wrote it, 2. we've had an emergency health problem with one of our employees, 3. well, you know that Monday was a holiday and 4. give it a few more days. I'm very sorry about your employee but you also realize that my hubby is in congestive heart failure, COPD, on oxygen 24/7, I have just completed 25 cancer radiation treatments while trying to care for my husband's needs, etc., etc., and we understood how things happen but.......we didn't ask for anything other than what we paid in advance for. read more

The technicians are skilled and courteous, but Rebecca in the office is rude and attempts to double bill every service. She is dishonest. I will never do business with this company again. I paid my bills with them instantly. They did not have to wait one day for their money. If this is how they treat customers, I do not know how they expect to stay in business in a small town. I had them install two mini split A/C units on one of my apartment buildings. They were on-time, communication was great and they did a wonderful job. In fact, the A/C installers did so well that I also hired their plumbing division to do some remodel work in one of the bathrooms and they did a great job there also. Not being a full time resident of Payson, we were dismayed when we arrived at our home to find flooding in our master bathroom. It was Easter, so we waited until the next day and called George Henry's, they came out the same day a diagnosed a slab leak. They stopped the leak and then returned two days later and fixed the problem by rerouting the pipe. I can't say enough about how professional and courteous they were. They really showed pride in their work and left our home much better than they found it. A few days after they finished their work, our insurance adjuster came in from Phoenix to inspect the damage. He looked at our bill and told me that he has never seen a fairer bill or such clean work from a plumber. He told me to hang on to their number, as they are 1 in a 1000. read more

I just used George Henry's Plumbing for the first time on August 30, 2013 to fix a leaking hose bibb. My appt was for 11:00 am. I was called promptly by the tech who told me the job he was on was running late, and asked if 11:30 was ok with me. I said ok, and true to his word, Daniel showed up at 11:30. He was polite, professional, and an all around nice guy. He found the problem and got to work. Unfortunately he had to use the crawl space that runs the length of the house to get to the problem. Even worse, he had to do this a couple of times. No complaints from Daniel, and when I told him I felt bad for him, he smiled and said it's all part of the job. It doesn't get better than that! I think the price was reasonable and we will be using George Henry's for future needs! read more

He could've done more song and dance and charged us more, but he was honest with us about not being able to fix our problem and only charged us the service call. George henry review THE WORST UNPROFESSIONAL SERVICE EVER. ZERO STARS is to many!! I purchased a heat pump from them 2 years ago and it was installed by them. I called for an appointment because it isn't cooling. My number was obviously in their system and she verified my address. She verified the purchase date and that it was under warranty. I was told there is a $95 trip charge to come to my area, which is remote. There were no availabilities for a couple weeks but we made an appointment. After that I received two text messages confirming my appointment for the wrong date, wrong address. I called and let Jaunita know my phone was somehow tagged to another customer. After some fumbling around and keeping me on the phone we confirmed my address, phone and appointment. Two days later I got the phone call from the technician telling me he was on the way to fix my hot water heater! This morning I called to verify my appointment window and Jaunita said, I don't see you in the board, then (apparently speaking to herself) she said oh no, oh no, can I put you on hold. Then she disconnected the call. When I called back she apologizes and is loudly talking to someone across the room, she says she is transferring me. Ruth comes on, who I believe is the owner of the company. She says no way can I have an appointment today because they stop traveling to my area a long time ago and they just can't afford it and blah blah blah, all my technicians are on unemployment and she is very limited with her tech and they just can't afford to go to my community 17 miles outside of Town. THEN I said I had called them because I purchased the equipment from them and they installed it. Now she started arguing that I did NOT and if I had I never paid for the work! They only had a Bid for me. No payment or installation. Now then. When I made the appointment Jaunita was able to access my account immediately told me of the warranty and scheduled me an appointment. Why was that done if I never purchased and they CAN NOT come to my community? Ruth proceeded to tell me Jaunita is "new". The bottom line is I will have to call someone else to repair, the equipment she now is suggesting they installed and never received payment for. Obviously they are not competent enough to manage their business and hopefully will be going out of business soon. NEVER call them for anything! 2 other people in my community already told me they are terrible and had bad experiences with plumbing jobs done all wrong. These guys are great. Our water heater went out (actually, the wiring burned, but God protected us by not allowing the fire to spread in our basement) on a Saturday. I noticed at about 5pm that we had no hot water. Called our home warranty service and they contacted George Henry Plumbing (the only thing Landmark Home Warranty did right). They had someone to our home by 6:30 (on a Saturday night!). Unfortunately there was no fix for this, so he just made sure we were safe until they could replace it. They had a VERY difficult time dealing with Landmark Home Warranty. Landmark Home Warranty refused to pay all the costs involved in doing the repair. We agreed to pay the fees Landmark Home Warranty was too cheap to deal with and Casey and a co-worker were able to return on Tuesday at the time they said they would be there and do the very difficult and complicated replacement in much less time than I would have expected. Everyone I dealt with at GH Plumbing (Casey, Holly, Suzanne, and sorry, but I didn't get the other guy's name) was professional, polite, courteous, and friendly. Casey and his co-worker even cleaned up after themselves and left everything as it was before they started except now we have hot water. If you need plumbers in Payson, call George Henry Plumbing!!! Do NOT get a home warranty from Landmark Home Warranty though. read more

I'd give them zero, but that's not a choice! Arrived at 2nd home in Pine, AZ last night for Thanksgiving holiday and found out the heat was not working. Called George Henry - lady answered and asked if we wanted emergency service last night, we figured we could tuff it out until morning. Lady said 'Carlos' would be here by 9 a.m. He had an install, but would come to us first. Carlos didn't show up - got no call - called around 10 and was told they had an 'emergency' that came up. I asked for a call back for an ETA - didn't get any!!! Called again and was told they didn't know if they would get to us today! I told them I was here with my 75 yr. old sister who can't walk. I kept asking for a reason why our appointment, that was ALREADY SET UP! - was being bumped. All I got was, 'We've had emergencies, we had to finish installs.' I guess two elderly ladies alone in a 50 degree house is NOT an emergency to them!!! I was told to speak to the manager. I was, admittedly, hot under the collar, and finally she said she was refusing to do the job. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL! Unless you're an existing client I guess you rate up their with dog crap. read more

NEVER AGAIN! On November 2, I called George Henry about my heat not working. I told them no hurry because I figured they were busy. My appt was scheduled for November 13, from 12-4. After waiting 2 weeks for them to come out, I had to call them 2 times to find out where they were. I called both at 3pm and again at 4:30pm. During the last call, they reached the technician - told me the tech would be there at 5:30pm. The technicians were here less than 10 minutes and said it "might" be the control circuit board. Being Friday after business hours, It was too late to do anything. Although they did nothing, they charged a a $40 trip charge! I called the office Monday morning asking for a manager. They didn't answer the phone but I was able to leave a message. "Sharon" called me back saying she was the supervisor. "Sharon" said she had called about getting the part, but had no idea of the price, when it would be in, or when it could be installed. I was livid! This is my only form of heat and I live here year round! I called George Henry because I thought they were a reputable company! The only decent thing they did was refund the trip charge! read more

I wish I could put zero stars! I totally got screwed by this company. I had them replace a hot water heater in a mobile home. They did and within a few weeks the water was scalding hot (160 degrees) and the hot water was spurting out of all the faucets and clanging the pipes to the point that I thought they were going to burst. Their technician Brian diagnosed a faulty gas regulator and it was replaced. Well, it never fixed the problem so they replaced it AGAIN! And guess what????? So they tell me that this type of hot water heater and system won't work for my situation. And that is it!!!! $550 dollars later (after 2 attempts) they left me in the same position that I was in when they installed the first unit. So, as George exited he said "Hang in There" WTF!!! I wouldnt be in this predicament if they installed a proper unit to begin with!!! And George told me that the Ruud unit would be better (which they carry) because it does not have the new gas gauge and has the old fashion light the pilot light yourself deal. Well, the right thing to have done the second time they came out to replace the same piece was to offer to put the Ruud in (because they new that the situation would happen again) and split the difference with me. I own my own business and if I did not resolve the problem on the first attempt then I would make damn sure that the customer gets what they need. Now I am stuck with dangerously scalding water and banging pipes with spurting water and I can't even take a shower. SHAME ON YOU GEORGE AND SHARON. THIS IS NO WAY TO TREAT PEOPLE! I asked that 4 bathroom sink faucets to be installed. the first was done in 45 minutes and when I left the house and came back, the plumber was on his phone texting. He charged me for 5 hours work in total. I disputed the last hour and told them as much. they charged my credit card the disputed amount 3 days after the bill was properly paid without my approval. Our water heater went out in our manufactured home and was past it's mfg warranty by 3 years. We contacted Landmark Warranty to open a claim Thursday AM. George Henry's came out same day. Technicians Casey and Chris diagnosed the problem and got it working for us per Landmark's requirements but did recommend to Landmark that it get replaced due to age of unit as it was going to go out again. And it did go out again the same night. Because of Casey's documentation and info provided to Landmark, Landmark did approve a full replacement and allow George Henry's to replace unit with one they had in stock. Casey and Chris came back out on Monday morning and replaced within 2 hours. Jerry, the GH office/dispatch manager was EXCELLENT throughout the entire process and maintain his professional manner each time this crazy lady (me) called for updated status on Landmark's approval. He treated me like family and that did well at calming me down each time I called. Although we wished Landmark would have given IMMEDIATE approval for replacement, they did follow the procedures as outline in the Warranty agreement and "partnered" with George Henry so the unit was replaced sooner than the agreement allowed for. We were VERY PLEASED with George Henry's Plumbing from beginning to end. read more

Just spent $190 with a competitor and he snaked and found a fluffy dog toy causing the problem, used the camera and it showed no cracks with my husband watching. Wow...what fantastic service. We found out about a leak in a vacation home in Forwst Lakes from the water department two days before we were supposed to arrive to prepare the house for sale. We called George Henry's and were able to schedule an appointment for the next day. Turns out there were 8 leaks, with two in walls, and the rest in the crawl space. The technician (Mike) fixed everything in just a few hours, cleaned up, and took a credit card over the phone for payment. He also made us aware of several other potential issues, and made suggestions, which we are now having him do today. He even replaced all the supply lines to the faucets and the lavs at no additional cost. His pricing was about 20% below estimates from others, and they also said they couldn't get to the site for several days. Being in such a remote area, it is so unusual to find a trades company that is capable, let alone timely, and neat. Well done, would recommend without hesitation. read more

Terrible! Not a free estimate as he has listed or on his truck. Not up front with his pricing and triple the cost of reputable plumbers in the area. Charged us $500 to Not fix a backed up toilet. Snaking the drain with a camera to see the line is broken doesn't cost $500. Estimate to fix was an Additional $2500 on top of the $500 for NOTHING but having him yell on the phone at me when the technician called him that he would put a lien on my house when I questioned the charges was icing on the cake. I am not kidding. We got a legit plumber Charlie's Wrangler to diagnose and fix for $1875. Affordable Hometown Plumbing (my regular and good plumber) was out of town that Friday. Wish I had not seen Mikes (George Henry Plumbing) add. Spoke to 3 other plumbers in area that are good also and recommend each other. One plumber said they "don't know how he stays in business" and another one said they snaked and fixed a sink drain for a $90 for a poor lady who was out $500 already from this terrible business that couldn't unclog her drain and charged her $500. I agree with Julie M., only I wish I could give this company a minus 10. The technician came to our home at our request to check our air conditioning and my husband told the technician that the unit would not come on. The technician proceeded to check things out and said there was a broken wire between the inside unit and the outside condensor. In the process of his trying to repair it he burned up the circuit board. He said nothing about this, other than he had to return the next day with a co-worker to replace the wire. He did not come back when he said he would and we had to call the office and were told there was an emergency and they could not return at the appointed day or time, but the following day they could return. Our A/C was not working and we needed it, so we called another company to repair it and that is when we were told that George Henry's technician had burned up the circuit board. The cost to repair this was $666.00 and George Henry's owner refused to reimburse usl. We reported them to the ROC and their statement to the ROC was totally false. Do not even consider using this company for anything, Information we have received shows that the technician that was sent out was not qualified to work on A/C units. read more

They sent one of their employees out for an estimate to fix or replace a leaky faucet. This would typically be a 60-90 minute job and maybe cost up to $150.00. Well I guess when they saw our house in the local country club they decided they could get more money out of us. Although they quoted $125 the final bill was close to $500.00. It only took the guy they sent out 40 minutes with no extra materials needed. They also got black stuff from their boots all over our rug running back and forth out to their truck. My wife was furious. We had to hire a rug cleaning company. I called to speak with Mike Root the owner and he was a belligerent fool. Sent him over the bill for the carpet to be cleaned which was close to $300.00 and as expected he ignored it. Eventually we disputed the charge with our bank and in all fairness sent him over payment for the difference. In summary be smart DO NOT HIRE George Henry's Plumbing. read more
