Geoff repaired an antique chair. He picked it up and delivered it at a reasonable cost. We highly recommend Geoff.

If I could give this business zero stars I would. it was not explained to me that he had all this…read moredifferent costs that I was going to be paying for until after the move. He didn't come in his own truck, he rented a U-Haul which I wasn't expecting and was not mentioned in the beginning. He insisted on wrapping everything in sight, including the plastic trashcans that are like $15 from Walmart. Now of course in charging by the hour and choosing to wrap everything it made the move take longer. I explained that I had a time frame from the beginning because I needed to work the evening shift still. He didn't adhere to the time frame and I ended up missing work. I had a friend who helped unload the truck and if my friend had not had helped then it would have taken like another two hours. Also when they propped open the doors to get from the front door to my apartment door they used the laundry basket full of unwrapped glassware and the other door they used one of my boxes labeled fragile. I was extremely unhappy with their choices. If I had wanted to do my move using two people and a uhaul me and my friend would have taken a day to do it ourselves. The second guy was FaceTiming a girl and talking about having sex later which was wildly inappropriate and wasting time when things could have been being loaded or unloaded. He also said he had the address in GPS and he was following my vehicle back and forth (a less then 10 min drive) yet he got lost and made wrong turns every trip made to or from which wasted more time he expected me to pay for. He never made me aware that I would be paying for his travels from Normal IL to Decatur IL and back at the hourly wage quoted. When i originally asked if Decatur was in his service area he said yes, and I thought there was no additional fee because if there was one it would have been brought up at that time. while moving things into my brand new apartment he broke the blade on my ceiling fan in the kitchen, and while he has said that he would pay for it, it was so unprofessional the way he handled it. He didn't even catch that he had broke it until I said something about it being broken and he was the one who go went that direction. I'm currently waiting to hear back from my landlord about fixing it and the cost. This whole experience was absolutely dreadful and the mental and emotional toll it took on me was so much I want to never hire movers again. Definitely do not hire these two guys unless you have unlimited time and an unlimited budget for them to move your stuff like a secretary learning how to type. In response to Tylo's comment left 10-10 around noon, I have reached out to Yelp for a refund and a replacement fee to cover the price for parts and labor for my landlord to replace the fan. Right after he posted this comment he threatened to take me to court over a supposed remaining balance on my bill. Why would you hire a company that can't admit fault and just harasses you? I will admit I have not been updating Tylo about my discussion with Yelp thus far. Also since Tylo was the main one on team dragging his butt to make things take longer maybe he needs to take a look at his business practices instead of blaming it on some team he has. The "team" was him and one other guy who said he was his partner in the business. No one deserves to be bullied by a company.

I hired Haul-It Movers Plus after being personally assured by the owner, Kris, that his company was…read moredifferent. He told me he "got into this business because he hated how other companies take advantage of people." I believed him. I wish I hadn't. The move was quoted in person by Kris himself at around $3,500, which I thought was reasonable for our short 37-mile in-state move, and included a second truck that was "to avoid a second trip." That second truck never came. Instead, they made four trips, left several items behind, and then attempted to charge me TRIPLE the original estimate for a stressful, disorganized, and ultimately unfinished move. I was eventually invoiced: * $10,038 for the move (before their so-called "goodwill cap") * $2,385 for packing, on top of $550 already paid on day one * = $12,423 total, if I hadn't pushed back ...plus I had to pay out of pocket to finish the move myself, because they left behind multiple valuable items--including family heirlooms, medical supplies, décor, and luggage. By the end, I felt like a nuisance, not a customer. Co-owner Danial even wrote: "We get that a lot from customers... 99 out of 100 times people don't realize how much they have." (RED FLAG: They know this is a common problem--yet they do nothing to estimate more honestly. And remember, this was after an in-person walkthrough by the company owner.) The "move" itself was a complete mess. Boxes were packed slowly, inefficiently, often mislabeled, and loaded in a way that wasted truck space. The crew rotated daily, had no consistency or oversight, and even included what I later learned was a 14-year-old girl--clearly underage, and still billed at full mover rate. Delina--who I later learned is Kris's wife--joined one of the days. SHE was efficient, upbeat, and kind. Delina and her small team moved more in 2.5 hours than the previous crews had in three full days. The energy changed entirely. Honestly, she should be running the company. Unfortunately, she was only there the one day. At one point, I raised concerns and I was told they wanted to "make things right" and cap the total at the most recent running estimate--which at the time was $6,636 (including packing). But then the move was "capped" at $8,000, already much higher than promised. THEN they claimed the cap only applied to the move itself and added the $2,385 packing invoice separately--bringing the total to $10,935. They had the audacity to call this a "goodwill gesture" I immediately paid the $8,000 invoice and respectfully requested they honor the "cap" by rescinding the packing invoice. They refused blaming me for the following: "Added furniture from family" False: every item was reviewed during Kris's walk-through. "Lack of space" False: my new home had the same layout plus a cleared 1,600 sq ft garage. "Changing furniture placements" False: I provided a detailed blueprint as requested. "Extra trip requested by me" 100% untrue. I explicitly voiced concern over the multiple trips. Disturbingly, they even blamed my 7-year-old, Lexi --though she was only present during the one day things actually went well (when Delina was there). (Lexi had been excited to have her large American Girl dollhouse reassembled--something Haul-It had taken apart and promised to put back together. Instead, they left it in broken pieces. Picture attached. I guess that was their way of "getting her back.") They topped this off with threats of "legal action" for not paying the surprise additional invoice fast enough--which ironically, was all paid within the same number of days it took them to NOT finish the job I will be filing legal complaints, citing: Underage labor Misrepresentation of costs Unfinished services Repeated harassment over billing I trusted them. I needed help. Instead, I was overcharged, gaslit, and blamed--then left with a broken and missing items, and a child who cried over the state of her cherished belongings. I still can't believe the incompetence, rudeness, and dishonesty. Get everything in writing. Triple whatever they quote. And be ready to finish the job yourself!
