I highly recommend Dr. Carolyn Iocolano for annual physicals and general medical visits and Dr. Kanos for OBGYN because they both are very knowledgeable, amiable and attentive with your needs, and most importantly...(especially in NYC where you're rushed like cattle), take their time with you. * Easy to make appointments over the phone or on http://www.zocdoc.com/ * The offices are spacious, clean and ideally located for anyone living/working in Midtown West. * Large waiting area with water and magazines Cons: * My only qualm here is that the wait is hit or miss- you can wait 5 or 45 minutes. Hard to predict.

I have been coming here for a while. I generally see Dr. Cohen and she is very helpful and takes…read moreher time to address all your needs. However, the rest of the staff is just terrible. The front desk staff is extremely unprofessional and rude. They seem to be too busy chit-chatting and gossiping. Their phone lines are forever busy. You will need to wait almost an hour before someone answers the call. In addition, there is no guarantee that your scheduled appointment is actually scheduled. Their staff may forget to put the appointment in the system after they have told you that you have an appointment and its all your fault. If this was not right next to my house and if Dr. Cohen was not so nice, I would have switched a long time ago. I am extremely patient and can deal with a lot of incompetence, especially since Dr. Cohen is amazing, but, I guess its time to find a new practice.

My time is precious too actually. And no, it is not ok for a lady without an appointment to go ahead of me just because she brought you cookies. 2. Now to the visit itself. Seems that he does not understand much. Did not ask me what vitamins I am taking. Only asked about medications. I pointed out that I am not taking medication but I take vitamins. He did not care about that. Dear doctor, what if i am overdosing on calcium? Or other vitamins that can be harmful if taken too long and too much? Nop, he does not care. 3. Have any concerns about the condition that you might have? I have a condition that needs to be watched. Well, his response is "Does that bother you, prevents you from breathing?" Excuse me, I did not know that we need to wait for the condition to accelerate to the level where it prevents me from breathing. I thought the point of monitoring your health problems is to prevent those problems from developing further or catch them if they become worse. 3. Got my blood work back. So, if there anything that is wrong with you blood results-something has lower or higher level that needed, his response is "go ask another doctor, maybe he recommends something". Aren't you a doctor and can prescribe me something to stabilize the level??? I am expecting you to tell me that you are recommending me XYZ. On a positive note-he is nice, his medical assistant is nice, he returns your phone calls promptly, and the front desc seems professional. But in the end, I would like a little more attention to my health and respect for my time.

Chiopelas is not motivated to help all patients equally, getting help is contingent upon remaining likeable . I failed to remain and she has been brushing me off and literally telling me there are no more treatments out there for chronic pain which I've found to be completely false. She always seems eager to end the appointment and she does not care if she leaves a patient feeling hopeless. I have been working my ass off getting doctors to replace her because I am so excited to not work with this lazy, mean doctor and I know the feeling is mutual. dr. Chiopelas is so awful that I don't even speak to the friend who referred me to her anymore. I only ever worked with Chiopelas because my options are so limited. That and she takes my insurance.

Apparently they have an office policy that they implemented last January that says no patient can change doctors because it's seen as doctors stealing patients from other doctors in the practice. They even spoke with the doctor I said I didn't feel comfortable seeing again and the other female doctor about my situation and they decided that I had to keep the same doctor. I understand each office can have their own policies but this one seems a little extreme. Just a warning: Westcare Medical Primary Care places doctors ego's over patient's comfort.
